vehicle is low on fuel.
The vehicle cannot be remote
started if:
.
The transmitter is in the vehicle.
.
The hood is not closed.
.
There is an emission control
system malfunction and the
malfunction indicator lamp is on.
.
The ignition is not off.
.
The vehicle is not in P (Park).
.
The hazard warning flashers
are on.
.
Two remote starts or a single
remote start with an extension
have already been used.
The engine will turn off during a
remote vehicle start if:
.
The coolant temperature gets
too high.
.
The oil pressure gets low.
The RKE transmitter range may be
reduced while the vehicle is running. Other conditions can affect the
performance of the transmitter. See
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)
System 0 8 or
Vehicle Personalization 0 133 .
Starting the Engine Using Remote
Start
1. Press and release
Q .
2. Immediately press and hold
/until the turn signal lamps flash
or for at least four seconds.
When the vehicle starts, the
parking lamps will turn on. The
doors will be locked and the
climate control system may
come on.
The engine will continue to run
for 15 minutes. After
30 seconds, repeat
Steps 1 and 2 if a 15-minute
time extension is desired.
Turn the ignition on to operate the
vehicle. Extending Engine Run Time
The engine run time can be
extended by 15 minutes, for a total
of 30 minutes, if during the first
15 minutes Steps 1 and 2 are
repeated while the engine is still
running. An extension can be
requested, 30 seconds after
starting.
A maximum of two remote starts,
or a single start with an extension,
is allowed between ignition cycles.
The ignition must be turned on and
then back off to use remote start
again.
Canceling a Remote Start
To cancel a remote start, do one of
the following:
.
Press and hold
/ until the
parking lamps turn off.
.
Turn on the hazard warning
flashers.
.
Turn the ignition on and then off.

Power Door Locks Press
Q or
K on the Remote
Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter.
See Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)
System Operation 0 8 .
Q : Press to lock the doors.
K : Press to unlock the doors.
Delayed Locking This feature delays the actual
locking of the doors until
five seconds after all doors are
closed. Delayed locking can only be turned
on when the Unlocked Door
Anti-Lockout feature has been
turned off.
When
Q is pressed on the power
door lock switch with the door open,
a chime will sound three times
indicating that delayed locking is
active.
The doors will then lock
automatically five seconds after all
doors are closed. If a door is
reopened before five seconds have
elapsed, the five-second timer will
reset once all the doors are closed
again.
Press
Q on the door lock switch
again, or press
Q on the RKE
transmitter, to override this feature
and lock the doors immediately.
Delayed locking can be
programmed. See Vehicle
Personalization 0 133 .Automatic Door Locks The doors will lock automatically
when all doors are closed, the
ignition is on, and the vehicle is
shifted out of P (Park).
If a vehicle door is unlocked, and
then opened and closed, the doors
will lock either when your foot is
removed from the brake or the
vehicle speed becomes faster than
13 km/h (8 mph).
To unlock the doors:
.
Press
K on the power door lock
switch.
.
Shift the transmission into
P (Park).
Automatic door locking cannot be
disabled. Automatic door unlocking
can be programmed. See Vehicle
Personalization 0 133 .
Lockout Protection If the vehicle is on or in ACC/
ACCESSORY and the power door
lock switch is pressed with the

Unlock the vehicle using the
Keyless Access system.
.
Start the vehicle.
To avoid setting off the alarm by
accident:
.
Lock the vehicle after all
occupants have exited.
.
Always unlock the vehicle with
the RKE transmitter, or use the
Keyless Access system.
Unlocking the driver door with the
key will not disarm the system or
turn off the alarm.
How to Detect a Tamper
Condition If
K is pressed on the RKE
transmitter and the horn chirps and
the lights flash three times, an alarm
occurred previously while the alarm
system was armed.
If the alarm has been activated, a
message will appear on the Driver
Information Center (DIC). Immobilizer See Radio Frequency Statement
0 335 .
Immobilizer Operation This vehicle has a passive
theft-deterrent system.
The system does not have to be
manually armed or disarmed.
The vehicle is automatically
immobilized when the transmitter
leaves the vehicle.
The immobilization system is
disarmed when the ignition button is
pushed in and a valid transmitter is
found in the vehicle.
The security light in the instrument
cluster comes on when there is a
problem with arming or disarming
the theft-deterrent system. The system has one or more
transmitters matched to an
immobilizer control unit in your
vehicle. Only a correctly matched
transmitter will start the vehicle.
If the transmitter is ever damaged,
you may not be able to start your
vehicle.
When trying to start the vehicle, the
security light comes on briefly when
the ignition is turned on.
If the engine does not start and the
security light stays on, there is a
problem with the system. Turn the
vehicle off and try again.
If the RKE transmitter appears to be
undamaged, try another transmitter.
Or, you may try placing the
transmitter in the front cupholder.

