redSEAT BELTS REMINDER
(for versions/markets, where provided)
The warning light switches on constantly with the
vehicle stationary and the driver's side or passenger
side seat belt (for versions/markets, where provided)
not fastened.
The warning light will flash and a buzzer will sound if
the driver seat belt and the passenger seat belt (for
versions/markets, where provided) are not correctly
fastened with the vehicle in motion.The buzzer of the S.B.R. (Seat Belt Reminder) system
can only be disabled by a Fiat Dealership.
On some versions, the system may be reactivated
using the Setup menu.
redGEARBOX FAILURE
(for versions/markets, where provided)
When the key is turned to MAR, the warning light
switches on but it should switch off after a few
seconds.
The warning light flashes (together with a message in
the display and an acoustic signal) to indicate that the
gearbox is faulty.
The warning light can switch on even in the case of
transmission overheating, after a particularly
demanding use. In this case an engine performance
limitation is carried out.If the transmission is faulty, contact a Fiat Dealership
as soon as possible to have the system checked.

redENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE TOO HIGH
The warning light switches on when the ignition key is
turned to MAR, but it should switch off after a few
seconds. The warning light turns on when the engine
is overheated.
The display shows the dedicated message.In normal driving conditions: stop the car, switch off
the engine and check that the water level in the
reservoir is not below the MIN mark. In this case, wait
for a few minutes to allow the engine to cool down,
then slowly and carefully open the cap. Top up with
coolant fluid making sure that it is included between
the MIN and MAX lines on the vessel. Also check
visually for any fluid leaks. If, when restarting, the
warning light switches on again, contact a Fiat
Dealership.
If the vehicle is used under demanding conditions (e.g.
towing trailers uphill or fully loaded): slow down and, if
the light stays on, stop the vehicle. Wait for 2 or 3
minutes with the engine running and slightly
accelerated to further favour the coolant circulation,
then stop the engine. Check that the coolant level is
correct as described above.
IMPORTANT On demanding routes, it is advisable to
keep the engine on and slightly accelerated for a few
minutes before stopping it.
redLOW BATTERY CHARGE
The warning light switches on when the ignition key is
turned to MAR, but it should switch off as soon as the
engine has started (with the engine idling a brief delay
before switching off is acceptable).
On some versions the display shows the dedicated
message.If the warning light stays on, contact a Fiat Dealership
immediately.

WARNING
92)Never leave children unattended in the
vehicle. Always remove the ignition key
when leaving the vehicle and take it out
with you.
93)The vehicle should be secured after
several clicks of the lever. If it is not,
contact a Fiat Dealership to have it
adjusted.
94)In the case of parking manoeuvres on
roads on a gradient, the front wheels
must be steered towards the pavement
(when parking downhill), or in the opposite
direction if the vehicle is parked uphill. If
the vehicle is parked on a steep slope, it is
advisable to block the wheels with a wedge
or stone.
WHEN PARKED

Proceed as follows when parking and
leaving the vehicle:
engage a gear (1stgear if facing
uphill or reverse if facing downhill) and
leave the wheels turned;
stop the engine and engage the
handbrake;
always remove the ignition key.
If the vehicle is parked on a steep
slope, it is advisable to block the
wheels with a wedge or stone.
Do not leave the key in the MAR
position to prevent the battery from
running down.
Versions with COMFORT-MATIC
transmission
To park safely, keeping a foot on the
brake pedal, the 1
stor reverse (R) gear
must be engaged and, in case of
parking uphills/downhills, the
handbrake must be engaged.
IMPORTANT NEVER leave the vehicle
with the transmission in neutral (N)
or, on versions equipped with automatic
(Comfort matic) transmission, before
putting the shift lever in thePposition.IMPORTANT NOTES
With the vehicle stationary and a
gear engaged, always keep the brake
pedal pressed until you decide to
set off, then release the brake and
accelerate gently;
during prolonged stops with the
engine running, it is advisable to keep
the gearbox in neutral (N);
In order to safeguard the efficiency
of the clutch, do not use the
accelerator to keep the vehicle
stationary (e.g. when stopped on an
incline);
the clutch could overheat and be
damaged; use the brake pedal and only
operate the accelerator pedal when
you decide to set off;
only use second gear when you
need greater control for starting
manoeuvres on surfaces with poor grip;
if, with reverse gear (R) engaged,
you have to engage first gear or vice
versa, only do this when the vehicle is
completely stationary and with the
brake pedal pressed;

