interrogatedandgoesoutwhentheengineisstartedifthecheckisnotyetcomplete.IftheABSwarninglampfailstogoout,thisindicatesthatABShasbeendeactivatedduetoafault.Ifthewarninglightsintheinstrumentpanelandon-boardcomputerlightupwhileyouaredriving,thisindicatesthatafaulthasoccurred.Inbothcases,normalbraking,asinvehicleswithoutABS,isstillretained.
TheABSsystemshould,however,beexaminedatanauthorizedPorschedealerimmediatelytopreventtheoccurrenceoffurtherfaults.
IftheABSsystembecomesinoperative,takeyourvehicletoyourauthorizedPorschedealerimmediately.

Additionalfunctionsforvehicleswith
four-wheeldrive
–Pre-fillingthebrakesystem:Ifyousuddenlyandquicklytakeyourfootofftheacceleratorpedal,thebrakesystemgetspreparedforpossibleemergencybraking.Thebrakesystemispre-filledwhichlightlypressesthebrakepadsonthebrakediscs.
Brakeboost:Ifemergencybrakingdoesnothavesufficientpedalpressure,thebrakeboostproducesthebrakepressurenecessaryformaximumdecelerationonall4wheels.
ThePSMshouldalwaysbeswitchedon
during“normal”driving.
However,itmaybeadvantageoustoswitchoffPSMtemporarilyinexceptionalsituations,forexample:
–Onaloosesurfaceorindeepsnow,
–When“rockingthevehiclefree”and
–Whenusingsnowchains.
SwitchingoffPSM
PressPSMOFFbutton.PSMisswitchedoffafterashortdelay.Thelight-emittingdiodeinthebuttonisilluminated.WhenthePSMisswitchedoff,themultifunctionalPSMlightontheinstrumentpanelislitandamessageisshownbytheon-boardcomputer.Anacousticsignalalsosounds.

WhenPSMisswitchedoff,theadditionalbrakingfunctionsaredeactivated.Theautomaticreactiva-tioninemergencysituationsiscoupledtothePSMcontrolinemergencysituations.
