Tire Pressure
The pressure for each tire can be viewed in the DIC.
The tire pressure is shown in either pounds per square
inch (psi) or kilopascals (kPa). Press the vehicle
information button until the DIC displays Front Tire
PSI (kPa) Left ## Right ##. Press the vehicle information
button again until the DIC displays Rear Tire PSI (kPa)
Left ## Right ##.
If a low or high tire pressure condition is detected by
the system while driving, a message advising you
to check the pressure in a specic tire appears in the
display. SeeInflation - Tire Pressure on page 5-66and
DIC Warnings and Messages on page 3-56for more
information.
Battery Voltage
This display shows the current battery voltage. Your
vehicle’s charging system regulates voltage based
on the state of the battery. The battery voltage may
uctuate when viewing this information on the DIC.
This is normal.
If there is a problem with the battery charging system,
the charging system light illuminates and/or the DIC
displays a message. SeeCharging System Light

page 3-21for more information.
Calibrate Compass
Your vehicle may have this feature. The compass can
be manually calibrated. To calibrate the compass
through the DIC, seeDIC Compass on page 3-53.
Change Compass Zone
Your vehicle may have this feature. To change the
compass zone through the DIC, seeDIC Compass on
page 3-53.
Relearn Remote Key
If your vehicle has the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)
system, this display allows you to match the transmitter
to your vehicle. If your vehicle has the keyless access
system, seeKeyless Access System Operation on
page 2-10for instructions on matching a keyless access
transmitter to your vehicle. To match an RKE transmitter
to your vehicle:
1. Press the vehicle information button until
Press
VTo Relearn Remote Key displays.
2. Press the set/reset button until Remote Key
Learning Active is displayed.

Calibrating Drive In Circles
This message displays when calibrating the compass.
Drive the vehicle in circles at less than 5 mph (8 km/h)
to complete the calibration. SeeDIC Compass on

Calibration Complete
This message displays when the compass calibration is
complete. SeeDIC Compass on page 3-53for more
information.
Change Engine Oil Soon
When this message displays, it means that service is
required for your vehicle. See your dealer/retailer.

When you reset the Change Engine Oil Soon message
by clearing it from the display, you still must reset
the engine oil life system separately. For more
information on resetting the engine oil life system,
seeEngine Oil Life System on page 5-19.
Check Tire Pressure
This message displays when the pressure in one or
more of the vehicle’s tires needs to be checked.
This message also displays Left Front, Right Front,
Left Rear, or Right Rear to indicate which tire needs
to be checked. You can receive more than one tire
pressure message at a time. To read the other
messages that may have been sent at the same time,
press the set/reset button. If a tire pressure message
appears on the DIC, stop as soon as you can. Have the
tire pressures checked and set to those shown on the
Tire Loading Information label. SeeTires on page 5-58,
Loading the Vehicle on page 4-22, andInflation - Tire
Pressure on page 5-66. The DIC display also shows the
tire pressure values. SeeDIC Operation and Displays
on page 3-48. If the tire pressure is low, the low tire
pressure warning light comes on. SeeTire Pressure

Cruise Set To XXX MPH (km/h)
This message displays whenever the cruise control is set.

Driver Door Open
This message displays when the driver door is not closed
completely. Make sure that the door is closed completely.

Service StabiliTrak
This message displays if there has been a
problem detected with the StabiliTrak®system.
The TCS/StabiliTrak warning light on the instrument
panel cluster also comes on.
If this message comes on while you are driving, pull off
the road as soon as possible and stop carefully. Try
resetting the system by turning the ignition off then back
on. If this message still stays on or comes back on
again while you are driving, your vehicle needs service.
Have the StabiliTrak system inspected by your
dealer/retailer as soon as possible. SeeStabiliTrak

Service Theft Deterrent System
This message displays when there is a problem with the
theft-deterrent system programmed in the key. A fault
has been detected in the system which means that
the system is disabled and it is not protecting the
vehicle. The vehicle usually restarts; however, you may
want to take the vehicle to your dealer/retailer before
turning off the engine. SeeImmobilizer Operation

