your seat belt.&WARNING Risk of injury due to head
restraints not being installed or being
adjusted incorrectly
If head restraints have not been installed or
have not been adjusted correctly, there is an increased risk of injury in the head and neck
area, e.g. in the event of an accident or when
braking.
Always drive with the head restraints
installed.Before driving oM, make sure for every
vehicle occupant that the center of the
head restraint supports the back of the
head at about eye level.Do not interchange the head restraints of the front and rear seats. Otherwise, you will not be
able to adjust the height and angle of the head restraints correctly.Adjust the head restraint fore-and-as position so
that it is as close as possible to the back of your head.To raise: pull the head restraint up.To lower: press release knob 1 in the direc-
tion of the arrow and push the head restraint
down.To move forward: press release knob 2 and
pull the head restraint forward.To move backwards: press release knob 2
and push the head restraint backwards.
Adjusting the front seat luxury head restraints
manually
To move forward: press release knob 1 and
pull the head restraint forward.To move backwards: press release knob 1

adjust the seat backrest inclination using the button on the door operating unit.
Adjusting the head restraints of the rear seats
mechanically
Depending on the vehicle equipment, you can
mechanically adjust the head restraints on the third row of seats as well as the center headrestraint on the second row of seats.
Head restraint of the standard vehicle (example)
To raise: pull the head restraint up.To lower (standard vehicle): press release
knob 1 in the direction of the arrow and
push the head restraint down.To lower (Mercedes-Maybach vehicles): push

Vehicles with a third row of seats
The head restraints on the third row of seats have a usage position and a non-usage position. Theusage position is the extended, top position in
which the head restraint engages; the non-usage
position is the bottom, retracted position of the
head restraint. If the seats on the third row of
seats are being used, the head restraint must be in the top, engaged usage position.If the third row of seats is occupied: move the
head restraints to the very top and have them
engage there.If the third row of seats is not occupied: move
the head restraints to the very bottom.Installing/removing the head restraint of the mid-
dle rear seat on the second row
RemovingRelease the middle rear seat backrest and fold
it forward slightly (  page 130).Pull the head restraint upwards as far as it will
go.Push release knob 1 in the direction of the
arrow and pull out the head restraint.
Installing
Insert the head restraint such that the notches on the bar are on the les when viewed in the
direction of travel.Push the head restraint down until it engages.Fold the middle rear seat backrest back until it engages.
Adjusting the luxury head restraints of the rear
seats mechanically
Mercedes-Maybach vehicles: you can set only the
side bolsters mechanically. You can adjust the angle of the head restraint electrically.

To adjust the side bolsters of the head restraint: pull or push right or les side bolster
1 .To adjust the angle of the head restraint: pull
or push the head restraint in the direction of
arrow 2.
Attaching and removing the additional cushion of
the luxury head restraint in the rear passenger
compartment
Use the additional cushion only when the vehicle
is stationary. The additional cushion is in the vehi-
cle.
Position the head restraint as far forwards as
possible.To attach the additional cushion: hold addi-
tional cushion 1 against the head restraint
and push press studs 2 into the counterpie-
ces.
The push button on the bottom of the head
restraint is located in a recess.To remove the additional cushion: release
press studs 2 and remove additional cushion

Setting automatic seat adjustment&WARNING Risk of becoming trapped dur-
ing adjustment of the driver\bs seat aser
calling up a driver proNle
Selecting a user proNle may trigger an adjust-
ment of the driver\bs seat to the position saved
under the user proNle. You or other vehicle
occupants could be injured in the process.
Make sure that when the position of driv-
er\bs seat is being adjusted using the mul-
timedia system, no people or body parts
are in the seat\bs range of movement.
If there is a risk of someone becoming trap-
ped, stop the adjustment process immedi-
ately:
a) Tap the warning message on the media display.
or
b) Press a memory position button or a
seat adjustment switch on the driver\bs
door.
The adjustment process will be stopped.Requirements
= Adapting the driver\bs seat and steering wheel
position to body size: automatic seat adjust- ment has been switched on.

