Program button (PROG)
If a c assette is c urrently b eing p layed , the PROG b utton c an b e
p ressed to switc h from the A-sid e to the B-sid e or vic e-versa.
Fast-forward button (FF)
To fast-forward the tap e, p ress the “FF ” b utton. To stop fast-forward -
ing , lig htly p ress the “PLAY ” b utton.
If the “FF ” b utton is p ressed twic e suc c essively d uring p layb a c k, the
p layer will fast-forward the tap e to the end of the c urrent song and
resume the p layb ac k from the b eg inning of the next song .
Rewind button (REW)
To rewind the tap e, p ress the “REW ” b utton. To stop rewind ing , lig htly
p ress the “PLAY ” b utton.
If the “REW ” b utton is p ressed twic e suc c essively d uring p layb a c k,
the p layer will rewind the tap e up to the b eg inning of the c urrent song
and resume the p layb ac k from its b eg inning . Repeat button (RPT)
If the RPT b utton is p ressed while a song on a c ass ette tap e is b eing
p layed , the c assette p layer will then b eg in to p lay that song rep eated -
ly. Press the RPT b utton onc e ag ain to return to no rmal p layb ac k.
Dolby B NR button (B NR)
Press “B NR ” b utton when p laying tap es rec ord ed using the Dolb y
NR system*. Hig h-freq uenc y noise on the tap e will b e red uc ed for
c learer sound rep rod uc tion.

To play back a compact disc
n When CD is not in the player
Hold a d isc with a fing er in the c enter hole while g rip p ing the ed g e of
the d isc , then insert it in to the slot (with the l ab el sid e up ) and the
p layer will automatic ally p ull the d isc into p ositi on.
Sing le CDs (8 c m/3 inc h CD) may also b e used withou t an ad ap ter.
After inserting , the DISC IN ind ic ator (LED) will c ome on and p layb ac k
start. NOTE Make sure to always insert a disc with the label side up. If a
disc is inserted with the label side down, it might be ejected or the player might shut off.

If a disc is inserted during a radio broadcast, the disc will
interrupt the broadcast. After the last song finishes, the disc will automatically return
to track 1 (the first song on the disc) and will automatically playback. n When CD is in the player

more than 2 sec ond s to fast reverse the d isc .
Release the knob to stop fast reverse. Repeat
Press the “A.S/RPT ” b utton while a song is p laying to p lay the song
rep eated ly. The “RPT ” ind ic ator will c ome on and the song will b e
p layed c ontinuously. To c anc el the rep eat mod e, p re ss the b utton
ag ain. Then the “RPT ” ind ic ator g oes out, and normal p layb ac k mod e
is restored . To stop playback
Press the p ower switc h to stop p layb ac k. To eject a disc from the player
When a d isc is b eing p layed b ac k or when a d isc is in the p layer,
p ress the ejec t b utton “

The d isc may b e removed even when the ig nition swit c h is in the

To start playback
When the “DISC ” b utton is p ressed , the CD c hang er will start p lay-
b ac k. NOTE If the “DISC” button is pressed during a radio broadcast, the

5-50CD changer will interrupt the broadcast.
At the end of the disc, playback automatically continues with
the next disc. After playback on the last disc finishes, the disc will automati-
cally return to the first disc (or first disc of the first magazine) andwill automatically play back. If you have loaded fewer than 6 discs, any missing disc is
automatically skipped. Selection of a desired disc
You c an selec t a d esired d isc from among the d isc s c ontained in the
mag azines only b y p ressing the c orresp ond ing numb er one of the
d isc selec t b uttons. If you are to listen to the 7t h d isc in the d oub le
mag azine (12 d isc s), for examp le, it is selec ted fi rst b y selec ting “M2 ”
( “ M2 ” means 2nd mag azine) with the “DISC ” b utton and then p ress-
ing the “1 ” b utton of the d isc selec t b uttons. All other d isc s in the
mag azines c an also b e selec ted in a similar way. NOTE No disc change takes place if the button corresponding to the
magazine slot in which no disc is loaded is pressed. If the direct disc button corresponding to the disc now in play-
back is pressed again, the disc will be replayed from its begin-ning. To select a song from its beginning

Any disc with a peel-off or seal on it.

Do not insert or remove any disc when the automatic transmis-
sion selector lever is in the park position; the selector lever in that position can interfere with disc insertion or removal, causing
scratches on the disc surface (for AT vehicles).

To insert a disc
Be sure to hold a d isc with the lab el sid e (the sid e where titles are
p rinted ) up .
Push the d isc into the slot.
The d isc will b e automatic ally set in p osition b y t he auto-load ing
mec hanism and b eg in p laying .
The d isc ind ic ator will turn on as the CD b eg ins p l aying .
n Disc indicator
Lit: A d isc is in the slot (When the ig nition switc h is in the “ON ” or
“ ACC ” p osition).
OFF: No d isc is load ed or the ig nition switc h is in the “Loc k ” p osition.
To remove disc left in slot
Simp ly p ress the “Ejec t b utton ”
3 and the d isc will b e ejec ted . This
p roc ed ures is effec tive even when the ig nition swit c h is in the “LOCK ”
p osition. n Function control
