Cruise Control
1:Press to turn the cruise controlsystem on and off. A white indicatorcomes on in the instrument clusterwhen cruise is turned on.
*:Press to disengage cruisecontrol without erasing the setspeed from memory.
RES/+ :If there is a set speed inmemory, move the thumbwheel upbriefly to resume to that speed orhold upwards to accelerate. If cruisecontrol is already active, use toincrease vehicle speed.
SET/✓:Move the thumbwheel downbriefly to set the speed and activatecruise control. If cruise control isalready active, use to decreasespeed.

Driver Information
Center (DIC)
The DIC display is in the center ofthe instrument cluster. It shows thestatus of many vehicle systems. Thecontrols for the DIC are on the turnsignal lever.
1.SET/CLR:Press to set,or press and hold to clear, themenu item displayed.
2.\:Use the band to scroll
through the items ineach menu.
3.MENU:Press to display theDIC menus. This button is alsoused to return to or exit the lastscreen displayed on the DIC.

Forward Collision Alert
(FCA) System
If equipped, FCA may help avoid orreduce the harm caused byfront-end crashes. FCA provides a
green indicator,V,whenavehicle
is detected ahead. This indicatordisplays amber if you follow avehicle much too closely. Whenapproaching a vehicle ahead tooquickly, FCA provides a red flashingalert on the windshield and rapidlybeeps.

Premium Recommended Fuel
Use premium 93 octane unleadedgasoline in your vehicle. Unleadedgasoline with an octane rating aslow as 87 may be used, but it willreduce performance and fueleconomy. SeeFuel0264.
E85 or FlexFuel
No E85 or FlexFuel
Gasoline-ethanol fuel blends greaterthan E15 (15% ethanol by volume),such as E85, cannot be used in thisvehicle.
Engine Oil Life System
The engine oil life system calculatesengine oil life based on vehicle useand displays the CHANGE ENGINEOIL SOON message when it is timeto change the engine oil and filter.The oil life system should be resetto 100% only following an oilchange.
Resetting the Oil Life System
1. Display the REMAINING OILLIFE on the DIC. SeeDriverInformation Center (DIC)0108.
2. Press and hold SET/CLR onthe DIC while the Oil Lifedisplay is active. The oil life willchange to 100%.
The oil life system can also be resetas follows:
1. Display the REMAINING OILLIFE on the DIC. SeeDriverInformation Center (DIC)0108.
2. Fully press and release theaccelerator pedal three timeswithin five seconds.

Driving for Better Fuel
Economy
Driving habits can affect fuelmileage. Here are some driving tipsto get the best fuel economypossible.
.Avoid fast starts and acceleratesmoothly.
.Brake gradually and avoidabrupt stops.
.Avoid idling the engine for longperiods of time.
.When road and weatherconditions are appropriate, usecruise control.
.Always follow posted speedlimits or drive more slowly whenconditions require.
.Keep vehicle tires properlyinflated.
.Combine several trips into asingle trip.
.Replace the vehicle's tires withthe same TPC Spec numbermolded into the tire's sidewallnear the size.

It also comes on when the fuel tankis low on fuel. The light turns offwhen fuel is added. If it does not,have the vehicle serviced.
Security Light
The security light should come onbriefly as the engine is started. If itdoes not come on, have the vehicleserviced by your dealer. If thesystem is working normally, theindicator light turns off.
If the light stays on and the enginedoes not start, there could be aproblem with the theft-deterrentsystem. SeeImmobilizer Operation037.
High-Beam On Light
This light comes on when thehigh-beam headlamps are in use.

Lamps On Reminder
This light comes on when theexterior lamps are in use. SeeExterior Lamp Controls0126.
Cruise Control Light
For vehicles with cruise control, thecruise control light is white when thecruise control is on and ready, andturns green when the cruise controlis set and active.
The light turns off when the cruisecontrol is turned off. SeeCruiseControl0251.

With HUD, some informationconcerning the operation of thevehicle is projected onto thewindshield. The image is projectedthrough the HUD lens on top of theinstrument panel. The informationappears as an image focused outtoward the front of the vehicle.
Caution
If you try to use the HUD image
as a parking aid, you may
misjudge the distance and
damage your vehicle. Do not use
the HUD image as a parking aid.
The HUD may display some of thefollowing alerts or information forvehicles equipped with thesefeatures:

The HUD control is to the left of thesteering wheel.
To a d j u s t t h e H U D i m a g e :
1. Adjust the driver seat.
2. Start the engine.
Use the following settings to adjustthe HUD.
$(Image Adjustment) :Pressdown or up to center the HUDimage. The HUD image can only beadjusted up and down, not sideto side.
PA G E ( D i s p l a y V i e w ) :Press toselect the display view. Turnclockwise or counterclockwise tobrighten or dim the display. Turncompletely counterclockwise to turnthe display off.
The HUD image will automaticallydim and brighten to compensate foroutside lighting. The HUDbrightness control can also beadjusted as needed.
The HUD image can temporarilylight up depending on the angle andposition of the sunlight on the HUDdisplay. This is normal.
Polarized sunglasses could makethe HUD image harder to see.

This message displays when thecruise control is set and shows thespeed it was set to. SeeCruiseControl0251.
Door Ajar Messages
DRIVER DOOR OPEN
This message will display when thedriver door is open. Close the doorcompletely.
HOOD OPEN
This message will display when thehood is open. Close the hoodcompletely.
LEFT REAR DOOR OPEN
This message will display when thedriver side rear door is open. Closethe door completely.
PASSENGER DOOR OPEN
This message will display when thefront passenger door is open. Closethe door completely.
RIGHT REAR DOOR OPEN
This message will display when thepassenger side rear door is open.Close the door completely.
TRUNK OPEN
This message will display when thetrunk is open. Close the trunkcompletely.
Engine Cooling System

A/C OFF DUE TO HIGH
ENGINE TEMP
This message displays when theengine coolant becomes hotter thanthe normal operating temperature.To a v o i d a d d e d s t r a i n o n a h o t
engine, the air conditioningcompressor automatically turns off.When the coolant temperaturereturns to normal, the airconditioning compressor turns backon. The vehicle can continue to bedriven.
If this message continues to appear,have the system repaired by yourdealer as soon as possible to avoiddamage to the engine.
ENGINE OVERHEATED—
IDLE ENGINE
This message displays when theengine coolant temperature is toohot. Stop and allow the vehicle toidle until it cools down.
ENGINE OVERHEATED—
STOP ENGINE
This message displays and acontinuous chime sounds if theengine cooling system reachesunsafe temperatures for operation.Stop and turn off the vehicle assoon as it is safe to do so to avoidsevere damage. This messageclears when the engine has cooledto a safe operating temperature.
