Windshield heating is used to quickly removecondensation and ice from the windshield.

A button in the center console is used to quicklyaccess windshield heating.

–Press the button repeatedly to switchbetween the three levels:

Deactivated.
>The heated windshield and max defrosterare activated/deactivated and the buttonlights up/goes out.

NOTE
Triangular areas at the far sides of the wind-shield are not heated and will take slightlylonger to defrost/de-ice.

The heated windshield may affect the per-formance of transponders and other commu-nication equipment.

Activating and deactivating
automatic windshield heating*
Windshield heating is used to quickly removecondensation and ice from the windshield.
Windshield heating can be set to automaticallyactivate when the engine is started. With auto-matic start activated, heating will be activatedwhen there is a risk of ice or condensation on thewindows or mirrors. Heating is automaticallyswitched off when the window or door mirror issufficiently warm and the condensation or ice isgone.
1.Tap Settings in the Top view in the centerdisplay.
2.Tap Climate.
3.Select Auto Front Defroster to activate/deactivate automatic windshield heating.

Setting the blower speed for therear seats
The blower can be set to several different auto-matically controlled speeds for the rear seat.

1. Open Climate view in the center display andselect the Rear climate tab.
2.Tap the desired blower speed, 1-5.
The blower speed for the rear seats can beswitched off by tapping 2nd row climate.
> The blower speed will be changed and thebuttons for the set speed will light up.

The blower speed for the rear seat cannot beset if the blower speed for the front seat isOff.

NOTE
The climate system automatically adapts air-flow as needed within the set blower speed,which means that airflow speed may varyslightly within the same blower speed.

Setting the temperature for the rear

1. Tap the unlock button on the tunnel con-sole's climate panel to access the controls.

> The temperature will be changed and theclimate panel screen will show the newtemperature.
NOTE
Heating/cooling cannot be accelerated bychoosing a higher/lower temperature thanthe desired temperature.

Synchronize temperature
The temperature in the different climate zones ofthe vehicle can be synchronized with the tem-perature set for the driver's side.

1. Tap the driver&#39;s side temperature button inthe center display&#39;s climate bar to open thecontrol.
2.Tap Synchronize temperature .
> The temperature for all of the vehicle&#39;s cli-mate zones will be synchronized with theone set for the driver&#39;s side and the syn-chronization symbol will be displayed nextto the temperature button.
Synchronization is stopped with another press onSynchronize temperature or by changing thetemperature setting for a climate zone other thanthe driver&#39;s.

In rear door *
Lock button with indicator light in rear door.
Illuminated indicator lights in each door indicatethat that particular door is locked. If any door isunlocked and opened, the indicator light in thatdoor will go out. The lights in the other doors willremain illuminated.

Lock confirmation settings
Settings for how the vehicle confirms lockingand unlocking can be adjusted in the center dis-play's Settings menu.
Locking response:
1.Tap Settings in the center display&#39;s Topview.
2. Tap My CarLocking.
3.Tap Visible Locking Feedback to deacti-vate the function or to select when the vehi-cle should provide a visible response: duringLock, Unlock or Both.
4. Select to receive an audible response whenlocking the vehicle by marking AudibleLocking Feedback.
Folding door mirrors* confirmation:
1.Tap Settings in the center display&#39;s Topview.
2. Tap My CarMirrors and Convenience.
3.Select Fold Mirror When Locked to acti-vate or deactivate the function.

Remote key
The remote key is used to lock and unlock doorsand the trunk lid. The remote key must be in thevehicle in order to start the engine.

The remote key is not physically used to start theignition because the vehicle is standard-equippedwith keyless start (Passive Start).
To start the vehicle, the key must be in the frontsection of the passenger compartment, e.g. in thedriver&#39;s pocket or in a cup holder in the tunnelconsole.

Using the electric or combustion
engine
An advanced control system determines the dis-tance that the vehicle can be driven on the com-bustion engine, electric motor, or both at thesame time.
Its primary function is to use the motor/engineand the current available in the hybrid battery asefficiently as possible based on the characteris-tics of the various drive modes and the poweroutput requested by the driver by pressing theaccelerator pedal.
In certain cases, temporary limitations in the sys-tem or mandatory functions to help maintain alow overall emissions level may result in greateruse of the combustion engine.

