DRIVING
SPEED LIMITER
System which prevents the vehicle from
e x c e e d i n g t h e s p e e d p r o g r a m m e d b y
the driver.
When the programmed speed limit is
reached, pressing the accelerator pedal in
the normal manner no longer has any effect.
The controls of this system are grouped
together on stalk A .
1. Speed limiter mode selection thumb
wheel.
2. Value decrease button.
3. Value increase button.
4. Speed limiter on/off button. The programmed information is grouped
together on the instrument panel screen.
5. Speed limiter on/off indication.

The speed limiter cannot, in any
circumstances, replace the need
to respect speed limits, nor can it
replace the need for vigilance and
responsibility on the part of the
driver.
The speed limiter is
switched on man-
u a l l y : i t r e q u i r e s a p r o g r a m m e d s p e e d
o f a t l e a s t 2 0 m p h ( 3 0 k m / h ) .
The speed limiter is switched off by
manual operation of the control.
T h e p r o g r a m m e d s p e e d c a n b e e x -
ceeded temporarily by pressing the ac-
c e l e r a t o r fi r m l y .
To return to the programmed speed,
simply slow down to a speed below the
programmed speed.
The programmed speed remains in the
memory when the ignition is switched
off.

DRIVING On a steep descent or in the event
of sharp acceleration, the speed
limiter will not be able to prevent
t h e v e h i c l e f r o m e x c e e d i n g t h e p r o -
grammed speed.
To avoid any risk of jamming of the
p e d a l s :
- ensure that the mat is positioned correctly,
- d o n o t fi t o n e m a t o n t o p o f a n - other.
Programming
Turn thumb wheel 1 to the "LIMIT"
p o s i t i o n : t h e s p e e d l i m i t e r m o d e
is selected but is not switched on
( P A U S E ) .
You do not have to switch the speed
limiter on in order to set the speed.
Exceeding the programmed speed
P r e s s i n g t h e a c c e l e r a t o r p e d a l t o e x c e e d t h e p r o g r a m m e d
speed will not have any effect unless you press the pedal
fi r m l y past the point of resistance .
The speed limiter is deactivated temporarily and the pro-
g r a m m e d s p e e d , w h i c h i s s t i l l d i s p l a y e d , fl a s h e s .
Returning to the programmed speed, by means of intention-
al or unintentional deceleration of the vehicle, automati cally
c a n c e l s t h e fl a s h i n g o f t h e p r o g r a m m e d s p e e d .
Leaving limiter mode
Turn thumb wheel 1 to the "0" p o s i t i o n : t h e s p e e d l i m i t e r
mode is deselected. The display returns to the distance
recorder. Operating fault
In the event of a speed limiter malfunc-
tion, the speed is cleared resulting in
fl a s h i n g o f t h e d a s h e s .
Have the system checked by a CITROËN
dealer.
Set the speed value by pressing button 2 or 3 ( e . g . : 5 5 m p h
( 9 0 k m / h ) ) .
You can then change the programmed speed using but tons 2
and 3 :
- b y + o r - 1 m p h ( k m / h ) = s h o r t p r e s s ,
- b y + o r - 5 m p h ( k m / h ) = l o n g p r e s s ,
- i n s t e p s o f + o r - 5 m p h ( k m / h ) = m a i n t a i n e d p r e s s .
Switch the speed limiter on by pressing button 4 .
Switch the speed limiter off by pressing button 4 : t h e d i s -
p l a y c o n fi r m s t h a t i t h a s b e e n s w i t c h e d o f f ( P A U S E ) .
Switch the speed limiter back on by pressing button 4
again.

