If the set value is at 0 seconds, the
feature can be activated as follows:
Bring the ignition device to STOP.
Within 2 minutes pull the left stalk in
main beam headlights flashing mode,
each displacement of the stalk will
correspond to an increment of 30
seconds of delay on headlights
switching off up to a maximum of 210
seconds (equal to 7 flashes).
If the vehicle also features the dusk
sensor, it is possible to activate feature
in automatic mode - with key to MAR
bring the ring nut to
position.
Bringing the key in OFF position with
the headlights turned on, the feature
automatically activates for the time
previously set in menu.
Deactivation
If activation is done by pulling the main
beam headlight stalk, deactivate the
feature keeping the left stalk in main
beam headlights flashing position for at
least two seconds, with key to MAR or
after the set time.
If activation is done via the ring nut of
lights placed on the left stalk, it won't
be possible to disable the feature and
the switching off of the headlights will
happen at the end of the set time or
with key to MAR.
MAIN BEAM HEADLIGHTS
With ring nut in position, push the
stalk forward toward the dashboard
(stable position). The
warning light
switches on in the instrument panel.
They are switched off by pulling the
stalk towards the steering wheel.
Flashing the headlights
Pull the left stalk 1 fig. 24 toward
yourself, to the stable position; the stalk
goes back to the central stable position
when it is released.
With main beam headlights on, the

than half a second, the windscreen
wiper is moved with active control.
When the driver releases the stalk, the
windscreen wiper makes three strokes.
Afterwards, if the control is in position
O, the washing cycle is concluded by
one last stroke after a 6 second pause.
If the position isLOWorHIGH, the
washing function is not carried out.
IMPORTANT If the stalk is activated for
less than half a second, only the
windscreen washer jet is activated. Do
not prolong the activation of the "Smart
Washing" function for more than 30
seconds. Do not activate the
windscreen washer control when the
reservoir is empty.
“Service Position” function
This function makes it possible to
replace the wipers or protect them in
conditions of ice and/or snow.
It can only be activated after turning off
the vehicle.
The Service Position can be explicitly
requested by the driver within two
minutes of turning off the vehicle, when
the wipers have correctly returned to
the parking position.
The driver can enable the function by
turning the ring nut to positionOand
moving the stalk upwards, to the MIST
position, more than three times. Theactivations are used to position the
wipers as preferred. The function is
deactivated when the vehicle is turned
on, with a wiping request or when the
vehicle is moving (speed above 5
Km/h).
IMPORTANT Make sure, when turning
on the vehicle, that the windscreen is
free of snow or ice before turning the
ignition key.
RAIN SENSOR(where provided)
7) 8)
The sensor will be activated when the
ignition device is turned to MAR, and
will be deactivated in the STOP
position.
This is a device located behind the
interior rear view mirrorfig. 29, in
contact with the windscreen and can
measure the amount of rain and,
consequently, manage the automatic
wiping mode of the windscreen in
accordance with the amount of water
on the screen. The rain sensor will be
activated when the ignition device is
turned to MAR. If no rain is detected,
the wiper will not carry out any strokes.
If it is raining, the windscreen wiper
moves according to the amount of rain
measured by the sensor.Activation/deactivation: use the
display Menu or theUconnect™
system (where provided).
WARNING
22)If the window needs to be cleaned,
make sure the device is deactivated or the
key is on STOP.
IMPORTANT
5)Never use the windscreen wipers to
remove layers of snow or ice from the
windscreen. In such conditions, the
windscreen wiper may be subjected to
excessive stress and the motor cut-out
switch, which prevents operation for a few
seconds, may intervene. If operation is not
subsequently restored, even after restarting
the engine, contact a Fiat Dealership.

