Tyre under-infl ation
warning light
This indicates that the tyre
pressure is too low.
A message on the multifunction display
indicates the wheel(s) concerned.
Refer to the information label affi xed to
the central pillar of the driver's door. For
your safety, check the tyre pressures
as soon as possible.

Handbrake warning light
This indicates that the hand-
brake is still applied or has
not been released correctly.
It is linked with the braking system
warning light.
Low wash-wipe and
headlamp wash fl uid level
warning light
When the wipers are switched
on, this indicates that the fl uid
level is too low.
Fill the wash-wipe and headlamp wash
fl uid reservoir.
Battery charge warning
light
When the engine is running,
this indicates a charging circuit
malfunction (battery terminals,
alternator belt).
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer. Engine oil level warning
light
This indicates a low engine
oil level.

Stop immediately.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
WARNING LIGHTS WHICH ARE DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL SCREEN
STOP warning light
It comes on linked with the
engine oil pressure, cool-
ant temperature, power
steering, braking system
or punctured tyre warning lights.

Stop immediately.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Low coolant level warning
light (according to
version)
This warning light indicates
an insuffi cient cooling circuit
level.

Stop immediately.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Warning: the cooling circuit is pres-
surised, wait for the engine to cool
down before topping up the level.
When topping up, and in order
to prevent any risk of scalding,
unscrew the cap by two turns
to allow the pressure to drop.
When the pressure has dropped, re-
move the cap and top up the level with
coolant. Power steering warning
light
This indicates a power steering
fault.
It is linked with the STOP warning light.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.

Coolant temperature indicator
When the needle is in zone A , the
temperature is correct.
When the needle is in zone B , the
temperature is too high.
If the coolant temperature
warning light comes on (linked
with the STOP warning light),
stop immediately.
Wait for the engine to cool
down before topping up the level, if
necessary.
As the cooling circuit is pres-
surised, in order to prevent
any risk of scalding, unscrew
the cap by two turns to allow
the pressure to drop.
When the pressure has dropped, remove
the cap and top up the level with coolant,
if necessary.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
This indicates an automatic
gearbox programme fault.
Automatic gearbox lever position indicator lights
Automatic gearbox fault
warning light
This indicates an automatic
gearbox fault.
The gearbox will operate in down-grade
mode, locked in 3rd gear.
Never force the selector lever.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.

ted with the gate lever position indicator
lights, corresponds to the Sport or Snow
programme selected intentionally. "Manual" indicator lights
These correspond to the manual control
of the gearbox.
When the engine speed is too low or too
high in relation to the gear engaged, the
gear selected fl ashes for a few seconds,
then the actual gear is displayed, the
auto-adaptive programme having taken
control temporarily.

To maintain the reliability of
engines and emission control
systems, the use of additives
in engine oil is prohibited. Cooling system CHECKING THE LEVELS
These are normal maintenance opera-
tions which keep your vehicle in good
working order. Consult the instruc-
tions in the PEUGEOT network, on
the Service Box site or in the servicing
booklet enclosed with this handbook.
Dipstick There are two marks on
the dipstick:

A = maximum
Never fi ll past this mark.

B = minimum
Oil level

 Check the level regularly and top
up between changes.
Check the level with the vehicle level,
the engine having been off for more
than 15 minutes, using the dipstick.
Important: if you have to re-
move/refi t the engine style cover,
handle it with care to avoid
damaging the fi xing clips. Oil change
It is imperative that this is carried out
at the intervals specifi ed and the visco-
sity of the oil chosen must meet the
requirements laid down in the manu-
facturer's servicing schedule. Consult
the instructions in the PEUGEOT
network or on the Service Box site.

Note: avoid used oil coming into
prolonged contact with the skin.
Empty the used oil into the containers
provided for this purpose in the
PEUGEOT network.
Oil filter
Replace the cartridge regularly in
accordance with the recommenda-
tions of the servicing schedule.
Brake fluid change
Use the fl uid recommended by the
manufacturer, which fulfi ls DOT4
Standards.
It is imperative that the brake fl uid is
changed at the intervals specifi ed in
accordance with the manufacturer's
servicing schedule.

Note: avoid all contact with the skin,
the brake fl uid is harmful to health and
very corrosive. Use only the fl uid recommended
by the manufacturer.

Note: the coolant does not need to be
changed.
When the engine is warm, the tempera-
ture of the coolant is controlled by the
engine fan. As this fan can operate with
the ignition key removed and because
the cooling system is pressurised, wait
for at least one hour after the engine
has stopped before carrying out any
work.
Slacken the cap to the fi rst
notch to release the pressure to
prevent any risk of scalding.
When the pressure has dropped,
remove the cap and top up the level with
coolant.

The engine fan can operate
after the vehicle has stopped.

In all cases, pay attention to the coolant
temperature.
Brakes: towing increases the braking
distance. Drive at a moderate speed,
change down early and brake gradually.

Side wind: sensitivity to side wind is
increased. Drive smoothly and at a
moderate speed. TOWING A TRAILER, CARAVAN, BOAT, ETC...
We recommend the use of original
PEUGEOT towbars which have been
tested and approved from the design
stage of your vehicle and that the tow-
bar is fi tted by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Driving advice

Distribution of loads: distribute the
load in the trailer so that the heavi-
est loads are as close as possible to
the axle and the nose weight is close
to the maximum authorised without,
however, exceeding it.

Cooling: towing a trailer on a slope in-
creases the coolant temperature.
As the fan is electrically controlled, its
cooling capacity is not dependent on
the engine speed.
Note: in certain cases of par-
ticularly arduous use (towing
the maximum load in high
temperatures), the engine au-
tomatically limits its power and selects
the appropriate automatic gearbox
gear in manual mode. In this case,
cutting off the air conditioning allows
the engine power to be recovered, and
therefore the towing capacity to be in-
creased.
If the coolant temperature
warning light comes on, stop
the vehicle and switch off the
engine as soon as possible.

Tyres: check the tyre pressures of the
towing vehicle (label on the central
door pillar on the driver's side) and of
the trailer towed, observing the recom-
mended pressure.