TEMPORARY PUNCTURE REPAIR KIT
Complete system consisting of a com-
pressor and a sealant cartridge which
permits temporary repair of a tyre so
that you can drive to the nearest ga-
rage.
It is designed to repair most punctures
which could affect the tyre, located on
the tyre tread or shoulder. Description of the kit
The speed limit sticker I must be

wheel to remind you that a wheel is
in temporary use.
D o n o t e x c e e d a s p e e d o f 5 0 m p h
(80 km/h) when driving with a tyre
repaired using this type of kit.
A. "Sealant" or "Air" position selector.
B. On "I" /off "O" switch.
C. D e fl a t i o n b u t t o n .
D. Pressure gauge (in bar or p.s.i.).
E. Compartment housing:
- a cable with adaptor for 12 V socket,
- v a r i o u s i n fl a t i o n a d a p t o r s f o r a c - cessories, such as balls, bicycle
tyres...

2 . I n fl a t i o n
Turn the selector A to the
"AIR" position.
Uncoil the black pipe H fully.
Connect the black pipe to
the valve of the wheel.
C o n n e c t t h e c o m p r e s s o r ' s e l e c t r i c
p l u g t o t h e v e h i c l e ' s 1 2 V s o c k e t .
Start the vehicle again and leave the
engine running.
Adjust the pressure using the com-
p r e s s o r ( t o i n fl a t e : s w i t c h B in po-
sition "I" ; t o d e fl a t e : s w i t c h B in
position "O" and press button C ), in
a c c o r d a n c e w i t h t h e v e h i c l e ' s t y r e
pressure label (located on the left
hand door aperture).
A loss of pressure indicates that the puncture has not been fully plugged;
contact a CITROËN dealer for as-
sistance.
Remove and stow the kit.

(200 km).
Visit a CITROËN dealer as
soon as possible.
You must inform the techni- cian that you have used this
kit. After inspection, the techni-
cian will inform you whether the
tyre can be repaired or must be
replaced.

Removing the cartridge
Stow the black pipe.
Detach the angled base from the
white pipe.
Support the compressor vertically.
Unscrew the cartridge from the bottom.

T h e e x p i r y d a t e o f t h e fl u i d i s i n d i -
cated on the cartridge.
The sealant cartridge is designed
for single use; even if only partly
used, it must be replaced.
After use, do not discard the car-
tridge into the environment, take
it to an authorised waste disposal
site or a CITROËN dealer.
Do not forget to obtain a new
sealant cartridge, available from
CITROËN dealers. Checking tyre pressures/
inflating accessories
You can also use the compressor, with-
out injecting any product, to:
- check or adjust the pressure of your
tyres,
- i n fl a t e o t h e r a c c e s s o r i e s .
Turn the selector A to the
"Air" position.
Uncoil the black pipe H fully.
Connect the black pipe to
the valve of the wheel or accessory.
I f n e c e s s a r y , fi t o n e o f t h e a d a p t o r s s u p p l i e d w i t h t h e k i t fi r s t .
C o n n e c t t h e c o m p r e s s o r ' s e l e c t r i -
c a l c o n n e c t o r t o t h e v e h i c l e ' s 1 2 V
socket.
Start the vehicle and let the engine
run.
Adjust the pressure using the com-
p r e s s o r ( t o i n fl a t e : s w i t c h B in po-
sition "I" ; t o d e fl a t e : s w i t c h B in
position "O" and press button C ),
a c c o r d i n g t o t h e v e h i c l e ' s t y r e p r e s -
s u r e l a b e l o r t h e a c c e s s o r y ' s p r e s -
sure label.
Remove the kit then stow it.

CHANGING A WHEEL
The tools are installed under the boot
fl o o r .
For access to them:
open the boot,
r e m o v e t h e b o o t fl o o r ,
lift up the boot carpet,
r e m o v e t h e b o x c o n t a i n i n g t h e
tools,
r e m o v e t h e p o l y s t y r e n e s t o r a g e b o x . A l l o f t h e s e t o o l s a r e s p e c i fi c t o y o u r
vehicle. Do not use them for other
purposes.

