Removing a wheel
Parking the vehicle
Immobilise the vehicle where it does notblock traffic: the ground must be level, stable and not slippery. Apply the parking brake unless it has been programmed to automatic mode, switch off the ignition and engage firstgear *
to block the wheels. Check that the braking warning lamp and the Pwarning lamp in the parkingbrake control lever come on.
The occupants must get out of the vehicle and wait where they are safe.
Never go underneath a vehicle raised using a jack; use an axle stand.
)
Depending on equipment, remove the cover from from each of bolts using the tool 3
or removethe hub cap using tool 4. )
Fit the security socket 5
on the wheelbrace 1
to slacken the security bolt (if fitted). )
Slacken the other bolts (no more than a 1/4 turn) using the wheelbrace 1
only.

227Practical information
Do not attempt to charge the high voltage battery.
The batteries contain harmful substances such as sulphuric acid and lead. They mustbe disposed of in accordance with regulations and must not, in any circumstances, bediscarded with household waste.
Take used remote control batteries and vehicle batteries to a special collectionpoint.
It is advisable to disconnect the battery if the vehicle is to be left unused for more than one month.
Protect your eyes and face before handling the battery. All operations on the battery must becarried out in a well ventilated area andaway from naked flames and sourcesof sparks, so as to avoid the risk of explosion or fire.
Do not try to charge a frozen battery;the battery must first be thawed out to avoid the risk of explosion. If the batteryhas been frozen, before charging have it checked by a CITROËN dealer or aqualified workshop who will check that the internal components have not beendamaged and the casing is not cracked, which could cause a leak of toxic and corrosive acid. Do not reverse the polarity and use onlya 12 V charger. Do not disconnect the terminals whilethe engine is running. Do not charge the batteries withoutdisconnecting the terminals first.
Wash your hands afterwards.
Do not push the vehicle to star t the engine if the vehicle is fitted with the electronic gearbox.
Before disconnecting the battery
Wait 2 minutes after switching off the ignition
before disconnecting the battery.
Close the windows and the doors before
disconnecting the battery.
Following reconnection of the battery
Following reconnection of the battery, switch on
the ignition and wait 1 minute before star ting to
permit initialisation of the electronic systems. However, if problems remain following this operation, contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
Referring to the corresponding section, you
must yourself reinitialise (depending on
version):
- the remote control key,
- the electric blind(s), - ...
Do not push the vehicle to star tthe engine.

247Checks
6-speed electronic gearbox
The gearbox does not require anymaintenance (no oil change).
Refer to the ser vicing and warranty
booklet for details of the checking interval for this component.
Brake wear depends on the st
yle
of driving, par ticularly in the case
of vehicles used in town, over shor tdistances. It may be necessary tohave the condition of the brakes checked, evenbetween vehicle services.
Unless there is a leak in the circuit, a drop in
the brake fluid level indicates that the brakepads are worn.
Brake pads
For information on checking brake
disc wear, contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
Brake disc wear
Electric parking brake
This system does not require anyroutine servicing. However, in the
event of a problem, have the system checked by a CITROËN dealer or aqualified workshop.
Only use products recommended by CITROËN or products of equivalent quality and specification. In order to optimise the operationof units as impor tant as the braking system, CITROËN selects and offers
very specific products.
After washing the vehicle, dampness,or in wintry conditions, ice, can formon the brake discs and pads: braking efficiency may be reduced. Make lightbrake applications to dry and defrostthe brakes.
For more in
formation, refer to the "Electric parking brake - Operating faults" section.

Weights and towed loads (in kg)
*
The kerb weight is equal to the unladen weight + driver (75 kg).
**
The weight of the braked trailer can be increased, within the GTW limit, if the GV W of the towing vehicle is reduced by an equal amount; warning,
towing using a lightly loaded towing vehicle may have an adverse effect on its road holding.
To make use of the 300 kg load transfer, the driver must be alone in the vehicle with no luggage in the vehicle.
The GTW and towed load values indicated are valid up to a maximum altitude of 1 000 metres; the towed load mentioned must be reduced b
y 10 % for each additional 1 000 metres of altitude.
The speed of a towing vehicle must not exceed 60 mph (10 0 km/h) (comply with the legislation in force in your country).
High ambient temperatures may result in a reduction in the per formance of the vehicle to protect the engine; if the ambient temperature is above 37 °C,
limit the towed load.