Switching automatic seat adjustment on/oM
When the active user proNle is changed while the
vehicle is stationary, the driver\bs seat, steering
wheel, outside mirrors and seat contour will auto-
matically be adapted to the driver.Select On or Off.\bThis setting is available only for individual user
proNles. For the guest proNle, automatic seat
adjustment cannot be switched on or oM.
Adjusting driver\bs seat and steering wheel position
to body size
The vehicle calculates a suitable driver\bs seat and steering wheel position on the basis of the driver\bsbody size and sets this directly.
To set the unit of measurement: select cm or
ft/in .Set the size using the scale.Select Start Positioning .
The driver\bs seat and steering wheel position
is adjusted to the body size that has been set.\bIf the driver\bs seat and steering wheel position calculated by the vehicle is not practical or
comfortable, it can be manually changed at
any time via the buttons.
The exterior mirrors are not set via this func-
tion. Instead, they have to be set manually via
the switches.\bYou can also conNgure these settings via the
Mercedes me portal for your user proNle. By
synchronizing the proNles in the vehicle and
the Mercedes me connect proNles, you can
carry over these settings for your vehicle.
Setting the easy entry and exit feature

\bIf you use an individual user proNle and have
set your body size, this information is carried over for the easy entry and exit feature. This
will cause the driver\bs seat and steering wheel
to move into the correct position automati-
cally .
Overview of massage programs
= Hot Relaxing Back Combination of heat and
massage. It starts by massaging the back. In addition, warm pressure points become
noticeable, starting in the pelvic area.
= Hot Relaxing Shoulder Combination of heat
and massage. It starts by massaging the shoulders. In addition, warm pressure points
become noticeable, starting in the pelvic area.
= Activating Massage Activating massage with
upward-moving massage waves.
= Classic Massage Relaxing back massage.
= Wave Massage Regenerating massage via
massage waves across the back and in the
seat cushion.
= Mobilizing Massage Mobilizing massage with
upward-moving massage waves. Can promote
deeper respiration and hence improve circula-
tion and blood pressure.
= Active Workout, Backrest and Active Work-
out, Cushion These programs require your
cooperation. Alternating between tensing and releasing helps to improve blood Oow to your
muscles. Press against a pressure point as
soon as you feel it.

Switching the seat heating on/oM&WARNING Risk of burns due to repeatedly
switching on the seat heating
Repeatedly switching on the seat heating can
cause the seat cushion and seat backrest pad-
ding to become very hot.
In particular, the health of persons with limited
temperature sensitivity or a limited ability to
react to high temperatures may be aMected or
they may even suMer burn-like injuries.
Do not repeatedly switch on the seat
heating.To protect against overheating, the seat heating
may be temporarily deactivated aser it has been
switched on repeatedly.*NOTE Damage to the seats caused by
objects or documents when the seat heat-
ing is switched on
When the seat heating is switched on, over-
heating may occur due to objects or docu-
ments placed on the seats, e.g. seat cushions
or child seats. This could cause damage to the seat surface.Make sure that no objects or documents
are on the seats when the seat heating is
switched on.
Requirements: = The power supply is switched on.

Seat heating in the rear passenger compartmentSeat heating in the third row of seats
Press button 1 repeatedly until the desired
heating level is set.
Depending on the heating level, up to three
indicator lamps will light up. If all indicator
lamps are oM, the seat heating is switched oM.\bThe seat heating will automatically switch
down from the three heating levels aser 8, 10and 20 minutes until the seat heating is
switched oM.

When the seat heater is switched on, the armr- ests, the door center panel and the center con-
sole can be heated.
Switch the function for the desired seats on or

Switching the seat ventilation on/oM

Press button 1 repeatedly until the desired
ventilation level is set. Depending on the ventilation level, up to three
indicator lamps will light up. If all indicator
lamps are oM, the seat ventilation is switched
oM.Steering wheel
Adjusting the steering wheel mechanically
&WARNING Risk of accident due to adjust-
ing the vehicle settings while the vehicle is
in motion
You could lose control of the vehicle in the fol-
lowing situations in particular:
= If you adjust the driver\bs seat, the head
restraint, the steering wheel or the mirror while the vehicle is in motion
= If you fasten your seat belt while the vehi-
cle is in motion
Before starting the vehicle: in particular,
adjust the driver\bs seat, head restraint,
steering wheel and mirror, and fasten
your seat belt.&WARNING Risk of entrapment for children
when adjusting the steering wheel
Children could injure themselves if they adjust
the steering wheel.

Never leave children unattended in thevehicle.When leaving the vehicle, always take the SmartKey with you and lock the vehicle.
Unlocking
Fold release lever 1 down as far as it will go.Adjust height 2 and distance 3 to the
steering wheel.
Locking
Fold release lever 1 up as far as it will go.Check and make sure that the steering col-
umn is locked by moving the steering wheel.
Adjusting the steering wheel electrically
