To remove the head restraint, bring it to

a t t h e s a m e t i m e .
T o r e fi t t h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t , e n g a g e t h e
stems of the head restraint in the holes
p r e s s i n g t h e h e i g h t a d j u s t m e n t b u t t o n
a t t h e s a m e t i m e .
Head restraint height adjustment
Never drive with the removed
head restraints in the vehicle as
they could be thrown around the
v e h i c l e o n s h a r p b r a k i n g . T h e y m u s t
b e i n p l a c e a n d a d j u s t e d c o r r e c t l y .
After installing the head restraint,
check that the height adjustment but-
t o n i s l o c k e d c o r r e c t l y .
The adjustment is correct when the
t o p o f t h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t i s a l i g n e d
w i t h t h e t o p o f t h e h e a d o f t h e s e a t e d
p e r s o n .

"Tailgate open" warning
This warning light comes on on
the instrument panel display when
the tailgate is not closed correctly. LOWER TAILGATE
Opening
Push the handle C to the right and
tilt the tailgate D gently.
Closing
Raise the tailgate D , push it to close
it, then check that it is secured
correctly. Before opening the tailgate, ensure
that no one is within the radius of
opening.
For reasons of safety and correct
operation, do not drive with the
tailgate open.
If the battery is disconnected, the
tailgate cannot be opened.
Do not climb onto the lower tailgate
and do not subject it to heavy knocks,
it may be damaged.
Always close the lower tailgate and
check that it is secured correctly be-
fore closing the main tailgate.
When closing the lower tailgate,
ensure that no person or object is in
the proximity of the moving parts to
avoid any risk of injury or damage.
Do not open the lower tailgate when
a t o w b a r i s fi t t e d .
Maximum authorised weight on the
lower tailgate when open:
200 kg .
Tailgate release
This enables the tailgate to be unlocked
in the event of a central locking fault.
- Fold back the rear seats to gain
access to the tailgate release from
inside the boot.
- Remove the plastic cap from the opening A in the tailgate interior
pillar.
- Move the control B to the right to
unlock and open the tailgate.

"ISOFIX" MOUNTINGS T h e s e a r e t h r e e r i n g s f o r e a c h s e a t :
- two rings A , located between the
vehicle seat back and cushion, indi-
c a t e d b y a l a b e l ,
- a ring B , u s e d t o fi x t h e u p p e r s t r a p ,
referred to as the TOP TETHER , in-
d i c a t e d b y a l a b e l . T h i s I S O F I X m o u n t i n g s y s t e m g u a r a n -
t e e s y o u f a s t , r e l i a b l e a n d s a f e fi t t i n g o f
t h e c h i l d s e a t i n y o u r v e h i c l e .
The
ISOFIX child seats a r e fi t t e d w i t h
t w o l o c k s w h i c h a r e s e c u r e d e a s i l y o n
the two rings A .
Some also have an upper strap which
is attached to the ring B .
To attach this strap, remove the vehi-
c l e s e a t ' s h e a d r e s t r a i n t . T h e n fi x t h e
hook on the ring B and tighten the up-
p e r s t r a p .

new ISOFIX regulation .

Installing a booster seat
The chest part of the seat belt must
be positioned on the child's shoulder
w i t h o u t t o u c h i n g t h e n e c k .
Ensure that the lap part of the seat
b e l t p a s s e s c o r r e c t l y o v e r t h e c h i l d ' s
t h i g h s .

The incorrect installation of a child
seat in a vehicle compromises the
child's protection in the event of an ac-
c i d e n t .
R e m e m b e r t o f a s t e n t h e s e a t b e l t s o r
the child seat harnesses keeping the
s l a c k i n r e l a t i o n t o t h e c h i l d ' s b o d y t o a
m i n i m u m , e v e n f o r s h o r t j o u r n e y s .
For optimum installation of the "for-
ward facing" child seat, ensure that
the back of the child seat is in contact
with the back of the vehicle's seat and
that the head restraint does not cause
a n y d i s c o m f o r t .
If the head restraint has to be removed,
ensure that it is stored or attached se-
c u r e l y t o p r e v e n t i t f r o m b e i n g t h r o w n
around the vehicle in the event of sharp
b r a k i n g .
Children under the age of 10 must not
travel in the "forward facing" position
on the front passenger seat, unless
t h e r e a r s e a t s a r e a l r e a d y o c c u p i e d
b y o t h e r c h i l d r e n , c a n n o t b e u s e d o r
a r e a b s e n t .
Disarm the passenger air bag when
a "rear facing" child seat is installed
o n t h e f r o n t s e a t . O t h e r w i s e , t h e c h i l d
w o u l d r i s k b e i n g s e r i o u s l y i n j u r e d o r
k i l l e d i f t h e a i r b a g w e r e t o i n fl a t e .
