UPPER STORAGE AREA
There are large storage compart-
ments at the top of the fascia, one
on the driver's side and one on the
passenger's side.
To open, press the button at the
bottom corner.
To close, lower the lid fully until it
clicks.
ILLUMINATED GLOVE BOX
This has areas for storing a bottle of
water, the vehicle's handbook pack, etc.
Its lid has areas for storing a pen, a pair
of spectacles, tokens, cards, a can, fra-
grance cartridges...
To open the glove box, raise the
handle and lower the lid.
The lamp comes on automatically
when the lid is opened.
REFRIGERATED GLOVEBOX
It may be refrigerated, depending on
your vehicle’s equipment, by a ven-
tilation duct that can be closed off
manually.
It is directly linked to the vehicle’s air
conditioning system, being supplied
with fresh air whatever the require-
ments of the passenger compart-
ment.
The refrigeration of your glovebox
only operates when the engine is run-
ning and the air conditioning is on.
For reasons of safety, the
glovebox should remain closed
when the vehicle is moving. For reasons of safety, the up-
per storage compartments
should be kept closed when
the vehicle is moving.

REFRIGERATED STORAGE CENTRE CONSOLE
The centre console contains:
- two cup-holders,
- two storage compartments,
- either a 12 V accessories socket (Maximum power: 120 W); this is
operational when the ignition is on.
There may be an additional 12 V accessories socket in the boot.
- or a USB socket.
For reasons of safety, the
refrigerated storage compart-
ment should be kept closed
when the vehicle is moving.
SMOKER'S KIT
This kit consists of a lighter and
a removable ashtray.
These are located on the centre
console. The removable ashtray can
be stored in a can holder.
To use the lighter, press it in and
wait a few seconds until it pops
out automatically.
Vehicles with an
electronic gearbox
or an automatic gearbox possess
an additional refrigerated storage
compartment, situated at the centre
of the dashboard.
To open, pull the handle and
lower the lid.
The refrigerated storage has auto-
matic lighting.
It can accommodate for example
a 1.5 litre bottle and two 0.5 litre
bottles.
Two cup-holders are available when
the lid is open. The refrigerated storage has a venti-
lation duct. It is directly linked to the
vehicle’s air conditioning system,
and is supplied with fresh air what-
ever the requirements of the pas-
senger compartment.
The refrigeration of this storage area
only operates when the engine is run-
ning and the air conditioning is on.

Rear table stowed
Rear table opened
The backrests of the front seats are
fi t t e d w i t h a i r c r a f t - s t y l e t a b l e s . T h e s e
incorporate a can-holder A and a
retaining strap B , for the placing of
objects.
Pull the table downwards to open.
To restow the table, raise it until
the latch locks.
For safety reasons, these collapse
downwards if excessive pressure is
exerted.
Reading lamps C may be incorporated
in the front seat backrests, behind
the tables. These light the surface of
the tables without disturbing the other
passengers.
They are accessible only while the
table is down.

turn the lamp on or off.
STORAGE UNDER THE SECOND ROW FOOTWELL
D e p e n d i n g o n t h e c o n fi g u r a t i o n , t h e
vehicle has one or two storage com-
partments under the footwell, located

second rows. They can be accessed
v i a c l i p p e d fl a p s w i t h a h a n d l e A .
The compartment on the left-hand
side may contain the temporary
puncture repair kit and the tool kit
may be stored in the compartment
on the right-hand side. In this case
t h e fl a p i s s e c u r e d b y m e a n s o f a
screw B . To gain access to the com-
partment, turn the screw a quarter
turn anticlockwise using a coin.

