CAUTION
■To avoid operating the cruise control by mistake
Switch the cruise control off using the “ON/OFF” button when not in use.
■Situations unsuitable for cruise control
Do not use cruise control in any of the following situations.
Doing so may result in loss of control and could cause an accident resulting in
death or serious injury.
●In heavy traffic
●On roads with sharp bends
●On winding roads
●On slippery roads, such as those covered with rain, ice or snow
●On steep hills
Vehicle speed may exceed the set speed when driving down a steep hill.
●During emergency towing

CAUTION
■To avoid inadvertent cruise control activation
Switch the cruise control off using the “ON/OFF” button when not in use.
■Situations unsuitable for dynamic radar cruise control
Do not use dynamic radar cruise control in any of the following situations.
Doing so may result in inappropriate sp eed control and could cause an accident
resulting in death or serious injury.
●Except highway or expressway
●In heavy traffic
●On roads with sharp bends
●On winding roads
●On slippery roads, such as those covered with rain, ice or snow
●On steep downhills, or where there are sudden changes between sharp up and
down gradients
Vehicle speed may exceed the set speed when driving down a steep hill.
●At entrances to expressways
●When weather conditions are bad enough that they may prevent the sensors
from functioning correctly (fog, snow, sandstorm, heavy rain, etc.)
●When an approach warning buzzer is heard often
●During emergency towing

Interior features
■Stolen Vehicle Location
If your vehicle is stolen, Safety Connect can work with local authorities
to assist them in locating and recov ering the vehicle. After filing a police
report, call the Safety Connect response center at 1-800-25-LEXUS
(1-800-255-3987) and follow the pr ompts for Safety Connect to ini-
tiate this service.
In addition to assisting law enforcemen t with recovery of a stolen vehi-
cle, Safety-Connect-equipped vehicle location data may, under certain
circumstances, be shared with third parties to locate your vehicle. Fur-
ther information is available at Lexus.com.
■Emergency Assistance Button (“SOS”)
In the event of an emergency on th e road, push the “SOS” button to
reach the Safety Connect response center. The answering agent will
determine your vehicle’s location, assess the emergency, and dispatch
the necessary assistance required.
If you accidentally press the “SOS” button, tell the response-center agent that
you are not experiencing an emergency.
■Enhanced Roadside Assistance
Enhanced Roadside Assistance adds GPS data to the already included
warranty-based Lexus roadside service.
Subscribers can press the “SOS” button to reach a Safety Connect
response-center agent, who can help with a wide range of needs, such
as: towing, flat tire, fuel delivery, etc. For a description of the Roadside
Assistance services and their limitati ons, please see the Safety Connect
Terms and Conditions, which are available at Lexus.com.

When trouble arises
If your vehicle needs to be towed
The following may indicate a problem with your transmission transmission>. Contact your Lexus de aler or commercial towing service
before towing.
●Gasoline vehicles: The engine is ru nning but the vehicle will not move.
●Hybrid vehicles: A warning messag e for the hybrid system is shown on
the multi-information display and the vehicle does not move.
●The vehicle makes an abnormal sound.
Do not tow with a sling-type truck to
prevent body damage.
If towing is necessary, we recommend having your vehicle towed by
your Lexus dealer or commercial towing service, using a lift-type truck
or flat bed truck.
Use a safety chain system for all towing, and abide by all state/provin-
cial and local laws.

bed truck, it should be tied down at

Gasoline vehicles: If a tow truck is
not available in an emergency, your
vehicle may be temporarily towed
using a cable or chain secured to
the emergency towing eyelet. This
should only be attempted on hard
surfaced roads for 50 miles (80
km) at low speeds.
A driver must be in the vehicle to steer and operate the brakes. The vehi-
cle’s wheels, drive train, axles, steeri ng and brakes must be in good condi-
tion.
Hybrid vehicles: If a tow truck is not available in an emergency, your vehi-
cle may be temporarily towed using a cable or chain secured to the emer-
gency towing eyelet. This should only be attempted on hard surfaced
roads for short distances at under 18 mph (30 km/h).
A driver must be in the vehicle to steer and operate the brakes. The vehi-
cle’s wheels, drive train, axles, steeri ng and brakes must be in good condi-
tion.

Take out the towing eyelet. (P. 660)
Remove the eyelet cover using a
flathead screwdriver.
To protect the bodywork, place a rag
between the screwdriver and the vehi-
cle body as shown in the illustration.
Insert the towing eyelet into the
hole and tighten partially by hand.
Tighten down the towing eyelet
securely using a wheel nut
wrench.
Securely attach a cable or chain to the towing eyelet.
Take care not to damage the vehicle body.

When trouble arises
Gasoline vehicles: Enter the vehicle being towed and start the engine.
If the engine does not start, turn the “START STOP ENGINE” switch to IGNI-
TION ON mode
Hybrid vehicles: Enter the vehicle being towed and start the hybrid sys-
tem.
If the hybrid system does not start, turn the “POWER” switch to ON mode.
Shift the shift position to N and release the parking brake.
When the shift lever cannot be shifted: P. 6 76
■While towing
If the engine is not running , the power assist for the brakes
and steering will not func tion, making steering and braking more difficult.

CAUTION
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may result in death or serious injury.
■When towing the vehicle
■While towing
●When towing using cables or chains, avoid sudden starts, etc. which place exces-
sive stress on the eyelet, cables or chains. The towing eyelet, cables or chains may
become damaged, broken debris may hit people and cause serious damage.
●Do not turn the “START STOP ENGINE” <“POWER”> switch off.
This may lead to an accident as the front wheels will be locked by the parking lock.
■Installing towing eyelet to the vehicle
Make sure that towing eyel et is installed securely.
If not securely installed, towing eyelets may come loose during towing.
Gasoline vehicles: Be sure to transport the
vehicle with the front wheels raised or with all
four wheels raised off the ground.
If the vehicle is towed with the front wheels
contacting the ground, the drivetrain and
related parts may be damaged.
Hybrid vehicles: Be sure to transport the
vehicle with the front wheels raised or with all
four wheels raised off the ground. If the vehi-
cle is towed with the front wheels contacting
the ground, the drivetrain and related parts
may be damaged or electricity generated by
the operation of the motor may cause a fire
to occur depending on the nature of the
damage or malfunction.