(Keyless Access) on page 2-31for more information.
Service Tire Monitor System
This message displays if a part on the Tire Pressure
Monitor System (TPMS) is not working properly. The tire
pressure light also ashes and then remains on during
the same ignition cycle. SeeTire Pressure Light on
page 3-41. Several conditions may cause this message
to appear. SeeTire Pressure Monitor Operation on
page 5-70for more information. If the warning comes on
and stays on, there may be a problem with the TPMS.
See your dealer/retailer.
Service Traction Control
This message displays when there is a problem with
the Traction Control System (TCS). The TCS/StabiliTrak
warning light on the instrument panel cluster also comes
on. When this message displays, the system will not limit
wheel spin. Adjust your driving accordingly. See your
dealer/retailer for service. SeeTraction Control System

Service Transmission
This message displays when there is a problem with the
vehicle’s transmission. Have your vehicle serviced by
your dealer/retailer.

After the tires have been rotated, adjust the front
and rear ination pressures as shown on the Tire
and Loading Information label. SeeInflation - Tire
Pressure on page 5-66andLoading the Vehicle on
page 4-22.
Reset the Tire Pressure Monitor System. SeeTire
Pressure Monitor Operation on page 5-70.
Make certain that all wheel nuts are properly
tightened. See “Wheel Nut Torque” under
Capacities and Specifications on page 5-129.
{CAUTION:
Rust or dirt on a wheel, or on the parts to
which it is fastened, can make wheel nuts
become loose after time. The wheel could
come off and cause an accident. When
you change a wheel, remove any rust or
dirt from places where the wheel attaches
to the vehicle. In an emergency, you can
use a cloth or a paper towel to do this;
but be sure to use a scraper or wire brush
later, if needed, to get all the rust or

When It Is Time for New Tires
Various factors, such as maintenance, temperatures,
driving speeds, vehicle loading, and road conditions
inuence when you need new tires.
One way to tell when it
is time for new tires is to
check the treadwear
indicators, which will
appear when your tires
have only 1/16 inch
(1.6 mm) or less of
tread remaining.

needs, you will know that trained and supported service
technicians will perform the work using genuine parts.

Owner Checks and Services on page 6-10tells you
what should be checked, when to check it, and what you
can easily do to help keep your vehicle in good
condition.
The proper replacement parts, uids, and lubricants to
use are listed inRecommended Fluids and Lubricants
on page 6-14andMaintenance Replacement Parts
on page 6-16. When your vehicle is serviced, make sure
these are used. All parts should be replaced and all
necessary repairs done before you or anyone else
drives the vehicle. We recommend the use of genuine
parts from your dealer/retailer.Scheduled Maintenance
To maintain the ride, handling, and performance of your
vehicle, it is important that the rst tire rotation service
be performed when the vehicle has 5,000 to 8,000 miles
(8 000 to 13 000 km). Check tires for ination pressures
and wear. SeeTires on page 5-58. Rotate tires. SeeTire
Inspection and Rotation on page 5-74and “Tire Wear
Inspection” inAt Least Once a Month on page 6-10.
When the Change Engine Oil Soon message in the
Driver Information Center (DIC) comes on, it means that
service is required for your vehicle. Have your vehicle
serviced as soon as possible within the next 600 miles
(1 000 km). It is possible that, if you are driving under
the best conditions, the engine oil life system may not
indicate that vehicle service is necessary for over a year.
However, your engine oil and lter must be changed at
least once a year and at this time the system must be
reset. Your dealer/retailer has trained service technicians
who will perform this work using genuine parts and reset
the system.

If the engine oil life system is ever reset accidentally,
you must service your vehicle within 3,000 miles
(5 000 km) since your last service. Remember to reset
the oil life system whenever the oil is changed. See
Engine Oil Life System on page 5-19for information on
the Engine Oil Life System and resetting the system.
When the Change Engine Oil Soon message appears,
the following services, checks, and inspections are
required:
❑Change engine oil and lter. SeeEngine Oil on

❑Visually check for any leaks or damage.