TYRE UNDER-INFLATION DETECTION

trigger a warning in the event of
malfunction (speed above 12 mph
(20 km/h).
Flat tyre T h e t y r e u n d e r - i n fl a t i o n d e t e c t i o n
system is an aid to driving which
does not replace the vigilance or
responsibility of the driver. Puncture
The service warning lamp
comes on in the instru-
ment panel, accompanied
by an audible signal and
a message on the multi-
function screen locating
the wheel concerned.
Check the tyre pressures as soon as
possible. This check must be carried
out when the tyres are cold. The
STOP warning lamp
comes on in the instrument
panel, accompanied by an
audible signal and a mes-
sage on the multifunction
screen locating the wheel
concerned.
Stop immediately, avoiding any sudden
movement of the steering wheel and
the brakes.
Change the damaged wheel (punctured
o r v e r y d e fl a t e d t y r e ) , a n d h a v e t h e t y r e
pressure checked as soon as possible.
Sensor(s) not detected or faulty
The service warning
lamp comes on in the
instrument panel, ac-
companied by an audible
signal and a message on
the multifunction screen
locating the wheel or wheels which
are not detected or indicating a fault
in the system.
Have the faulty sensor(s) checked
by a CITROËN dealer. All repairs and changing of tyres
o n a w h e e l fi t t e d w i t h t h i s s y s t e m
must be carried out by a CITROËN
dealer.
If, when changing a tyre, you in-
stall a wheel which is not detected
b y y o u r v e h i c l e ( e x a m p l e : fi t t i n g
of snow tyres), you must have the
system reinitialised by a CITROËN
dealer.
This system does not eliminate
the need to have the tyre pres-
sure checked regularly (refer to the
" T e c h n i c a l d a t a - § I d e n t i fi c a t i o n
features" section) to ensure that
the optimum dynamic perfor mance
of the vehicle is maintained and
prevent premature wear of the
tyres, particularly in arduous driv-
ing conditions (heavy load, high
speed).
The tyre pressures must be
checked cold, at least once a
month. Remember to check the
pressure of the spare wheel.
T h e t y r e u n d e r - i n fl a t i o n d e t e c t i o n
s y s t e m m a y e x p e r i e n c e t e m p o r a r y
interference due to radio-electric
emissions on a frequency close to
that used by the system.
This message is also displayed
when one of the wheels is away
from the vehicle (being repaired) or
when one or more wheels without a
s e n s o r a r e fi t t e d .

AIR BAGS
S y s t e m d e s i g n e d t o m a x i m i s e t h e
safety of the occupants (with the
e x c e p t i o n o f t h e r e a r c e n t r e p a s -
senger) in the event of violent col-
lisions. It supplements the action of
the force-limiting seat belts.
If a collision occurs, the electronic
detectors record and analyse the
front and side impacts sustained in
the impact detection zones:
- in the case of a serious impact, the air bags are triggered instant-
ly and protect the occupants of
t h e v e h i c l e ( w i t h t h e e x c e p t i o n o f
the rear centre passenger); im-
mediately after the impact, the
a i r b a g s d e fl a t e r a p i d l y s o t h a t
they do not hinder visibility or the
e x i t o f t h e o c c u p a n t s ,
- in the case of a minor or rear im- pact or in certain roll-over con-
ditions, the air bags will not be
triggered; the seat belt alone is
s u f fi c i e n t t o p r o v i d e o p t i m u m
protection in these situations.
The air bags do not operate when
the ignition is switched off.
This equipment will only operate
once. If a second impact occurs
(during the same or a subsequent
accident), the air bag will not operate. Impact detection zones
A. Front impact zone.
B. Side impact zone.
Triggering of the air bag(s) is ac-
companied by a slight emission of
harmless smoke and a noise, due
to the activation of the pyrotechnic
cartridge incorporated in the system.
This smoke is not harmful, but sen-
s i t i v e i n d i v i d u a l s m a y e x p e r i e n c e
slight irritation.
The noise of the detonation may
result in a slight loss of hearing for
a short time. Front airbags
System which protects the head and
chest of the driver and front passen-
ger in the event of a front impact.
The driver's airbag is incorporated in
the centre of the steering wheel; the
front passenger's airbag is incorpo-
rated in the fascia above the glove
b o x .
Operation
The airbags are triggered simultane-
ously, unless the passenger's front
airbag is deactivated, in the event of
a serious front impact to all or part of
the front impact zone
A , in the lon-
gitudinal centreline of the vehicle on
a horizontal plane and directed from
the front to the rear of the vehicle.
T h e f r o n t a i r b a g i n fl a t e s b e t w e e n
the front occupant of the vehicle and
the fascia to cushion their forward
movement.

