Eco-driving
Eco-driving is a range of everyday practices that allow the motorist to optimise their fuel consumption and CO2emissions.
Optimise the use of your
gearbox
With a manual gearbox, move off gently, change up without waiting and drive by changing up quite soon. If your vehicle has the system, the gear efficiency indicator invites you to change up; it is displayed in the instrument panel, follow its instructions.
With an automatic or electronic gearbox, stay in Drive "D"or Auto "A"
, according to the type of gearbox, without pressing theaccelerator pedal heavily or suddenly.
Drive smoothly
Maintain a safe distance between vehicles, useengine braking rather than the brake pedal, and press the accelerator progressively. These practices contribute towards a reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions and also helpsreduce the background traffic noise.

If your vehicle has cruise control, make use of the system at speeds above 25 mph (40 km/h)when the traffic is flowing well.
Control the use of your electrical equipment

Before moving off, if the passenger compartment is too warm, ventilate it byopening the windows and air vents before using the air conditioning.
Above 30 mph (50 km/h), close the windows and leave the air vents open.
Remember to make use of equipment that canhelp keep the temperature in the passenger compartment down (sunroof and windowblinds...). Switch off the air conditioning, unless it has automatic digital regulation, as soon as thedesired temperature is attained.
Switch off the demisting and defrostingcontrols, if not automatic.
Switch off the heated seat as soon as possible.
Switch off the headlamps and front foglamps when the level of light does not require their use.

Avoid running the engine before moving off, particularly in winter; your vehicle will warmup much faster while driving.

As a passenger, if you avoid connecting your multimedia devices (film, music, videogame...), you will contribute towards limitingthe consumption of electrical energy, and soof fuel.
Disconnect your por table devices beforeleaving the vehicle.

Lane departure warning system
System which, using a camera which
recognises solid or broken lines, detects the
involuntary crossing of longitudinal traffic lane markings on the ground.
To provide safe driving, the camera analyses
the image then, if the driver's attention drops,
triggers a warning if the vehicle drifts over a
lane marking (speed higher than 50 mph (80 km/h)).
This system is par ticularly useful on motor waysand main roads.
Activation
)
Press this button, the indicator
lamp comes on.

The lane depar ture warning system
cannot, in any circumstances, replacethe need for vigilance and responsibility on the par t of the driver.
Deactivation
You are warned by the vibration of the driver's seat cushion:
- on the right-hand side, if the marking on theground has been crossed on the right,
- on the left-hand side, if the marking on the ground has been crossed on the left.
No warning is transmitted while the direction indicator is active and for approximately 20 seconds after the direction indicator is switched off.
Detection - alert
Operatin
g fault

The detection may be impeded:

- if the markings on the ground are worn,

- if there is little contrast between the markings on the ground and the road surface.

- if the windscreen is dir ty,

- in certain severe weather conditions: fog, heavy rain, snow, bright sunlight or direct exposure to the sun (low sun, leaving a tunnel, ...) and shade.

)
Press this button again, the
indicator lamp goes off. In the event of a fault, the indicator lamp in the
button flashes.
Contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified
wor
kshop.
The status of the s
ystem remains in the
memory when the ignition is switched off.

Lighting controls System for selection and control of the various front and rear lamps providing the vehicle's lighting and signalling.
Main lighting
There are various lamps on the vehicle:
- sidelamps, to be seen,
- dipped beam headlamps to see without
dazzling other drivers,
- main beam headlamps to see clearly when
the road is clear,
- directional headlamps for improved
v
isibility when cornering.

Additional lighting
Other lamps are installed to fulfil the requirements of par ticular driving conditions:

- rear foglamps to better signal the presence of the vehicle in foggy conditions,

- front foglamps for better visibility in foggyconditions and to improve lighting at
intersections and when parking,

- daytime running lamps to be seen duringthe day.

Automatic lighting
functions

Various automatic lighting functions are also
available depending on options:

- guide-me-home lighting,

- directional headlamps,

- we
lcome lighting,

- daytime running lamps,

- automatic illumination of headlamps,

- automatic headlamp dipping.

