nBack door operation
The back door can be opened even if it is locked. Lock the back door again when
you leave the vehicle. The back door will not lock automatically after it has been
opened and then closed.
nAlarm
Using the wireless remote control to lock the doors will set the alarm system.

nReversing the operation of the power back door
Pressing the wireless remote control switch again while the power back door is
operating will cause the operation to reverse.

When is pressed for longer than
about one second, an alarm will sound inter-
mittently and the vehicle lights will flash to
deter any person from trying to break into or
damage your vehicle.
To stop the alarm, press any button on the
electronic key.

nThe power back door can be operated when
lThe back door is unlocked. (Except for using the back door opener button* or
wireless remote control, when the power back door can be operated even if it is
locked.)
lThe power back door main switch is on.
lTo open the power back door when the “ENGINE START STOP” switch is in
IGNITION ON mode, the power back door main switch must be on, the vehi-
cle speed must be lower than 1 mph (3 km/h) and the shift lever must be in P.
*: This setting must be customized at your Lexus dealer.

nBack door closer (vehicles with a power back door)
In the event that the back door is left slightly open, the back door closer will auto-
matically close it to the fully closed position.
lThe back door closer will operate regardless of the “ENGINE START STOP”
switch mode.
lThe back door can be opened while the back door closer is operating by press-
ing the back door opener button.
Use the back door handle when lowering the
back door.
Do not close the back door fully while still
holding the door handle as an injury may
result.
The luggage compartment lights turn on
when the back door is opened with the lug-
gage compartment light switch on.

Adjust the height of the rear view
mirror by moving it up and down.
In automatic mode, sensors are used to detect the headlights of vehicles
behind and the reflected light is automatically reduced.

1-6. Theft deterrent system

Before driving
Alarm
The system sounds the alarm and flashes the lights when forcible entry is
detected.
nTriggering of the alarm
The alarm is triggered in the following situations when the alarm is
set:
lA locked door is unlocked or opened in any way other than using
the entry function, wireless remote control or mechanical key.
lThe hood is opened.
lSome models: The back door window is tapped or broken.
nSetting the alarm system
Close the doors and hood, and
lock all the doors.
The system will be set automati-
cally after 30 seconds.
The indicator light changes from
being on to flashing when the
system is set.
nDeactivating or stopping the alarm
Do one of the following to deactivate or stop the alarms:
lUnlock the doors.
lTurn the “ENGINE START STOP” switch to ACCESSORY or
IGNITION ON mode, or start the engine. (The alarm will be
deactivated or stopped after a few seconds.)

SRS airbag system components
Your vehicle is equipped with ADVANCED AIRBAGS designed based
on US motor vehicle safety standards (FMVSS208). The airbag system
controls airbag deployment power for the driver and front passenger. The
driver airbag system consists of the driver’s seat position sensor etc. The
front passenger’s airbag system consists of the front passenger occupant
classification sensor etc.