If the engine does not start with the
other transmitter or when the
transmitter is in the front cupholder,
the vehicle needs service. See your
dealer who can service the

signal indicator on the mirror. An
arrow on the mirror flashes in the
direction of the turn or lane change.
Folding Mirrors Manual Folding Mirrors The mirrors can be folded inward
toward the vehicle to prevent
damage when going through an
automatic car wash. Push the mirror
outward to return it to the original
position.
Heated Mirrors If equipped with heated mirrors:
K : The rear window defogger also
heats the outside mirrors.

System 0 153 . Automatic Dimming
Mirror The vehicle has an automatic
dimming outside mirror(s). The
mirror(s) will adjust for the glare of
headlamps behind you.
Reverse Tilt Mirrors If equipped with memory seats, the
passenger and/or driver mirror tilts
to a preselected position when the
vehicle is in R (Reverse). This
allows the curb to be seen when
parallel parking.
The mirror(s) return to the original
position when:
.
The vehicle is shifted out of
R (Reverse), or remains in
R (Reverse) for about
30 seconds.
.
The ignition is turned off.
.
The vehicle is driven in
R (Reverse) above a set speed.
To turn this feature on or off, see
Vehicle Personalization 0 133 .Interior Mirrors Interior Rearview Mirrors Adjust the rearview mirror for a clear
view of the area behind the vehicle.
Do not spray glass cleaner directly
on the mirror. Use a soft towel
dampened with water.
Automatic Dimming
Rearview Mirror The rearview mirror automatically
dims to reduce the glare of the
headlamps from behind. This
feature comes on when the vehicle
is started.

Windows
{ WarningNever leave a child, a helpless
adult, or a pet alone in a vehicle,
especially with the windows
closed in warm or hot weather.
They can be overcome by the
extreme heat and suffer
permanent injuries or even death
from heat stroke. The vehicle aerodynamics are
designed to improve fuel economy
performance. This may result in a
pulsing sound when either rear
window is down and the front
windows are up. To reduce the
sound, open either a front window
or the sunroof, if equipped.
Power Windows
{ WarningChildren could be seriously
injured or killed if caught in the
path of a closing window. Never
leave the Remote Keyless Entry
(RKE) transmitter in a vehicle with
children. When there are children
in the rear seat, use the window
lockout switch to prevent
operation of the windows. See
Keys 0 7 . Power windows work when the
ignition is on, in ACC/ACCESSORY,
or when Retained Accessory Power
(RAP) is active. See Retained
Accessory Power (RAP) 0 179 .
Using the window switch, press to
open or pull to close the window.
The windows may be temporarily
disabled if they are used repeatedly
within a short time.
Window Lockout
This feature stops the rear window
switches from working.

Press
Z to engage the rear
window lockout feature. The
indicator light is on when
engaged.

Press
Z again to disengage.
This also disables the rear power
door locks. See Safety Locks 0 19 .
Window Express Movement
All windows can be opened without
holding the window switch. Press
the switch down fully and quickly
release to express open the
window. If equipped, pull the window switch
up fully and quickly release to
express close the window.
Briefly press or pull the window
switch in the same direction to stop
that window ’ s express movement.
Window Automatic Reversal
System The express-close feature will
reverse window movement if it
comes in contact with an object.
Extreme cold or ice could cause the
window to auto-reverse. The
window will operate normally after
the object or condition is removed.
Automatic Reversal System
Override
{ Warning
If automatic reversal system
override is active, the window will
not reverse automatically. You or
others could be injured and the
window could be damaged.
Before using automatic reversal
(Continued) Warning (Continued) system override, make sure that
all people and obstructions are
clear of the window path.
When the engine is on, override the
automatic reversal system by pulling
and holding the window switch if
conditions prevent it from closing.
Programming the Power
Windows Programming may be necessary if
the vehicle battery has been
disconnected or discharged. If the
window is unable to express-up,
program each express-close
window:
1. Close all doors.
2. Turn the ignition on or to ACC/
ACCESSORY.
3. Partially open the window to be
programmed. Then close it and
continue to pull the switch
briefly after the window has
fully closed.

