CHECKING THE LEVELS
Dipstick
Oil change
According to the information given in
the servicing booklet.
Note: a v o i d u s e d o i l c o m i n g i n t o
prolonged contact with the skin.

e r s i n t e n d e d f o r t h i s p u r p o s e i n t h e
CITROËN network. Viscosity selection
I n a l l c a s e s , t h e o i l s e l e c t e d m u s t m e e t
t h e m a n u f a c t u r e r ' s r e q u i r e m e n t s .
Note: the coolant does not need to
be changed.
For vehicles equipped with a parti-
c l e fi l t e r , t h e e n g i n e f a n m a y o p e r a t e
after the ignition has been switched
o f f , e v e n w h e n t h e e n g i n e i s c o l d .
There are two marks
on the dipstick:
A = m a x i m u m
N e v e r fi l l p a s t t h i s
mark.
B = m i n i m u m
To maintain the reliability
of engines and emission
c o n t r o l s y s t e m s , t h e u s e
of addi-tives in engine oil
is prohibited. Brake fluid level:
T h e b r a k e fl u i d m u s t b e c h a n g e d
a c c o r d i n g t o t h e m a n u f a c t u r e r ' s s e r -
v i c i n g s c h e d u l e .
U s e fl u i d s r e c o m m e n d e d b y t h e
m a n u f a c t u r e r , w h i c h f u l fi l D O T 4
standards.

and very corrosive. Avoid all contact
with the skin.
C o o l i n g s y s t e m
U s e t h e fl u i d r e c o m m e n d e d b y t h e
m a n u f a c t u r e r .
When the engine is warm, the tem-
p e r a t u r e o f t h e c o o l a n t i s c o n t r o l l e d
by the engine fan. As this fan can op-
erate with the ignition key removed
a n d b e c a u s e t h e c o o l i n g s y s t e m i s
p r e s s u r i s e d , w a i t f o r a t l e a s t o n e h o u r
after the engine has stopped before
c a r r y i n g o u t a n y w o r k .
S l a c k e n t h e c a p b y t w o t u r n s t o r e -
l e a s e t h e p r e s s u r e t o p r e v e n t a n y
r i s k o f s c a l d i n g . W h e n t h e p r e s s u r e
has dropped, remove the cap and
t o p u p t h e l e v e l . Used oil
D o n o t d i s p o s e o f u s e d o i l , b r a k e fl u i d o r
c o o l a n t i n t o d r a i n s o r o n t o t h e g r o u n d .
Power steering reservoir
Open the reservoir, with the
e n g i n e a t a m b i e n t t e m p e r a t u r e .
T h e l e v e l s h o u l d a l w a y s b e a b o v e
the MIN. mark and close to the
MAX. mark.
W i n d s c r e e n a n d h e a d l a m p
wash level
F o r b e s t q u a l i t y c l e a n i n g a n d f o r

u p o r r e p l a c e d w i t h w a t e r .
Oil level
C h e c k t h e l e v e l r e g u l a r l y a n d
t o p u p b e t w e e n c h a n g e s . T h e
m a x i m u m c o n s u m p t i o n i s 0 . 5 l
per 600 miles (1 000 km).
Check the level with the vehicle level,
e n g i n e c o l d , u s i n g t h e o i l l e v e l g a u g e
o n t h e i n s t r u m e n t p a n e l o r t h e d i p s t i c k .
