FRONT BRAKE LEVER
The front brake lever 1 is located on the right
handlebar. Pull it toward the handlebar to acti-
vate the front brake.

REAR BRAKE PEDAL
The rear brake pedal 1 is located on the right
side of the machine. Press down on the brake
pedal to activate the rear brake.

FUEL COCK
The fuel cock supplies fuel from the tank to
carburetor while filtering the fuel. The fuel cock
has the three positions:
OFF: With the lever in this position, fuel will
not flow. Always return the lever to this
position when the engine is not running.
ON: With the lever in this position, fuel flows
to the carburetor. Normal riding is done
with the lever in this position.
RES: This indicates reserve. If you run out of
fuel while riding, move the lever to this
position. FILL THE TANK AT THE
FIRST OPPORTUNITY. BE SURE TO
SET THE LEVER TO “ON” AFTER
REFUELING.

STARTER KNOB (CHOKE)
When cold, the engine requires a richer air-fuel
mixture for starting. A separate starter circuit,
which is controlled by the starter knob 1, sup-
plies this mixture. Pull the starter knob out to
open the circuit for starting. When the engine
has warmed up, push it in to close the circuit.

ARMATUREN UND DEREN FUNKTION
HANDBREMSHEBEL
Der Handbremshebel 1 zur Betätigung der
Vorderradbremse befindet sich auf der rechten
Seite des Lenkers.
FUSSBREMSHEBEL
Der Fußbremshebel 1 zur Betätigung der Hin-
terradbremse befindet sich auf der rechten
Fahrzeugseite.
KRAFTSTOFFHAHN
Der Kraftstoffhahn leitet den Kraftstoff vom
Tank zum Vergaser und filtert ihn gleichzeitig.
Die einzelnen Kraftstoffhahnstellungen (vgl.
Abb.) sind nachfolgend beschrieben:
OFF: Der Kraftstoffhahn ist geschlossen und
die Kraftstoffzufuhr unterbrochen. Den
Kraftstoffhahn nach Abstellen des Mo-
tors auf “OFF” stellen.
ON: Diese Stellung ist für den Normalbetrieb:
der laufende Motor wird mit Kraftstoff
versorgt. Den Kraftstoffhahn vor Fahrt-
antritt auf “ON” stellen.
RES: Dies ist die Reservestellung. Falls beim
Fahren der Kraftstoff ausgeht, muß der
Hebel in diese Position gestellt werden.
In diesem Fall so bald wie möglich auf-
tanken. Der Hebel muß nach dem Auf-
tanken wieder in die Position “ON” ge-
stellt werden.
CHOKEHEBEL
Ein kalter Motor benötigt zum Starten ein fette-
res Luft-Kraftstoff-Gemisch, das eine spezielle
Kaltstarteinrichtung, der sog. Choke, liefert.
Zum Aktivieren des Chokes (Kaltstartanreiche-
rung des Gemischs) den Chokehebel 1 bis
zum Anschlag herausziehen. Zum Abschalten
des Chokemechanismus (normaler Fahrbe-
trieb mit warmem Motor) den Hebel bis zum
Anschlag zurückschieben. LEVIER DE FREIN AVANT
Le levier de frein avant 1 se trouve à la poignée
droite. Le tirer vers la poignée pour actionner le
frein avant.
PÉDALE DE FREIN ARRIÈRE
La pédale de frein arrière 1 se trouve du côté droit
du véhicule. Appuyer sur la pédale de frein pour
actionner le frein arrière.
ROBINET DE CARBURANT
Le robinet de carburant fournit le carburant du
réservoir au carburateur, tout en le filtrant. Le robi-
net de carburant a trois positions:
OFF:À cette position, le flux de carburant est
coupé. Toujours placer la manette à cette
position après avoir coupé le moteur.
ON:À cette position, le carburant coule au car-
burateur. Pour rouler, la manette doit se
trouver à cette position.
RES: Position réserve. Quand le carburant vient à
manquer au cours d’une randonnée, placer
le levier à cette position. FAIRE LE PLEIN
DÈS QUE POSSIBLE. REMETTRE LE
LEVIER SUR “ON” APRÈS AVOIR FAIT
LE PLEIN.
BOUTON DE STARTER
La mise en marche à froid requiert un mélange air -
carburant plus riche. C’est le circuit de starter,
commandé par le bouton de starter 1 qui fournit ce
mélange plus riche. Tirer le bouton de starter afin
d’ouvrir le circuit pour la mise en marche. Une fois
le moteur chaud, l’enfoncer afin de refermer le cir-
cuit.

THROTTLE LUBRICATION
1. Remove:
Throttle cable cap 1
NOTE:
Before adjusting the throttle cable free play,
the engine idle speed should be adjusted.
WARNING
After adjusting, turn the handlebar to
right and left and make sure that the
engine idling does not run faster.
2. Apply:
Lithium soap base grease
On the throttle cable end a and tube
guide cable winding portion b.
3. Install:
Throttle cable cap
T R..2 Nm (0.2 m · kg, 1.4 ft · lb)
AIR FILTER CLEANING
NOTE:
Proper air filter maintenance is the biggest key
to preventing premature engine wear and
damage.
CAUTION:
Never run the engine without the air filter
element in place; this would allow dirt and
dust to enter the engine and cause rapid
wear and possible engine damage.

1. Demontieren:
Gaszuggehäuseteil 1 demontieren
HINWEIS:
Vor dem Einstellen des Gasdrehgriff-Spiels
sollte die Leerlaufdrehzahl eingestellt wer-
den.
WARNUNG
Nach der Einstellung den Lenker bei lau-
fendem Motor beidseitig bis zum
Anschlag drehen. Dabei darf sich die
Leerlaufdrehzahl nicht verändern.
2. Auftragen:
Lithiumfett
Auf Gaszugende a und Rohrführung
der Zugumlenkung b auftragen.
3. Montieren:
Gaszuggehäuseteil
T R..2 Nm (0,2 m · kg)
LUFTFILTER REINIGEN
HINWEIS:
Die korrekte Wartung des Luftfilters ist der
wichtigste Punkt zur Verhinderung von vorzei-
tigem Motorverschleiß und Beschädigungen.
ACHTUNG:
Niemals den Motor laufen lassen, wenn der
Luftfiltereinsatz nicht korrekt montiert ist.
Andernfalls kann Schmutz und Staub in
den Motor eindringen und raschen Ver-
schleiß und möglicherweise Beschädigun-
gen im Motor verursachen. LUBRIFICATION DU CÂBLE DES GAZ
1. Déposer:
Couvercle du logement de câble d’accéléra-
tion 1
N.B.:
Régler le régime de ralenti du moteur avant de
régler le jeu de câble des gaz.
AVERTISSEMENT
Après le réglage, tourner le guidon dans un
sens et dans l’autre pour s’assurer que le
régime n’augmente pas.
2. Appliquer:
Graisse à base de savon au lithium
Sur l’extrémité de câble d’accélération a
et la partie du tube de poignée où le câble
va s’enrouler b.
3. Installer:
Couvercle du logement de câble d’accéléra-
tion
T R..2 Nm (0,2 m · kg, 1,4 ft · lb)
NETTOYAGE DU FILTRE À AIR
N.B.:
Un bon entretien du filtre à air est la meilleure
façon d’éviter l’usure et l’endommagement préma-
turé du moteur.
ATTENTION:
Ne jamais faire tourner un moteur sans son élé-
ment de filtre à air. Des crasses et des poussières
pénétreraient dans le moteur et causeraient son
usure prématurée et risqueraient de l’endom-
mager.
