Operation
Radio Controls without
Touchscreen
The infotainment system is operatedby using the pushbuttons,multifunction knobs, and menusshown on the display.
Turning the System On or Off
O:Press and hold to turn thesystem on and off.
Automatic Switch-Off
If the infotainment system has beenturned on after the ignition is turnedoff, the system will turn offautomatically after 10 minutes.
Volume Control
O:Turn to adjust the volume or tocancel mute when the audio systemis muted.

Radio Data System (RDS)
RDS is a service by FM stationsthat makes it easier to find radiostations with fault-free reception.
RDS stations are indicated by theprogram service name withbroadcasting frequency.
Selecting a Band
Press RADIO to choose AM or FM.The last station that was playingstarts playing again.
Selecting an Auxiliary Device
Press MEDIA to select a connectedauxiliary device.
Selecting a Station
Seek Tuning
If the radio station is not known:
Press7or6to automatically
search for available radio stations.
Press and hold7or6to change
the radio stations as desired, thenrelease to stop at the next availablestation.
Favorites List
There are two ways to select astation from the Favorites List:
.Press FAV repeatedly, until thedesired FAV page is displayed,then press the preset button ofthe desired FAV station.
.Press FAV, turn MENU until thedesired FAV station ishighlighted, then press MENU toselect the desired FAV station.
Stations List
1. From AM or FM, turn MENU toselect Stations List, then pressto select.
2. Turn MENU to move to thedesired station from theStations List, then press toreceive the station.
Category List
Most stations that broadcast anRDS program type code specify thetype of programming transmitted.Some stations change the programtype code depending on the
content. The system stores the RDSstations sorted by program type inthe FM category list.
To s e a r c h f o r a p r o g r a m m i n g t y p edetermined by station:
1. From the FM menu, turn MENUto select FM Category List,then press MENU.
2. Turn MENU to move to thedesired station, then pressMENU to receive the selectedbroadcasting channel.
Update Stations List
From AM or FM, press MENU, turnMENU to Update Stations List, thenpress MENU.
During the AM or FM broadcastinglist update, press the preset buttonunder Cancel or BACK to stop theupdates.
Storing a Station as a Favorite
Stations from all bands can bestored in any order in the favoritepages.
Up to four stations can be stored ineach favorite page.

.The pairing process is disabledwhen the vehicle is moving.
.Pairing only needs to becompleted once, unless thepairing information on the cellphone changes or the cell phoneis deleted from the system.
.Only one paired cell phone canbe connected to the Bluetoothsystem at a time.
.If multiple paired cell phones arewithin range of the system, thesystem connects to the firstavailable paired cell phone in theorder that they were first paired.
When the Bluetooth device andinfotainment system aresuccessfully paired, the phone bookis downloaded automatically. This isdependent on the type of phonepaired. If the automatic downloaddoes not occur, proceed with thephone book download on thephone.
Pairing a Phone–SSP and NoPaired Device
When there is no paired device onthe infotainment system and SimpleSecure Pairing (SSP) is supported:
1. Press PHONE or pressgon
the steering wheel withoutOnStar.
2. Press Pair to search forBluetooth Devices.
3. When the Bluetooth device andinfotainment system aresuccessfully paired, the phonescreen is displayed on theinfotainment system.

When a paired device is on theinfotainment system and SSP issupported:

Pairing a Phone–No SSP and NoPaired Device
When there is no paired device onthe infotainment system and SSP isnot supported:
1. Press PHONE or pressgon
the steering wheel withoutOnStar.
2. Press Pair to search forBluetooth Devices.
3. Input the PersonalIdentification Number (PIN)code (default: 1234) to theBluetooth device. When theBluetooth device andinfotainment system aresuccessfully paired, thePHONE screen is displayed onthe infotainment system.
When the connection fails, a failuremessage is displayed on theinfotainment system.
If a Bluetooth device was previouslyconnected, the infotainment systemexecutes the auto connection.However, if the Bluetooth setting on
the Bluetooth device is turned off, afailure message is displayed on theinfotainment system.

