To hook the top tether
n Sedan CAUTION
When the child restraint system is to be secured using the top
tether, always pass the top tether under the headrest between theheadrest stay posts. If the top tether is routed over the headrest,it may not be properly tensioned, resulting in an unsteady childrestraint system.

1. Remove the head rest at the seating p osition where the c hild seat
has b een installed with the seatb elt or lower anc ho rag es; lift up the
head rest while p ressing the release b utton.
2. Fasten the top tether hook of the c hild safety to the ap p rop riate up -
p er anc horag e.

3. Tig hten the top tether sec urely.
4. Reinstall the head rest in suc h a way that the top tether is routed
b etween the head rest stay p osts. n Station wagon CAUTION
Always remove the headrest when mounting a child restraint sys-
tem with a top tether. Otherwise, it may happen that the top tether
cannot be fastened tightly.