WARNING
115)The information required by the
applicable regulation is indicated on the
Fix&Go kit package label. Carefully read
the label on the cartridge before use, avoid
improper use. The kit should be used by
adults and cannot be used by children.
116)IMPORTANT: Do not exceed 80 km/h.
Avoid sudden acceleration or braking.
The kit provides a temporary repair,
therefore the tyre must be examined and
repaired by a specialist as soon as
possible. Before using the kit, ensure that
the tyre is not excessively damaged and
that the rim is in good condition, otherwise
do not use it and call roadside assistance.
Do not remove foreign bodies from the
tyre. Do not let the compressor turned on
for more than 20 consecutive minutes -
overheating hazard.
WARNING
37)The sealant fluid is effective with
external temperatures between -40°C and
+55°C. The sealant has an expiry date. It
is possible to repair tyres which have been
damaged on tread up to a diameter of 6
mm. Show the cartridge and the label
to the personnel who will handle the tyre
treated with the tyre repair kit
CHANGING A BULB
GENERAL
INSTRUCTIONS

Before replacing a bulb check the
contacts for oxidation;
burnt bulbs must be replaced by
others of the same type and power;
always check the headlight beam
direction after changing a bulb;
when a light is not working, check
that the corresponding fuse is intact
before replacing a bulb. For the location
of fuses, refer to the paragraph
"Replacing fuses" in this chapter.
IMPORTANT A slight misting may
appear on the internal surface of the
headlight: this does not indicate a fault
and is caused by low temperature
and the degree of humidity in the air.
Misting will rapidly disappear when the
headlights are switched on. The
presence of drops inside the headlights
indicates infiltration of water. Contact
a Fiat Dealership.
WARNING
117)Modifications or repairs to the electric
system that are not carried out properly
or do not take the system technical
specifications into account can cause
malfunctions leading to the risk of fire.
118)Halogen bulbs contain pressurised
gas, in the case of breakage they may
burst causing glass fragments to be
projected outwards.
119)Halogen bulbs must be handled
holding the metal part only. Touching the
transparent part of the bulb with your
fingers may reduce the intensity of the
emitted light and even reduce the lifespan
of the bulb. In the event of accidental
contact, wipe the bulb with a cloth
moistened with alcohol and let the bulb dry.
120)Where possible, it is advisable to
have bulbs changed at a Fiat Dealership.
The correct operation and direction of
the external lights are absolutely essential
for the safety of the car and of compliance
with the law.
121)Replace the bulbs with the engine
stopped and in a position in which it is not
danger for oncoming traffic and where
you perform the replacement safely (see
the “When parked” paragraph). Also ensure
that the engine is cold, to prevent the risk
of burns.

Distribute the load evenly and pay attention to side winds when driving.
Never exceed the maximum permitted loads (see chapter "Technical specifications").
INSTRUMENT PANEL
If the needle for the engine coolant temperature reaches the red area, stop the engine immediately and contact a Fiat Dealership.
“COMFORT-MATIC" TRANSMISSION Messages on the display
If the warning light(together with the message in the display) continues to remain on in the panel, go to a Fiat Dealership.
If the message is still shown in the display, contact a Fiat Dealership.
To keep the clutch in good condition, do not use the accelerator to keep the car stationary (e.g. when stopped facing uphill); the clutch
could be damaged by overheating. Use the brake pedal instead and operate the accelerator only when you are ready to set off.
BODYWORK
Some automatic systems equipped with old generation blades and/or with a poor maintenance can damage the paint, promoting the
creation of microscoring which give an opaque/coated appearance to the paint, especially on dark colours. In this case, just lightly polish with
specific products.

BODYWORK
Detergents pollute the environment. The vehicle should be washed in areas equipped for collecting and purifying the liquid used in the
washing process.