Wheel with trim
When removing the wheel , fi r s t
detach the trim using the wheel-
brace 1 pulling at the valve pas-
sage hole.
W h e n r e fi t t i n g t h e w h e e l , r e fi t t h e
trim starting by placing its notch fac-
ing the valve and press around its
edge with the palm of your hand.
1. Wheelbrace.
For removing the wheel trim and r e m o v i n g t h e w h e e l fi x i n g b o l t s .
2. Jack with integral handle.
For raising the vehicle.
3. "Bolt cover" tool.
For removing the bolt protectors (covers) on alloy wheels.
Procedure for changing a faulty wheel
for the spare wheel using the tools pro-
vided with the vehicle.

Fitting the steel or "space-
saver" type spare wheel
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a l l o y
wheels, it is normal to notice, when
t i g h t e n i n g t h e b o l t s o n fi t t i n g , t h a t
the washers do not come into con-
tact with the steel or "space-saver"
type spare wheel. The wheel is
secured by the conical contact of
each bolt.
Access to the spare wheel
The spare wheel is installed in the boot
u n d e r t h e fl o o r .
According to country, the spare wheel
may be steel or of the "space-saver"
type.
For access to it, refer to the paragraph
"Access to tools" on the previous page.
Taking out the wheel
Unscrew the yellow central bolt, and
remove it.
Raise the spare wheel towards you
from the rear.
Take the wheel out of the boot.
Putting the wheel back in place
Put the wheel back in its housing.
R e fi t t h e y e l l o w c e n t r a l b o l t i n t h e
centre of the wheel.
Tighten fully until the central bolt
clicks to retain the wheel correctly.

back in place.

Parking the vehicle
Immobilise the vehicle where it
d o e s n o t b l o c k t r a f fi c : t h e g r o u n d
must be level, stable and non-slip-
pery.
Apply the parking brake, switch off
t h e i g n i t i o n a n d e n g a g e fi r s t g e a r t o
lock the wheels.
If necessary, place a chock under
the wheel diagonally opposite the
wheel to be changed.
You must ensure that the occu-
pants get out of the vehicle and
wait where they are safe.
Never go underneath a vehicle
r a i s e d u s i n g a j a c k ; u s e a n a x l e
stand.
Removing the wheel
List of operations
Remove the chromed bolt cover from
each of the bolts using the tool 3 (with
allow wheels only).
Fit the security socket 5 on the
wheelbrace 1 to slacken the security
bolt (if your vehicle has them).
Slacken the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
Place the jack 2 in contact with one
of the two front A or rear B locations
provided on the underbody, which-
ever is closest to the wheel to be
changed.
E x t e n d t h e j a c k 2 until its base plate
is in contact with the ground. Ensure
that the centreline of the jack base
plate is directly below the location A
or B used.
Raise the vehicle until there is suf-
fi c i e n t s p a c e b e t w e e n t h e w h e e l a n d
the ground to admit the spare (not
punctured) wheel easily.
Remove the bolts and store them in
a clean place.
Remove the wheel.

Put the wheel in place on the hub
using the centring guide 4 .
Screw in the bolts by hand as far as
possible.
Pre-tighten the security bolt (if your ve-
hicle has them) using the wheelbrace
1 fi t t e d w i t h t h e s e c u r i t y s o c k e t 5 .
Pre-tighten the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
Lower the vehicle fully.
Fold the jack 2 and detach it.
After changing a wheel
To store the punctured wheel in
t h e b o o t c o r r e c t l y , fi r s t r e m o v e t h e
central cover.
When using the "space-saver"
t y p e s p a r e w h e e l , d o n o t e x c e e d
5 0 m p h ( 8 0 k m / h ) .
Have the tightening of the bolts
and the pressure of the spare
wheel checked by a CITROËN
dealer without delay.
Have the punctured wheel repaired
and replace it on the vehicle as
soon as possible.
Refitting the wheel
Tighten the security bolt (if your vehicle
has them) using the wheelbrace 1 fi t -
ted with the security socket 5 .
Tighten the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
