For even air distribution, take care not
to obstruct the exterior air intake grille
located at the bottom of the windscreen,
the vents, the air outlets under the front
seats and the air extractor located be-
hind the fl aps in the boot. The water formed by the air condition-
ing condensation is discharged via
an opening provided for this purpose.
Therefore, a puddle of water may form
underneath the vehicle when stationary.
If the system does not produce cold air,
do not use it and have it checked by a
CITROËN dealer. AUTOMATIC REGULATION OF
THE AIR CONDITIONING
Do not cover the temperature and
humidity sensor
2 and the sunshine
sensor 7 .
They are required for regulation of the
air conditioning.
Advice on operation
In hot weather, in order to obtain in-
tense ventilation, it is advisable to
use vents 1 and 4 only.
If, when the vehicle has been parked
in the sun for a long time, the interior
temperature remains very high, do
not hesitate to ventilate the passen-
ger compartment for a few minutes. Switch off the air conditioning
when the climatic conditions
permit.
Use of the automatic regulation of the air
conditioning is recommended. It permits
automatic and optimised control of all
of the following functions: air fl ow, pas-
senger compartment temperature and
air distribution, by means of various sen-
sors (exterior temperature, interior tem-
perature, sunshine), so preventing the
need for you to change your reference
settings other than the value displayed.
In certain cases of particularly arduous
use (towing the maximum load on a
steep gradient in hot weather), cutting
off the air conditioning permits recovery
of the engine power and therefore im-
provement of the towing capacity.
Close the windows to benefi t from the
full effectiveness of the air conditioning.
Ensure that the passenger compart-
ment fi lter is in good condition. Have
the fi lter elements replaced periodically.
If you drive in a dusty environment, re-
place it twice as often.
The air conditioning system does not
contain chlorine and is not harmful to
the ozone layer.
Operate the air conditioning system for
5 to 10 minutes, once or twice a month,
to keep it in perfect working order.
1. Centre panel vents.

2. Temperature sensor.

3. Air outlet to passenger footwells.

4. Side vents.

5. Front windows de-icing or demisting
vents.

6. Windscreen de-icing or demisting

AUTOMATIC AIR
CONDITIONING
Automatic operation

 Set the temperature control dial 3 to
the temperature required.

 Place the air fl ow control dial 2 in
the "AUTO" position.

 Place the air distribution adjustment
dial 1 in the "AUTO" position. When the engine is cold, to avoid an
excessive distribution of cold air, the
ventilation will reach its optimum level
gradually.
On entering the vehicle, the interior
temperature may be much colder (or
warmer) than the comfort tempera-
ture. There is no need to change the
temperature displayed in order to
reach the comfort required rapidly.
The automatic regulation of the air
conditioning will operate at maxi-
mum performance to eliminate the
temperature difference as quickly as
possible.

2. Air fl ow adjustment

3. Temperature adjustment

4. Rear screen de-icing

5. Air conditioning On/Off

6. Intake of exterior air/Recirculation
of interior air
In automatic mode:

 when the temperature is set to max-
imum (Rapid heating), the intake of
exterior air is activated and the air
conditioning stops.

when the temperature is set to mini-
mum (Rapid cooling), the air recircula-
tion is activated and the air conditioning
operates.

In accordance with the level of comfort
selected, the system controls the air
distribution, the fl ow, the temperature
and the air intake to guarantee comfort
and a suffi cient circulation of air in the
passenger compartment. No further ac-
tion on your part is required.

FUEL TANK Opening the cap may trigger an air
intake noise. This vacuum, which is
completely normal, is caused by the
sealing of the fuel circuit.
To fi ll the tank safely:

 it is imperative that the engine is
switched off,

 pull the control A located at the
bottom right of the driver’s seat to
release the fuel fi ller fl ap,

 open the fuel fi ller fl ap B ,

 turn the cap C to the left,
When you have fi lled the tank:

 refi t the cap, inserting the upper part
fi rst,

 screw in the cap to the right,

 close the fl ap.
Ensure that the fuel fi ller fl ap is closed
correctly.
 remove the cap C ,

 fi ll the tank, but do not continue af-
ter the 3rd cut-off of the nozzle ;
this could cause malfunctions.
Low fuel level
Filling
A label, affi xed on the inside of the fl ap,
reminds you of the type of fuel to be
used in relation to your engine.
More than 5 litres of fuel must be
added in order to be registered by the
fuel gauge. When the tank minimum lev-
el is reached, this indication
appears on the instrument
panel display. When it fi rst
comes on, approximately
10 litres of fuel remain.
The symbol fl ashes slowly (approxi-
mately once per second).
When the symbol begins to

fl ash rapidly (approximately
twice per second), there is not
much fuel remaining in your tank
(approximately 5 litres).
It is essential to fi ll the tank to avoid
running out of fuel.
This symbol indicates that the
fuel tank cap is located on the
left-hand side of the vehicle.