Deactivation
This warning lamp comes on
in the instrument panel when
the ignition is on and until the
airbag is reactivated.
To guarantee the safety of your
child, it is imperative that the pas-
senger airbag is deactivated when
you install a "rearwards-facing" child
seat on the front passenger seat.
Otherwise, the child would risk be-
ing seriously injured or killed if the
airbag were triggered. Reactivation
When you remove the child seat,
turn switch
1 to the "ON" position to
reactivate the airbag and so guaran-
tee the safety of your front passen-
ger in the event of an impact.
Operating fault
If this warning lamp comes
on in the instrument panel,
accompanied by an audible
warning and a message on
the multifunction screen, contact a
CITROËN dealer to have the sys-
tem checked. The airbags may no
longer be triggered in the event of a
serious impact.
I f t h i s w a r n i n g l a m p fl a s h e s ,
contact a CITROËN dealer.
If both airbag warning lamps come
on continuously, do not install a
"rearwards-facing" child seat on
the front passenger seat.
Have it checked by a CITROËN
dealer.
Only the front passenger's airbag
can be deactivated:
with the ignition off , insert the
key in the passenger airbag de-
activation switch 1 ,
turn it to the "OFF" position,
then, remove the key keeping
the switch in this position.

For the airbags to be fully
effective, observe the following
safety rules:
Sit in a normal upright position.
Wear a correctly adjusted seat belt.
Do not leave anything between the
occupants and the airbags (a child,
pet, object...). This could hamper the
operation of the airbags or injure the
occupants.
After an accident or if the vehicle
has been stolen or broken into, have
the airbag systems checked.
All work on the airbag system is
strictly forbidden unless it is carried
o u t b y q u a l i fi e d p e r s o n n e l o f t h e
CITROËN network.
Even if all of the precautions men-
tioned are observed, a risk of injury
or of minor burns to the head, chest
or arms when an airbag is triggered
c a n n o t b e r u l e d o u t . T h e b a g i n fl a t e s
almost instantly (within a few mil-
l i s e c o n d s ) t h e n d e fl a t e s w i t h i n t h e
same time discharging the hot gas
via openings provided for this pur-
pose. Front airbags
Do not drive holding the steering
wheel by its spokes or resting your
hands on the centre part of the
wheel.
Passengers must not place their feet
on the dashboard.
If possible, do not smoke as deploy-
ment of the airbags can cause burns
or the risk of injury from a cigarette
or pipe.
Never remove or pierce the steering
wheel or hit it violently.
Side airbags
Use only approved covers on the
s e a t s . T h e s e w i l l n o t h i n d e r i n fl a -
tion of the side airbags. Consult a
CITROËN dealer.
D o n o t fi x o r a p p l y a n y t h i n g t o t h e
seat backs. This could cause injury
to the chest or arms if the side air
bag is triggered.
Do not sit with the upper part of the
body any nearer to the door than
necessary. Curtain airbags
D o n o t fi x o r a p p l y a n y t h i n g t o t h e
roof. This could cause injury to the
head if the curtain airbag is trig-
gered.
Do not remove the grab handles in-
stalled on the roof, they play a part
in securing the curtain airbags.

Side airbags *
System which protects the driver
and front passenger in the event of
a serious side impact in order to limit
the risk of injury to the chest.
Each side airbag is incorporated in
the front seat back frame, on the
door side.
Operation
It is triggered unilaterally in the
event of a serious side impact ap-
plied to all or part of the side impact
zone
B , perpendicular to the longi-
tudinal centreline of the vehicle on
a horizontal plane and directed from
the outside towards the inside of the
vehicle.

Curtain airbags *
System which protects the driver

of the rear centre passenger) in the
event of a serious side impact in or-
der to limit the risk of head injuries.
Each curtain airbag is incorporated
in the pillars and the upper part of
the passenger compartment. Operation
It is triggered at the same time as the
corresponding side airbag in the event
of a serious side impact applied to all or
part of the side impact zone
B , perpen-
dicular to the longitudinal centreline of
the vehicle on a horizontal plane and
directed from the outside towards the
inside of the vehicle.
T h e c u r t a i n a i r b a g i n fl a t e s b e t w e e n
the front or rear occupant of the ve-
hicle and the windows.
In the event of a minor impact or
bump on the side of the vehicle or
if the vehicle rolls over, the airbag
may not be triggered.
The airbag is not triggered in the
event of a rear or front collision.

on in the instrument panel,
accompanied by an audible
signal and a message on
the multifunction screen, contact
a CITROËN dealer to have the
system checked. The airbags may
no longer be triggered in the event
of a serious impact.
