Appliesto:vehicleswithAudipresense
Withinthelimitsofthe system, thepresense
functionscaninitiatemeasuresinparticularly
dangeroussituationstoprotectthevehiclepas-
sengersandotherroadusers.
—Duetotheinterlinkingofvariousvehiclesys-
tems,criticaldrivingsituationscanbedetected
bypresensebasicandmeasuresforpreventa-
tiveoccupantprotectionarecanbeinitiated.
—Thepresensefrontsystemusesthedatafrom
theadaptivecruisecontrol*radarsensorsand
thecameratocalculatetheprobabilityofacol-
lision.Withinthelimitsofthesystem,anim-
pendingcollisionwithvehiclescan bedetected
inbothurbanandruralspeedranges.Inthis
case,thesystemwarnsthedrivervisually,
acousticallyandwithajerkonthebrakesifnec-
essary.Ifneeded,itcaninitiateapartialorfull
decelerationtoreduce thecollisionspeedor to
avoid
thecollisionundercertaincircumstances.
Inconjunctionwithpresensebasic/rear,the
front safetybeltsarealsoreversiblytensioned
whenneeded.Thepresensefrontisalsoactive
whenadaptivecruisecontrol”isswitchedoff.
—Presenserearcontainspresensebasicfunc-
tions.Itusesthedatafromthesideassist*ra-
darsensorsandcalculateswithinthelimitsof
thesystemtheprobabilityofarearendcolli-
sionwiththevehiclebehindyou.Presenserear
isalsoactivewhensideassist*isswitchedoff.
—Withinthelimitsofthesystem,presensecity
usesthecameradataandcandetectanim-
pendingcollisionwithvehiclesandpedestrians.
Inthiscase,thesystemwarnsthedrivervisual-
ly,acousticallyandwithajerkonthebrakesif
necessary.Ifneeded,itcaninitiateafulldecel-
erationtoreducethecollisionspeedorto avoid
thecollisionundercertaincircumstances.In
conjunctionwithpresensebasic/rear,thefront