The foglamps operate with dipped and main beam headlamps.
Front and rear foglamps
Rotate and release the ring: )forwards a first time to switch on the frontfoglamps, )forwards a second time to switch on therear foglamps,
)rearwards a first time to switch off the rear
foglamps, )rearwards a second time to switch of the front fog lamps. When the headlamps switch off with automatic
illumination of headlamps
(AUTO model) or
when the dipped beam headlamps are switched
off manuall
y, the foglamps and sidelampsremain on.
) Turn the ring rear wards to switch off thefoglamps, the sidelamps will then switch off.

In good or rainy weather, both day and night, the front foglamps and the rear foglamps are prohibited. In these situations, the power of their beams may dazzle other drivers. They shouldonly be used in fog or snow.
In these weather conditions, it is your responsibility to switch on the foglamps and dipped headlamps manually as the sunshine sensor may detect sufficientlight.
Do not forget to switch off the front foglamps and the rear foglamps when they are no longer needed.

switched on automatically, without any action
on the par t of the driver, when a low level of
external light is detected or in certain cases of activation of the windscreen wipers.
As soon as the brightness returns to a sufficient
level or after the windscreen wipers are switched
off, the lamps are switched off automaticall
y.
Automatic illumination of headlamps
Activation
)Turn the ring to the "AU TO "position, automatic illumination of headlamps is activated and a message is displayed in
the screen.

Deactivation
)Turn the ring to another position. Deactivation is accompanied by a message in the screen.

Association with the automatic "Guide-me-home" lighting

Association with the automatic lighting provides
the "guide-me-home" lighting with the followingadditional options after the ignition is switched off:

- selection of the lighting duration of 15, 30or 60 seconds in the vehicle parameters in
the vehicle configuration menu,

- automatic activation of "guide-me-home"lighting when automatic illumination of headlamps is in operation.

Operating fault

In the event of a malfunctionof the sunshine sensor,
the lighting comes on, this
warning lamp is displayed in the instrumentpanel and/or a message appears in the screen,
accompanied by an audible signal.
Contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified
wor
kshop.
In fog or snow, the sunshine sensor may detect sufficient light. In this case, thelighting will not come on automatically. Do not cover the sunshine sensor, coupled with the rain sensor andlocated in the centre of the windscreen behind the rear view mirror;the associated functions would nolonger be controlled.

Parking lamps
Side markers for the vehicle by illumination of
the sidelamps on the traffic side only.)Within one minute of switching off the
ignition, operate the lighting control stalk
up or down depending on the traffic side(for example: when parking on the left; lighting control stalk upwards; the righthand sidelamps are on).
This is confirmed by an audible signal and
illumination of the corresponding direction
indicator warning lamp in the instrument panel.
To switch off the parking lamps, return the
lighting control stalk to the middle position or switch on the ignition. Temporarily keeping the dipped beam
headlamps on a
fter the vehicle's ignition has been switched off makes the exit of the vehicle's
occupants easier when the light is poor.
Manual guide-me-home
li
ghting

Switching on
)
Within one minute after switching of the
ignition, "flash" the headlamps using the lighting stalk.) A further "headlamp flash" switches thefunction off.

Switching off

The manual guide-me-home lighting switches
off automatically after a set time (this time is
pro
grammable in the configuration menu).

The system may suffer interference or not work correctly:

- under conditions of poor visibility(for example, snowfall, heavy rain or thick fog, ...),

- if the windscreen is dir ty, misted or obscured (by a sticker, ...) in front of the camera,

- if the vehicle is facing highly reflective signs.

The system is not able to detect:

- road users that do not have their own lighting, such as pedestrians,

- road users whose lighting isobscured, such as vehicles running behind a safety barrier (on amotorway, for example),

- road users at the top or bottom of a steep slope, on twisty roads, oncrossroads.

Cornering lighting
With dipped or main beams, this function makes use of the beam from a front foglamp to
illuminate the inside of a bend, when the vehicle
speed is below 25 mph (approximately 40 km/h)(urban driving, winding road, intersections, parking manouevres...).w
ith cornering lighting
without cornering lighting

Switching on

This function starts:

- when the corresponding direction indicator
is switched on,
or

-
from a cer tain angle of rotation of the steering wheel.

Switching off
The system does not operate:

- below a cer tain angle of rotation of thesteering wheel,

- above 25 mph (40 km/h),

- when reverse gear is engaged,