"Rearwards-facing" "Forwards-facing"
* The rules for transporting children are specifi c to each country. Refer to the
current legislation in your country.
GENERAL POINTS RELATING
TO CHILD SEATS
Intermediate longitudinal position

CITROËN recommends that chil-
dren should travel in the rear seats
of your vehicle:
- "rearwards-facing" up to the
age of 2,
- "forwards-facing" over the age
of 2. When a "rearwards-facing" child
seat is installed on the
front
passenger seat , it is essential
that the passenger airbag is deacti-
vated. Otherwise, the child would
risk being seriously injured or
killed if the airbag were to infl ate .
INSTALLING A CHILD SEAT USING A THREE POINT SEAT BELT
When a "forwards-facing" child seat is
installed on the front passenger seat ,
adjust the vehicle's seat to the interme-
diate longitudinal position with the seat
back upright and leave the passenger
airbag activated.
Although one of CITROËN's main cri-
teria when designing your vehicle, the
safety of your children also depends on
you.
For maximum safety, please follow
these precautions:
- in accordance with European reg-
ulations, all children under the
age of 12 or less than one and a
half metres tall must travel in ap-
proved child seats suited to their
weight , on seats fi tted with a seat
belt or ISOFIX mountings * ,
- statistically, the safest seats in
your vehicle for the transpor-
tation of children are the rear
seats,
- a child weighing less than 9 kg
must travel in the "rearwards-
facing" position both in the front
and in the rear.

The incorrect installation of a
child seat in a vehicle compro-
mises the child's protection in
the event of an accident.
For information regarding the ISOFIX child seats which can be installed in
your vehicle, consult the summary
table for the location of the ISOFIX
child seats.
"ISOFIX" MOUNTINGS These are three rings for each seat:
- two rings A , located between the
vehicle seat back and cushion, indi-
cated by a label,
- a ring B , used to fi x the upper strap,
referred to as the TOP TETHER , in-
dicated by a label. This ISOFIX mounting system guaran-
tees you fast, reliable and safe fi tting of
the child seat in your vehicle.
The
ISOFIX child seats are fi tted with
two locks which are secured easily on
the two rings A .
Some also have an upper strap which
is attached to the ring B .
To attach this strap, remove the vehi-
cle seat's head restraint. Then fi x the
hook on the ring B and tighten the up-
per strap.
Your vehicle has been approved in accord-
ance with the
new ISOFIX regulation .
The seats, represented below, are fi tted
with regulation ISOFIX mountings:

The ASC/TCL systems offer
exceptional safety in normal
driving, but this should not en-
courage the driver to take extra risks
or drive at high speed.
The correct functioning of these
systems depends on observation
of the manufacturer’s recommen-
dations regarding the wheels (tyres
and rims), the braking components,
the electronic components and the
CITROËN assembly and operation
procedures.
After an impact, have these systems
checked by a CITROËN dealer.
Disarming
In exceptional conditions (starting a
vehicle which is bogged down, stuck
in snow, on soft ground, ...), it may be
advisable to disarm the ASC system,
so that the wheels can move freely and
regain grip.

 Press the "ASC OFF" button, locat-
ed to the right of the steering wheel,
until the ASC OFF symbol appears
on the instrument panel display.
The displaying of this symbol in the top
right corner of the instrument panel dis-
play indicates that the ASC and TCL
systems are disarmed. Reactivation
These systems are not reactivated au-
tomatically above 30 mph (50 km/h).

 Press the "ASC OFF" button again
to reactivate them manually.
The switching off of the symbol in the
top right corner of the instrument panel
display indicates the reactivation of the
ASC and TCL systems.
Operating fault
The displaying of this
message on the instru-
ment panel display in-
dicates a malfunction of
these systems.
Contact a CITROËN dealer to have the
ASC/TCL systems checked.
TRAJECTORY CONTROL
SYSTEMS
Activation
These systems are activated automati-
cally each time the vehicle is started.
They operate when the vehicle speed is
higher than 10 mph (15 km/h).
Anti-skid regulation and electronic stability programme
The anti-skid regulation optimises trac-
tion to prevent skidding of the wheels,
by acting on the brakes of the driving
wheels and on the engine.
The electronic stability programme acts
on the brake of one or more wheels and
on the engine to keep the vehicle on the
trajectory required by the driver.
They come into operation in
the event of a grip or trajectory
problem.
This is indicated by fl ashing of this symbol
on the instrument panel display.
Associated systems which guarantee
the directional stability of the vehicle
within the limits of the laws of physics:
- the anti-skid regulation (TCL),
- the electronic stability programme (ASC).
