Digital Clock

The digital clock displays the time with the ignition switch in any

position.

To set the clock:
1. Press and hold the H button until the hour advances to the desired

time.

2. Press and hold the M button until the numbers advance to the
desired time. You can use R to quickly set the time
to the nearest hour. If the displayed
time is before the half hour, pressingR sets the clock back to the previous
hour. If the displayed time is after
the half hour, pressing R sets the clock forward to the beginning of the
next hour. For example: 1:06 would RESET to 1:00.
1:52 would RESET to 2:00.

Audio System

You can use any of five methods tofind radio stations on the selected
band: TUNE, SEEK, SCAN, AUTOSELECT, and the Preset buttons.
TUNE — Use the TUNE knob to tune the radio to a desired frequency.
Turn the knob clockwise to tune to a higher frequency, or
counterclockwise to tune to a lower
frequency.
To change the frequency rapidly, press and hold the top or bottom of
the SEEK bar. Release the bar when
the display reaches the desiredfrequency. Depending on which partof the bar you press, the systemscans upward or downward from the
current frequency. SEEK — The SEEK function
searches the band for a station with
a strong signal. To activate it, press and release the top or bottom of the
SEEK bar. Depending on which part of the bar you press, the system
scans upward or downward from the
current frequency. It stops when it
finds a station with a strong signal. SCAN — The SCAN function
samples all the stations with strong
signals on the selected band. To
activate it, press the SCAN button,
then release it. The system will scan up the band for a station with astrong signal. When it finds one, it
will stop and play that station for approximately five seconds. If you do
nothing, the system will then scan
for the next strong station and play
that for five seconds. When it plays a station that you want to continue
listening to, press the SCAN button
again.

If Your Engine Overheats
4. If the temperature gauge stays at the red mark, turn off the engine.
5. Wait until you see no more signs of steam or spray, then open the

hood.

6. Look for any obvious coolant leaks, such as a split radiator hose.
Everything is still extremely hot,so use caution. If you find a leak, it
must be repaired before you
continue driving (see Emergency
Towing on page 320).
7. If you don't find an obvious leak, check the coolant level in the
radiator reserve tank (see page 184). If the level is below the
MIN mark, add coolant to halfway
between the MIN and MAX marks.
8. If there was no coolant in the reserve tank, you may also have to
add coolant to the radiator. Let the
engine cool down until the pointer reaches the middle of the tempera-
ture gauge, or lower, before check- ing the radiator.
9. Using gloves or a large heavy cloth, turn the radiator cap
counterclockwise, without pushing
down, to the first stop. This
releases any remaining pressure in
the cooling system. After the
pressure releases, push down on
the cap and turn it until it comes
off. 10. Start the engine and set the
temperature control dial tomaximum (climate control to
FULL AUTO at 90°F/32°C). Add
coolant to the radiator up to the
base of the filler neck. If you do
not have the proper coolant mixture available, you can add
plain water. Remember to have
the cooling system drained and refilled with the proper mixture as
soon as you can.

11. Put the radiator cap back on tightly. Run the engine and watch
the temperature gauge. If it goes
back to the red mark, the engine
needs repair. (See Emergency
Towing on page 320.)
12. If the temperature stays normal, check the coolant level in the
radiator reserve tank. If it has
gone down, add coolant to the MAX mark. Put the cap back on

tightly.

Taking Care of the Unexpected
Removing the radiator cap

while the engine is hot can

cause the coolant to spray out, seriously scalding you.

Always let the engine and radiator cool down before

removing the radiator cap.

Audio System

You can use any of four methods to
find radio stations on the selected

activate it, press the SCAN button,
then release it. The system will scan
up the band for a station with a
strong signal. When it finds one, it
will stop and play that station for
approximately five seconds. If you do
nothing, the system will then scan
for the next strong station and play
that for five seconds. When it plays a
station that you want to continue
listening to, press the SCAN button

again.

Preset — You can store the
frequencies of your favorite radio
stations in the six preset buttons.
Each button will store one frequency

on the AM band, and two

frequencies on the FM band.
To store a frequency:
1. Select the desired band, AM or
FM. FM1 and FM2 let you store
two frequencies with each Preset
button.
2. Use the TUNE or SEEK function
to tune the radio to a desired

station.

3. Pick the Preset button you want
for that station. Press the button
and hold it until you hear a beep.
4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 to store a total
of six stations on AM and twelve
on FM.
Once a station's frequency is stored,
simply press and release the proper
preset button to tune to it.
The preset frequencies will be lost if
your vehicle's battery goes dead, is
disconnected, or the radio fuse is

removed.