Sun Visors
Pull the sun visor down to block
glare. Detach the sun visor from the
center mount to pivot to the side
window and, if equipped, extend
along the rod. Roof Sunroof

If equipped, the sunroof only
operates when the ignition is on or
in ACC/ACCESSORY, or when
Retained Accessory Power (RAP) is
active. See Retained Accessory
Power (RAP) 0 179 . Sunroof Switch
Express-Open/Express-Close : To
express-open the sunroof, fully
press and release
e (1). Press
the switch again to stop it. To
express-close the sunroof, fully
press and release
g (1). Press
the switch again to stop it.
Open/Close (Manual Mode) : To
open the sunroof, press and hold
e (1) until the sunroof reaches
the desired position. Press and hold
g (1) to close it.
Vent : From the closed position,
press
e (1) to vent the sunroof.
Sunshade Switch
Express-Open/Express-Close : To
express-open the sunshade, fully
press and release
r (2). To
express-close the sunshade, fully
press and release
s (2). Press the
switch again to stop it.

Front Seats Power Seat Adjustment
{ WarningThe power seats will work with
the ignition off. Children could
operate the power seats and be
injured. Never leave children
alone in the vehicle. To adjust a power seat:
.
Move the seat forward or
rearward by sliding the control
forward or rearward.
.
Raise or lower the front part of
the seat cushion by moving the
front of the control up or down.
.
Raise or lower the entire seat by
moving the rear of the control up
or down.
To adjust the seatback, see
Reclining Seatbacks 0 37 .
To adjust the lumbar support, see
Lumbar Adjustment 0 36 .Lumbar Adjustment
To adjust the lumbar support,
if equipped:
.
Press the front or rear of the
switch to increase or decrease
lumbar support.
.
Press the top or bottom of the
switch to raise or lower the
lumbar support.
.
Release the switch when the
level of support is reached.

Tilt the top of the control
rearward to recline.
.
Tilt the top of the control forward
to raise.
Memory Seats
If equipped, memory seats allow two
drivers to save and recall their
unique seat positions for driving the
vehicle, and a shared exit position
for getting out of the vehicle. Other
feature positions may also be
saved, such as power mirrors and
power steering wheel, if equipped. Memory positions are linked to RKE
transmitter 1 or 2 for automatic
memory recalls.
Before saving, adjust all available
memory feature positions. Turn the
vehicle on and then press and
release SET; a beep will sound.
Then immediately press and hold 1,
2, or
B (Exit) until two beeps
sound. To manually recall these
positions, press and hold 1, 2, or
Buntil the saved position is reached.
Follow the instructions under
“ Saving Memory Positions. ”
The vehicle identifies the current
driver ’ s RKE transmitter number (1 –
8). See Remote Keyless Entry
(RKE) System Operation 0 8 . Only
RKE transmitters 1 and 2 can be
used for automatic memory recalls.
A Driver Information Center (DIC)
welcome message indicating the
transmitter number may display for
the first few ignition cycles following
a transmitter change. For Auto
Memory Recall to work properly,
save the positions to the memory
button (1 or 2) matching the RKE
transmitter number displayed in the DIC welcome message. Carry the
linked RKE transmitter when
entering the vehicle.
Vehicle Personalization Settings
.
To have the Auto Memory Recall
movement begin when the
vehicle is started, select the
Settings menu, then Vehicle,
then Comfort and Convenience,
and then Auto Memory Recall.
Select On or Off. See “ Auto
Memory Recall ” later in this
section.
.
To begin Easy Exit Recall
movement when the vehicle is
turned off and the driver door is
opened, or when the vehicle is
turned off with the driver door
already opened, select the
Settings menu, then Vehicle,
then Comfort and Convenience,
and then Easy Exit Options.
Select On or Off. See “ Easy Exit
Recall ” later in this section.