Changing drive mode
Select the drive mode that is best suited to thecurrent driving conditions.
The drive mode is changed using the control inthe tunnel console.
Keep in mind that not all drive modes are availa-ble in all situations.
To change drive mode:
1.Press the DRIVE MODE control.
> A pop-up menu will appear in the centerdisplay.
2.Roll the wheel upward or downward to thedesired drive mode.

Search
Tap the magnifying glass to display a screenwhere you can enter text using the center dis-play&#39;s keyboard or by writing in the free-text fieldto search for e.g., a station number, an artist,song title, etc.

Channels
Tap to display a complete list of the channelsincluded in your subscription. Tap a channelname to listen. If a subscription to a channel hasexpired, its name will be grayed-out on thescreen.
For quick access to a channel that you often lis-ten to, tap the star to the right of the channel&#39;sname. It will then be added to your list of favor-ites.

Favorites
Tap to display the channels that you have addedto this list. Tap a channel name to listen.

Categories/Genres
Tap to display the categories available. Tap a cat-egory or genre name to display the channels thatit contains and then tap a channel to listen.
If you have activated alerts (see the “Alerts” sec-tion below) and an alert is activated for an artist,song or team, temporary virtual categories willalso be created and displayed. The channels cur-rently broadcasting the song, artist or broadcast-ing a program with the selected team will be lis-ted in a virtual category.
EPG (Electronic Program Guide)
On the center display&#39;s Home view, tap EPG forinformation about e.g., when a program is beingbroadcast and its name, description, artist, etc. Ifno information is currently available, Noinformation will be displayed.

Alerts
If this feature has been selected under SiriusXMSettings, the Alerts button will be displayed onthe Home view.
To add e.g. an artist&#39;s name, song title or a sportsteam to the list of alerts:
1.Tune to a channel that is broadcasting asong, game, etc., of your choice.
2.Tap the Alerts button.
3. A pop-up window will be displayed showing alist of alerts (nothing will be displayed if theselected channel does not support the alertfunction).
4.Select one of the alternatives in list (only onecan be selected at a time).
5. The song/artist/team will now be added tothe list of alerts. Favorite sports teams canalso be added to the list using “Game Alert”in the SiriusXM satellite radio settings.
> When your choice is being broadcast on achannel, you will be informed by a pop-up.
iTunes tagging
From the center display&#39;s Top view, tap SiriusXMSettings. Tap the iTunes Tagging menu. Tapthe iTunes Tagging box to activate/deactivatethis function and tap Close to return to Homeview. Tap Tags List to display a list of all taggedsongs.
If the function is activated, the iTunes tag buttonwill be displayed in Home view. If a song is playedthat you would like to buy in the iTunes store, tapthis button while the song is playing to tag it. If asong with iTunes Tagging information is availa-ble, the button will be selectable. Tap the buttonto tag the song. If you would like to buy a taggedsong via iTunes, Tap the iTunes tag button.
To buy a song in iTunes, begin by connecting aniPhone/iPod/iPad to the USB port in the tunnelconsole. The iTunes tagging list will automaticallybe transferred to the device and removed fromthe list in the vehicle. If the device is connectedwhen a song is tagged, the data will automaticallybe saved in the device. To purchase the song,consult the iTunes support page.

Connecting a device via the USBport
External audio sources, such as an iPod® orMP3 player, can be connected to the audio sys-tem via any of the vehicle's USB ports.
If the vehicle has two USB ports, the phone mustbe connected to the port with the white frame touse Apple CarPlay* or Android Auto*.

Electrical outlets
There are two 12-volt electrical sockets and one12-volt electrical socket* in the trunk.
If a problem occurs with an electrical socket,contact a workshop - an authorized Volvo work-shop is recommended.
12 V outlets
12 V outlet in the tunnel console, front seat.
The 12 V outlets can be used for devicesintended for this such as MP3 players, coolersand cellular phones.
