THE KEYS The keys allow you to switch on the ignition and operate thepassenger air bag disarmingswitch as well as to independentlyoperate the locks on the frontdoors, the fuel filler cap and theglove box. Central locking
From the driver's door, the keys allow you to lock and unlock thefront, passenger and rear doors. If one of the doors is open, it is impossible to operate the centrallocking. The remote control performs the same functions at a distance.The remote control key Locking ➜
Press button Ato lock the
vehicle. This is confirmed by fixed lighting of the direction indi-cators for approximately twoseconds.
Unlocking Press button Bto unlock the
vehicle. This is confirmed by rapid flashing of the direction indicators. STARTING
STOP position:
the ignition is off. 1st notch, MAR (Accessories) position:
the ignition is off but
the accessories can be used. A VV (Starting) position:
Operates the starter.P ARK position:
position enabling you to leave the side lights on when parked,
with the ignition off and the keyremoved.

SERVICE INDICATOR Located on the instrument panel with the total distance recorder (total andtrip distances), this programmes ser-vice intervals depending on the useof the vehicle. Operation Afew moments after the ignition has
been switched on, the spanner sym- bolising a service lights up; the dis-play for the total distance recordertells you (in round figures) the dis-tance remaining before your nextservice. Example: 4 800 km remain before
the next service is due. When the ignition is switched on and for a fewseconds, the display shows: A
few seconds after the ignition is
switched on, the total distance recor-der resumes normal operation andthe display shows the total andor tripdistances. The distance remaining before the next service is less than 1 000 km Each time the ignition is switched on and for a few seocnds, the servicespanner and the distance flash. A few seconds after the ignition is
switched on, the distance recorder resumes normal operation and the
service spanner remains lit. Thisindicates that a service should be
carried out shortly. The service is overdue Each time the ignition is switched on and for a few seconds, the symboland the excess distance flash untilthe service is carried out. A
few seconds after the ignition is
switched on, the distance recorder resumes normal operation and theservice spanner remains lit.

Low coolant level warning light
Lighting of this warning light indicates that the coolant level is too low.
Stop immediately.
W arning: allow the engine to cool before topping up.
The cooling circuit is pressurised.Any avoid any risk of scalding, unscrew the cap by two turns to allow the pres- sure to drop. When the pressure has dropped, remove the cap and top up.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.

Engine oil pressure warning light This comes on for a few seconds when the ignition is switched on. Lighting of this warning light while the engine is running indicates that
the oil pressure or level is too low.
Stop immediately. If there is a lack of oil in the lubrication circuit, top it up.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible.
INSTRUMENTS AND CONTROLS A warning light which comes on permanently or flashes while the engine is
running indicates an operating fault. The lighting of certain warning lights may be accompanied by a bleep and a message on the multifunction dis-
play. Do not ignore this warning: contact your PEUGEOT deal as soon aspossible.
Handbrake warning light This comes on for a few seconds when the ignition is
switched on. Lighting of this warning light indi- cates that the handbrake is applied
or has not been released correctly.Coolant temperature warning light This comes on for a few seconds when the ignition is
switched on. Lighting of this warning light indi- cates an abnormal increase in thecoolant temperature.
Stop immediately.

Configuration-Connect The "Day brightness" and "Night
brightness" functions enable you to
set day and night brightness values
independently. The "Colours" function controls dis-
playing on the day or night setting or changes the setting automatically inrelation to the light in the passengercompartment or switching on of thelights. The "Voice mess. language" and
"Text mess. language" functions
enable you to choose the language for voice recognition and SMS messages(Italian, German, English, Spanish,French, Portuguese, Dutch). The "Distance unit" function enables
you to choose the distance unit for the trip computer calculations (km ormiles). Note: to choose the language and
the distance unit, insert the configu- ration CD-ROM. Fleet Management The
"Fleet Management" function
permits locating of the vehicle by means of the automatic transmissionof SMS messages to a controlcentre.
To have the SMS messages sent,
you must: - activate the "Send position" func- tion,
- select a type of interval in the"Cycle type" function,
- set the duration of the interval in
the "Transmission interval" func-tion,
- enter the registration number in the
"Vehicle Ident." function,
- enter the telephone number of the
control centre in the "TelephoneNumber" function,
- insert the SIM card.

fold the key into the remote control casing. Central locking

To
locate your car, if you have locked
it, in a car park: ☞ press button A. The courtesy
lights come on and the direction indicators flash for a fewseconds.

Programming the remote control ☞Switch off the ignition.
☞ Switch the ignition on again.
☞ Immediately press button A.
☞ Switch off the ignition and remo- ve the remote control key from
the ignition lock. The remotecontrol is now working again.
Confidential Card The confidential card is necessary for any work carried out by a
PEUGEOT dealer on the system. It contains:
-a five digit identification code 1
necessary for the emergency star- ting procedure,
- a code 2for reproduction of your
keys by a PEUGEOT dealer.
These codes are hidden by a film,which should be removed only if
necessary. Keep your card in a safe place, never inside the vehicle.
Key in ignition A buzzer sounds on opening the dri-
ver's door, if the key has been left in the ignition. Changing the battery of the remote control If the indicator light on the key lights only once, or does not light at allwhen the button is pressed, change
the battery.
To
do this, unclip the casing using a
coin at the ring (CR2032/3 volt battery).If the remote control does not work after the battery has been changed,reinitialise the remote control.
ELECTRONIC ENGINE IMMOBILISER This locks the engine control system as soon as the ignition has been
switched off and therefore preventsstarting of the vehicle by anyone
who does not have the key. The ignition key has an electronic chip which has a special code.When the ignition is switched on, thecode must be recognised for startingto be possible. If the system does not function
correctly, the electronic immobiliser
key indicator light, situated on theinstrument panel, flashes rapidlywhen the ignition is switched on(2nd notch). In this case your vehicle will not start.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible. If the electronic immobiliser key indi- cator light comes on continuously
when the ignition is switched on(2nd notch), check the identificationof your key or this indicates an ope-
rating anomaly.
