Alternative routes are calculated for every

If the requirements are met, the multimedia
system automatically detects that the vehicle
is on a commuter route. Route guidance

symbol on the media display. The camera image will be shown instead of

Displaying the traPc situation with Live TraPc
InformationSelect =.Activate Traffic.Select Advanced .Select View.Select Map Elements .Activate Traffic Incidents , Free Flowing Traffic
and Delay .
If traPc information has been received, then
traPc incidents such as roadworks, road
blocks, local area reports (e.g. fog) and warn-
ing messages are displayed.
The traPc delay is displayed for the current
route. TraPc delays lasting one minute or lon-
ger are taken into consideration.Displaying hazard warnings with Car-to-X commu-
nication
If hazard warnings are available these can be
shown as symbols on the map. The display
depends on the settings for the Traffic and Traf-
fic Incidents options.Set the options.
If Traffic is switched oM and Traffic Incidents
is switched on, the symbols are shown on the
prospective route.
Displaying weather information and other map contents
Select =.Select Advanced .Select View.Select Map Elements .Scroll up and show the ONLINE MAP CON-
TENT category.Switch on a service, e.g. Weather.
Current weather information is displayed on
the navigation map, e.g. temperature or cloud

If the vehicle height is greater than the maxi- mum permitted headroom clearance, the roof
and other parts of the vehicle may be dam-
aged.

and use of the dashcam can vary depending
on the country in which the dashcam is oper-
ated.
This function is not permitted in all countries.Before using the dashcam, inform your- self about the content of the legal regu-
lations, in particular the data protection

lar the data protection regulations.
Selecting a USB device for a video recording with the dashcam
Requirements: = At least one USB device is connected with the
multimedia system .

Select the USB device.\bWhen USB devices contain multiple partitions,
recorded video Nles are not always displayed
in the recording list. Mercedes-Benz recommends that you use
USB devices with one partition.
Starting or stopping video recording with the dashcam
Requirements: = A USB device is connected with the multime-
dia system .
= The vehicle is switched on.

If several USB devices are connected with the
multimedia system, select a USB device
(  page 313).Select the Individual Recording or Loop
Recording recording mode.
If Individual Recording is selected and the
memory is full the recording stops.If Loop Recording has been selected, several
short video Nles are recorded. When the mem-
ory limit is reached, the oldest video Nle is
deleted and recording is continued automati-
cally.To start: select Start Recording .
The length of the recording is shown. The Please do not remove the storage medium.
message appears. The video Nle is stored on
the USB device.To end: select End Recording .
A report may appear in the following cases:
= For the Individual Recording recording mode:
the memory is full or there are only a few
minutes recording time available. The video
recording stops or will be stopped imminently.
Change the USB device or delete a video Nle.
= If a video recording has started and a national
border is detected, the National Border
Crossed. Please observe the country-spe-
cific regulations on video recording. message
appears.

Notes on telephony
&WARNING Risk of distraction from operat-
ing integrated communication equipment
while the vehicle is in motion
If you operate communication equipment inte-
grated in the vehicle when driving, you could
be distracted from the traPc situation. This
could also cause you to lose control of the
vehicle.
Only operate this equipment when the
traPc situation permits.If you cannot be sure of this, stop the
vehicle whilst paying attention to roadand traPc conditions and operate the
equipment with the vehicle stationary.&WARNING Risk of accident from operating
mobile communication equipment while
the vehicle is in motion
Mobile communication devices distract the
driver from the traPc situation. This can also
cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
As a driver, only operate mobile commu-
nication devices when the vehicle is sta-
tionary.As a vehicle occupant, use mobile com-
munication devices only in the designa-
ted area, e.g. in the rear passenger com-
partment.You must observe the legal requirements for the
country in which you are currently driving when
operating mobile communication equipment in
the vehicle.&WARNING Risk of injury due to objects
being stowed incorrectly
If objects in the vehicle interior are stowed
incorrectly, they can slide or be thrown around
and hit vehicle occupants. In addition, cup
holders, open stowage spaces and mobile
phone receptacles cannot always retain all
objects within.
There is a risk of injury, particularly in the
event of sudden braking or a sudden change
in direction.
Always stow objects so that they cannot
be thrown around in such situations.Always make sure that objects do not
protrude from stowage spaces, parcel
nets or stowage nets.Close the lockable stowage spaces before starting a journey.Always stow and secure heavy, hard,
pointed, sharp-edged, fragile or bulky
objects in the trunk/cargo compart-

Press me button 1.
Making an emergency call
To open the cover of SOS button 2 , press it
brieOy.Press and hold SOS button 3 for at least one
second.
If a Mercedes me call is active, an emergency call
can still be triggered. This has priority over all
other active calls.
Information about the Mercedes me call
A call to the Mercedes-Benz customer center has
been initiated via the me button in the overhead
control panel or the multimedia system(  page 318).
Using the voice dialog system you access the desired service:
= Accident and Breakdown Management
= Mercedes-Benz customer center for general
information about the vehicle