Bluetooth Music
Before playing Bluetooth music,read the following information.
.AcellphoneorBluetoothdevicethat supports Advanced AudioDistribution Profile (A2DP)versions over 1.2 must beregistered and connected to theproduct.
.From the cell phone or Bluetoothdevice, find the Bluetooth devicetype to set/connect the item as astereo headset.
.ewill appear on the screen if
the stereo headset issuccessfully connected.
.The sound played by theBluetooth device is deliveredthrough the infotainment system.
.Bluetooth music can be playedonly when a Bluetooth devicehas been connected. To playBluetooth music, connect theBluetooth phone to theinfotainment system.
.If the Bluetooth device isdisconnected while playingphone music, the music isdiscontinued. The audiostreaming function may not besupported in some Bluetoothphones. Only one function canbe used at a time between theBluetooth hands-free or Phonemusic function. For example,if you convert to Bluetoothhands-free while playing Phonemusic, the music is
discontinued. Playing music fromthe car is not possible whenthere are no music files stored inthe cell phone.
.For Bluetooth music to play, themusic must be played at leastonce from the music playermode of the cell phone orBluetooth device afterconnecting as a stereo headset.After being played at least once,the music player willautomatically play upon enteringplay mode, and it willautomatically stop when themusic player mode ends. If thecell phone or Bluetooth device isnot in the waiting screen mode,some devices may notautomatically play in Bluetoothmusic play mode.

Press Media repeatedly, untilBluetooth Audio is selected.

Playing Music Randomly
Turn MENU to highlightZ,then
press MENU during playback. PressMENU again to return tonormal play.
This function may not be supporteddepending on the cell phone.
Do not change the track too quicklywhen playing Bluetooth music.
Conditions that may occur whenplaying Bluetooth music:
.It takes time to transmit datafrom the cell phone to theinfotainment system.
.If the cell phone or Bluetoothdevice is not in the waitingscreen mode, it may notautomatically play.
.The infotainment systemtransmits the order to play fromthe cell phone in the Bluetoothmusic play mode. If this is donein a different mode, then thedevice transmits the order tostop. Depending on the cellphone’soptions,thisordertoplay/stop may take time toactivate.
.If the Bluetooth music playbackis not functioning, then check tosee if the cell phone is in thewaiting screen mode.
.Sounds may be cut off duringthe Bluetooth music playback.
.The infotainment system outputsthe audio from the cell phone orBluetooth device as it istransmitted.

Pairing
ABluetooth-enabledcellphonemust be paired to the Bluetoothsystem and then connected to thevehicle before it can be used. Seeyour cell phone manufacturer's userguide for Bluetooth functions beforepairing the cell phone. If a Bluetoothphone is not connected, calls will bemade using OnStar Hands-FreeCalling, if available. Air Delivery Mode Controls :Press the air delivery mode buttonsto change the direction of theairflow. The indicator light in theselected button will turn on. Thecurrent mode appears in the displayscreen.
To c h a n g e t h e c u r r e n t m o d e , s e l e c tone or more of the following modes:
0:Clears the windows of fog ormoisture. Air is directed to thewindshield.
{:Air is directed to theinstrument panel outlets.
z:Air is directed to the flooroutlets.
0MAX :Air is directed to thewindshield and the fan runs at ahigher speed. This mode overridesthe previous mode selected andclears fog or frost from thewindshield more quickly. When thebutton is pressed again, the systemreturns to the previous mode settingand fan speed.
For best results, clear all snow andice from the windshield beforedefrosting.
A/C :Press to turn the airconditioning system on or off. If thefan control is turned off or theoutside temperature falls belowfreezing, the air conditioner willnot run.
A/C (Max/Eco A/C For Stop/StartVehicles) :Press to cycle betweenthe max, eco, and off airconditioning modes. The indicatorwill be lit in max and eco modes andturns off when there is no A/Cfunction. If the fan is turned off, theair conditioner will not run and theindicator light will turn off.
For max a/c, press A/C. Theindicator will turn amber. Auto stopswill occur less frequently, be shorter,and will not occur in extremely warmweather.
For eco a/c, press A/C again. Theindicator will turn green. This settingbalances fuel economy and airconditioning comfort. In warmweather conditions, auto stops mayoccur more frequently, last longer,and the vehicle interior may bewarmer during auto stops ascompared to the max a/c setting.
This setting allows higher humidityinside the vehicle and windowfogging may occur before theengine restarts.
@:Press to turn on recirculation.An indicator light comes on. Air isrecirculated to quickly cool theinside of the vehicle or to reduce theentry of outside air and odors.
Auto Defog :The climate controlsystem may have a sensor toautomatically detect high humidityinside the vehicle. When highhumidity is detected, the climatecontrol system may adjust tooutside air supply and turn on theair conditioner. If the climate controlsystem does not detect possiblewindow fogging, it returns to normaloperation.
