When parking, remove the ignition key and carefully turn the st eering
wheel until the steering lock engages.
Depending on the version of your
vehicle, the following warning
lamps are tested:
If one of these warning lamps
does not light up, this indicates a
malfunction.

Operation
When either the ESP or ASR system is brought into operation, the ESP/
ASR warning lamp lashes.
Deactivation
In exceptional conditions (vehicle stuck in snow, soft ground, e tc.) it may
prove useful to deactivate the ESP/ASR system to allow the wheels to spin
and thus regain traction.
- press control A.
- The ESP/ASR warning lamp lights up, accompanied by an audible signal
and the message ESP/ASR DEACTIVATED on the multifunction screen.
Then the ESP/ASR systems are no longer active.
The ESP/ASR systems will redeploy:
- automatically if the ignition has been switched off or as soon as the
vehicle reaches approx. 50 km/h (approx. 30 mph),
- manually by a renewed press on the control A.
Operational anomaly
If the system is malfunctioning, ESP/ASR warning lamp lights up al ong
with the SERVICE warning lamp, a beep and the message “ESP/ASR
FAULT” on the multifunction screen.
Consult a CITROËN dealer to have the system checked.
Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) and Traction Control (ASR)
These systems are closely connected to the ABS and additional to i
t. In
the event of a loss of control of the vehicle by the driver, the ESP system
acts automatically on one or more brakes and also on the engine to bring
the vehicle back on trajectory. The ASR system optimises traction and
prevents wheel spin by acting on the brakes of the driving whe els. It also
improves steering stability during acceleration. E L E C T R O N I C S T A B I L I T Y P R O G R A M M E
Safety recommendations
The ESP system offers increased
driving safety but is not in place
to encourage the driver to take
additional risks or to drive at
excessive speeds.
The functioning of this system is
subject to compliance with the
manufacturer’s recommendations
on wheels (tyres and rims), brake
parts and electronic components,
as well as with CITROËN’s
assembly and repair procedures.
After any collision, have this
system checked by a CITROËN
dealer.

To deactivate the speed limiter
Press button
3 located on the end of control A.
A mat not approved by CITROËN risks sliding under the a ccelerator pedal, thus preventing you
from pressing past the tight spot.
It will then be impossible to exit from your speed limita tion, unless by resorting to the control
under the steering wheel.
The driver must still remain attentive and in complete co ntrol of the vehicle.
This action causes the information
“OFF” to appear in the instrument panel screen.
The memorised speed remains displayed and is not cancelled.
Temporary exceeding of the maximum speed
You can exceed the memorised maximum speed at any time by pressing th e accelerator pedal hard down past the
tight spot.
During the time the limit speed is being exceeded, the dis played speed lashes.
Simply release the accelerator pedal to return below the limit speed and make the function active again.
Note: if during use of the speed limiter the system is not able to retain the memorised speed (e.g. on a steep
descent), then the speed lashes. If necessary, adjust your driving speed.
The function will re-engage when your speed is again below the desired limit speed.
To cancel the function
- By moving the control from position “LIMIT” to position 0.
- By stopping the engine.
The speed previously chosen is memorised.
In the event of a malfunction , a message is displayed, accompanied by a sound signal and lig hting of the
SERVICE warning lamp. Consult your CITROËN dealer. S P E E D L I M I T E R

104 III
Your vehicle has a loor mat which
covers the entire space in front
of the driver and front passenger
seats.
Note :
this loor mat also covers
the lap that gives access to the
battery on the right hand side (see
“Battery”).
The loor mat is held in position on
each side by a ixing, in the middle
by the centre console pillar. F L O O R M A T
Floor mats that are not recommended by CITROËN run the ri sk
of sliding underneath the accelerator pedal, thus preven ting you
from using the full pedal travel (see “Speed limiter”).
It will then be impossible to exit from your programmed speed
without recourse to the switch module under the steering w heel.
Removing
- Slide the front seats as far as possible rearwards.
- Detach the ixings one by one, pulling on the corresponding
corner of the
loor mat.
- Remove the loor mat.
Reitting
- Position the loor mat correctly.
- Press the ixings back in place one by one.
- Check that the loor mat is properly secured.
Note : loor mats for the rear of the vehicle are available as accessories.
To obtain them, contact a CITROËN dealer.
