The one-touch function can be restored for
individual windows or f
or several windows at
the same time.
Touch panels do not react as expected
Moisture, dirt, grease etc. can restrict func-
tioning of the touch panel. Make sure that

x You must driv
e particularly carefully
when driving with new brake pads in or-
der to reduce the risk of accidents, seri-
ous injuries and loss of control of the ve-
hicle.
x Never drive too close to other vehicles
when running in new brake pads, and
never create a driving situation that will
place a heavy load on the brakes. WARNING
Overheated brakes reduce the braking ef-
f
ect and considerably increase the braking
distance.
x When driving downhill, the brakes are
placed under particular strain and be-
come hot very quickly.
x Before driving down a long, steep gradi-
ent, reduce your speed and select
a higher recuperation level. This will
make use of the electric drive braking
effect and relieve the load on the brakes.
x Non-standard or damaged front spoilers
could restrict the airflow to the brakes
and cause them to overheat. WARNING
Wet brakes or brakes coated with ice or
road salt react more slowly and require lon-
ger braking distances.
x Carefully apply the brakes to test them.
x Always dry brakes and clean off any
coating of ice and salt with a f

ew cau-
tious applications of the brakes when
visibility, weather, road and traffic con-
ditions permit. Regularly perform a visual check of the
thickness of the front brake pads
through the openings in the rims or from the
underside of the v

ehicle. If necessary, remove
the wheels to carry out a comprehensive
check. Volkswagen recommends using
a Volkswagen dealership for this purpose. When the front brake pads are
checked, the brake pads in the drum
brakes on the rear axle should also be
checked at the same time. This check is per-
f

ormed though an inspection hole on the rear
of the drum. A sealing plug must be removed
for this purpose. Volkswagen recommends
using a Volkswagen dealership for this pur-
pose. Driving a loaded vehicle

or good vehicle handling when driving a loa-
ded vehicle, please observe the following:

come loose, leading to a loss of control of

ehicle, causing accidents and serious
injuries.
x Never drive if wheel bolts are missing or
loose.
x Always use wheel bolts that match the
wheel rims and the vehicle type.
x Always tighten the wheel bolts with the
correct tightening torque. If you do not
have a torque wrench, tighten the wheel
bolts with the wheel bolt wrench and
have the torque checked without delay

gen have been carefully selected.
Rotating wheels when all wheels have the
same tyre and rim sizes
If all wheels have the same tyre and rim sizes,
it is recommended to regularly rotate the
wheels in accordance with the diagram

WARNING
Wheels must have the necessary clearance.
If the wheels do not ha ve the necessary
clearance, the tyre could rub on parts of
the running gear, the vehicle body and the
brake lines. This can lead to a fault in the
brake system and to tread separation and
thus to a tyre bursting.
x The actual tyre size must not exceed the
tyre dimensions of manufacturers ap-
proved by Volkswagen and must not rub
on any vehicle body parts. NOTICE
Avoid heavy impacts and drive round obsta-
cles whene
ver possible. Tyres can be de-
formed in particular by potholes and kerb
edges. This can cause damage to the tyres
and wheel rims. NOTICE
Do not damage the valves when fitting dif-
f
erent tyres. Never drive without valve caps.
This could cause damage to the valves. Old tyres should be disposed of prop-
erly and as required by legislation.
If the spare tyre is not the same as the
tyres that are mounted on the car - f

or
example in the case of winter tyres or a tem-
porary spare wheel - only use the spare tyre
in the event of a breakdown for a short peri-
od of time and drive with extra care. Refit the
normal road wheel as soon as possible.
Volkswagen-approved tyres are guar-
anteed to have the dimensions that are
suitable for the vehicle. In the case of other
tyres, the tyre seller must provide a certifi-
cate from the tyre manufacturer stating that
the tyre is also suitable for the vehicle. This
certificate must be stored in a safe place in
the vehicle. Wheel rims and wheel bolts

Wheel rims, tyres and wheel bolts are match-
ed to the v

ehicle type. If different wheel rims
are fitted, the correct wheel bolts with the
correct length and correctly shaped bolt
heads must be used. This ensures that the
brakes work properly and that the vehicle
drives quietly and safely.
For technical reasons, it is not generally pos-
sible to use the wheel rims from other vehi-
cles. This can also apply to wheel rims of the
same vehicle type.
The tightening torque of the wheel bolts
must be checked regularly with a properly
functioning torque wrench.
