Seat belt warning
Seat belt warning light
Type A
As a reminder to the driver, the seat belt
warning light will blink for approximately
6 seconds each time you turn the ignition
switch ON regardless of belt fastening.
If the driver’s seat belt is unfastened after
the ignition switch is ON, the seat belt
warning light blinks again for approxi-
mately 6 seconds.
Type B
As a reminder to the driver, the driver’s
seat belt warning light will blink or illumi-
nate for approximately 6 seconds each
time you turn the ignition switch ON
regardless of belt fastening.
If the driver’s seat belt is not fastened
when the ignition switch is turned ON orif it is disconnected after the ignition
switch is turned ON, the seat belt warn-
ing light will blink or illuminate until the
belt is fastened.
But, if the driver's seat belt is connected and disconnected twice within 9 seconds
after the belt is fastened, the driver’s seat
belt warning light will not operate. If the system does not operate as
described, see an authorized KIA dealer
for assistance.
Seat belt warning chime (if equipped)
Type A
If the driver's seat belt is not fastened
when the ignition switch is turned ON or
if it is unfastened after the ignition switch
is ON, the seat belt warning chime will
sound for approximately 6 seconds. At
this time, if the seat belt is fastened, the
chime will stop immediately.
Type B
If the driver's seat belt is not fastened
when the ignition switch is turned ON
and you drive over 9 km/h (6 mph), the
seat belt warning chime will sound for
approximately 100 seconds after the
warning light blinks for approximately 1
minute.
If the driver's seat belt is disconnected
after the ignition switch is turned ON and
you drive over 9 km/h (6 mph), the seat
belt warning chime will sound for approx-
imately 100 seconds.
But, if the driver's seat belt is connected and disconnected twice within 9 seconds
after the belt is fastened, the seat belt
warning chime will not operate.D150305ASA
Turn signal indicator
The blinking green arrows on the instru-
ment panel shows the direction indicated
by the turn signals. If the arrow comes on
but does not blink or blinks more rapidly
than normal or does not illuminate at all,
it indicates a malfunction in the turn sig-
nal system. It should be checked by an
authorized KIA dealer.

High beam indicator
This indicator illuminates when the head- lights are on and in the high beam posi-
tion or when the turn signal lever is pulled
into the Flash-to-Pass position.

To turn on the high beam headlights,
push the lever away from you. Pull it back
for low beams. The high beam indicator will light when
the headlight high beams are switchedon.
To prevent the battery from being dis-
charged, do not leave the lights on for aprolonged time while the engine is not
running.To flash the headlights, pull the lever
towards you. It will return to the normal
(low beam) position when released. The
headlight switch does not need to be on
to use this flashing feature.

Turn signals and lane change sig- nals
The ignition switch must be on for the
turn signals to function. To turn on the
turn signals, move the lever up or down
(A). Green arrow indicators on the instru-
ment panel indicate which turn signal is
operating. They will self-cancel after a
turn is completed. If the indicator contin-
ues to flash after a turn, manually return
the lever to the OFF position.

When you turn off the rear fog light by
turning the headlight switch to the off
position, be sure to turn the rear fog
light button off too by pressing the but-
ton again. The chime may sound when
you open the door if the rear fog light
button is on, even though the rear fog
light is off.

Daytime running light (if equipped)
Daytime Running Lights (DRL) can make
it easier for others to see the front of your
vehicle during the day. DRL can be help-
ful in many different driving conditions,
and it is especially helpful after dawn and
before sunset.
The DRL system will make the head-
lights turn OFF when:
1. The parklight switch is ON.

Headlight leveling device (if equipped)
To adjust the headlight beam level
according to the number of the passen-
gers and the loading weight in the lug-
gage area, turn the beam leveling switch.
The higher the number of the switch
position, the lower the headlight beam
level. Always keep the headlight beam at
the proper leveling position, or headlights
may dazzle other road users.Listed below are the examples of proper
switch settings. For loading conditions
other than those listed below, adjust the
switch position so that the beam level
may be the nearest as the conditionobtained according to the list.