WARNING
23)Incorrect use of the electric windows
may be dangerous. Before and during
operation, always check that nobody is
exposed to the risk of being injured either
directly by the moving window or through
objects getting caught or hit by it. When
leaving the vehicle (equipped with
mechanical key with remote control),
always remove the key from the ignition
device to prevent accidental operation of
the electric windows from being a hazard
for those still on board.
BONNET
OPENING
Proceed as follows:
pull the lever 1 fig. 38, located in the
driver's side pedal area, in the direction
of the arrow;
adjust the lever 2 fig. 39 in the

that the bonnet is completely closed
and not only fastened by the locking
device by trying to open it. If it is not
perfectly closed, do not try to press the
bonnet lid down but open it and repeat
the procedure.
IMPORTANT Always check that the
bonnet is closed correctly to prevent it
from opening while the vehicle is
travelling.
WARNING
24)Perform these operations only when
the car is stationary.
25)The bonnet may drop suddenly if the
supporting rod is not positioned correctly.
26)Use both hands to lift the bonnet.
Before lifting, check that the windscreen
wiper arms are not raised from the
windscreen, that the vehicle is stationary
and that the parking brake is engaged.
27)For safety reasons, the bonnet must
always be properly closed while the car is
travelling. Therefore, make sure that the
bonnet is properly closed and that the lock
is engaged. If you discover that the bonnet
is not perfectly closed during travel, stop
immediately and close the bonnet in the
correct manner.
DUALDRIVE
ELECTRIC POWER
STEERING
This only operates with the key turned
to MAR and the engine started. The
electric steering allows the force
required at the steering wheel to be
adjusted to suit driving conditions.
IMPORTANT When turning the ignition
key quickly, full power steering
functionality can be achieved after a
few seconds.
IMPORTANT During parking
manoeuvres requiring a lot of steering,
the steering may become harder; this is
normal and is due to the intervention of
the system to protect the electric
steering motor from overheating. No
repair intervention is needed in this
case. When the car is used again, the
power steering will work normally again.
IMPORTANT The Dualdrive electric
power steering provides an electronic
damping effect when approaching the
end of travel. In some manoeuvring
conditions, the steering wheel may
perform an additional small rotation until
reaching its mechanical stop. This
behaviour is normal and is intended to
prevent excessive impacts with the
mechanical components located inside
the device.POWER STEERING
ACTIVATION/
DEACTIVATION
28) 29)
Activation/deactivation:
Press the fig. 41 button.
The activation of the function is
signalled by a visual indication (CITY) on
the instrument panel or, based on the
version, on the display.
When the CITY function is on, the
steering wheel effort is lighter, making
parking easier: therefore, this function is
particularly useful for driving in city
centres.

serious safety problems and also result in
the car not meeting type-approval
requirements.
29)Before performing any maintenance
operations, always turn off the engine and
remove the key from the ignition to lock the
steering column (especially when the car
wheels are not touching the ground). If this
is not possible (for example if the key
needs to be turned to MAR or the engine
must be running), remove the main fuse
that protects the electric power steering.

20)When the engine is switched off never
leave the ignition device in the MAR
position to prevent useless current
absorption from draining the battery.
21)A quick burst on the accelerator before
turning off the engine serves absolutely no
practical purpose; it wastes fuel and is
especially damaging to turbocharged
engines.
22)Warning light
will flash after starting
or during prolonged cranking to indicate a
fault with the glow plug heating system. If
the engine starts, the vehicle can be used
as normal, but a Fiat Dealership must be
contacted as soon as possible.

Handbrake engagement:
Pull lever 1 upwards until the car is
secured.
To use the handbrake pull the lever
fig. 78 upwards until the car cannot be
moved. Four or five clicks are generally
enough when the car is on level ground
while nine or ten may be required if the
car is on a steep slope and laden.
IMPORTANT If this is not the case,
contact a Fiat Dealership to have the
handbrake adjusted.
When the handbrake is on and the
ignition key is at MAR position, the
warning light
will appear on the
instrument panel.Handbrake disengagement:
Raise lever 1 slightly, hold down button
2 and lower the lever, checking that the
warning light
on the instrument
panel switches off.
