In certain cases, a vehicle w ill be classified as
critical for a lane change even if it is still some
what far away . The faster a vehicle approaches,
the sooner the display in the exterior m irro r will
tu rn on.
@ Vehicles traveling with you
Vehicles traveling with you are indicated in the
exter ior mirror if they a re classified as cr it ical for
a la ne cha nge . A ll vehicles detected by side assist
are ind icated by the time they ente r you r "blind
spot" , at the la tes t.
@ Vehicles you are passing
If you s low ly pass a veh icle that s ide ass ist has
detected (the difference in speed between the
vehicle and you r vehicle is less than app roximate
ly 9 mph ( 15 km/h)) , the disp lay in the exter ior
mir ror tur ns on as soon as the vehicle en te rs yo ur
blind spot .
The display w ill not tur n on if you quickly pass a
vehicle that side ass ist has detected (the diffe r
ence in speed is grea ter than approximate ly 9
mph ( 15 km/h)) .
Functional limitations
The radar sensors are des igned to detect the left
and right adjacent lanes when the road lanes are
t h e norma l width. In some situa tions, the display
in the exte rior m irror may turn o n even though
t h ere is no veh icle located in the area that is criti-
ca l for a lane change. For example :

Parking aid
General information
Ap plies to: vehicles with pa rk in g system plus/rearview cam

Depending on your vehicle's equipment, various
parking aids will help you when parking and ma
neuvering.
The
parking system plus assists you when park

tected
in front of and behind the veh icle

The rearview camera shows the area beh ind the
veh icle in the Infotainment system d isplay. The
l ines in the rearview camera image help you to
park or
maneuver ¢ page 145.
& WARNING
-Always look for traffic and check the area
around your vehicle by looking at it directly
as well. The parking system cannot replace
the driver's attent ion. The driver is always
responsible when enter ing or leaving a park
ing space and during similar maneuvers.
-Please note that some surfaces, such as
clothing, are not detected by the system.
-Sensors and cameras have blind spots in
which people and objects cannot be detect
ed . Be especially cautious of small children
and animals.
- Always pay attention to the area around the
vehicle -using the rearview mirror, too .
-The sensors can be displaced by impacts or
damage to the radiator gr ille, bumper,
wheel housing and the underbody . The park
ing system may be impa ired as a result.
Have an authorized Audi dealer or author
ized Audi Serv ice Facility check their func
tion.

-Some objects are not detected or displayed by the system under certain circumstances:
-objects such as barrier chains, trailer draw
bars, vert ical poles or fences
-objects above the sensors such as wall ex
tensions
Parking aid
-objects with certain s urfaces or structures
such as chain link fences or powder snow
-If you continue driving closer to a low ob
ject, it may disappear from the sensor
range . Note that you will no longer be
warned about th is obstacle.
-Keep enough distance from the curb to re
duce the risk of damage to th e rims.
(I} Tips
-The system may provide a warning even
though there are no obstacles in the cover
age area in some situations, such as:
-certa in road surfaces or when there is tall
grass
- external ultrasonic sources such as from clean ing vehicles
-in heavy rain, snow, or thick vehicle ex
haust
-We recommend that you practice parking in
a traff ic -free location or parking lot to be
come fam iliar with the system . When doing
this , there shou ld be good light and weath
er conditions .
-You can change the volume and pitch of the
signa ls as well as the display ¢
page 147.
-What appears in the infotainment display is
somewhat time-delayed .
-The sensors must be kept clean and free of
snow and ice for the parking aid to operate .

A WARNING
The route calculated by the navigation system
is a recommendation for reaching your desti
nation. Obey traffic lights, stopping restric
tions, one-way streets, lane change restric
tions, etc.

-An exclamation point "!" in front of the
street name ind icates that the information
about this street or this sect ion of the route

Twitter menu:
-My tw eets: News Feed and the Tweets you have
posted are listed.
- Home: the Tweets for everyone you follow are
displayed.
- Trends : topics on Twitte r that are cur rently
popular w ithin a country .
D ifferent functions are available depending on
the Twitter category you have selected:
- New tweet : you can post a new tweet using
pre-made templates or using myAudi tem
plates that you have created yourself .
-Refresh : the selected Tw itter function is re

-Favorite : mark a Tweet as favorite to show you
liked it .
-Retweet: you can quote a Tweet to share it with

points of interest on your mobile device (such as a smartphone) and then use them for route
guidance in the
MMI.
Requirement:

Audi MMI connect app must be insta lled and
open on your mobile device.

You must be logged into your myAudi account in
the
Audi MMI connect app and you must have se
l ected your vehicle.
T he Wi-Fi function on your mobile device and on
the MMI must be switched on.

Setting the date and
time
You can set the clock time manually or using the
CPS* .

If you select 24h, the clock will display, for ex

Depend ing on veh icle equipment, the following
funct ions may be ava ilable:
Command display : when this function is switch
ed on
g, the MMI will show you the possible
commands for voice input in the respective
menu.
Short dialog : when this function is switched on
g, a shorter form of the prompts is used .
Command during voice output*: thi s function is
switched on at the factory . W hen this function is
switched on
g, you can say new commands dur-
ing announcements. You do not need to wait for
the signal tone (beep) dur ing an announcement.
