Directing Air to the Footwell AirVents
Press the button.
CLIMATE CONTROL HINTS
General Hints
•Prolonged use of recirculated air maycause the windows to fog up.
•You may feel a small amount of airfrom the footwell air vents regardlessof the air distribution setting.
•To reduce humidity build-up inside yourvehicle, do not drive with the systemswitched off or with recirculated airalways switched on.
•Do not place objects under the frontseats as this may interfere with theairflow to the rear seats.
•Remove any snow, ice or leaves fromthe air intake area at the base of thewindshield.
•To improve the time to reach acomfortable temperature in hotweather, drive with the windows openuntil you feel cold air through the airvents.
Quickly Heating the Interior
1.Adjust the blower motor speed to thehighest speed setting.
2.Adjust the temperature control to thehighest setting.
3.Direct air to the footwell air vents.
Recommended Settings forHeating
1.Adjust the blower motor speed to thecenter setting.
2.Adjust the temperature control to themidway point of the hot settings.
3.Direct air to the footwell air vents.
Quickly Cooling the Interior
1.Press MAX A/C.
2.Drive with the windows open for a shortperiod of time.
Recommended Settings forCooling
1.Adjust the blower motor speed to thecenter setting.
2.Adjust the temperature control to themidway point of the cold settings.
3.Direct air to the instrument panel airvents.
Defogging the Side Windows inCold Weather
1.Direct air to the instrument panel andwindshield air vents.
2.Press and release A/C.
3.Adjust the temperature control to thesetting you prefer.
4.Adjust the blower motor speed to thehighest setting.
5.Direct air toward the side windows.
6.Close the instrument panel air vents.

WHAT IS THE POWER OUTLET
The power outlet can power devices thatrequire up to the rating on the outlet cover.
Note:The total power delivered is dividedif more than one outlet is used.

PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: Do not use anextension cord or connect multipledevices to the power outlet. Doing socould result in overloading the poweroutlet. Failure to follow this instructioncould result in fire, personal injury orproperty damage.
WARNING: Do not keep electricaldevices plugged into the power outletwhenever the device is not in use. Theoutlet provides power when the vehicleis on. Failure to follow this instructioncould result in personal injury.
POWER OUTLET LIMITATIONS
You should not use the power outlet forthese types of electric devices:
•Cathode ray tube type televisions.
•Motor loads, such as vacuum cleaners,electric saws or other electric powertools and compressor-drivenrefrigerators.
•Measuring devices which processprecise data, such as medicalequipment or measuring equipment.
•Other appliances requiring anextremely stable power supply, suchas microcomputer-controlled electricblankets or touch sensor lamps.
Note:Some devices may exceed the powerrating on the device label when they areinitially plugged-in and may require you topress the device power button more thanone time in order to allow a soft start. Aftermultiple attempts, if the device remains off,please consider that your device may requiremore than the available power.
Note:The power outlet provides fullavailable power when the vehicle is in park(P). Power availability may be reducedwhen the vehicle is in drive (D). If more thanone outlet is available in the vehicle, poweris divided between the outlets that are inuse at the same time.

WHAT IS THE POWER OUTLET
The power outlet can power devices usinga 12 V outlet adapter.
POWER OUTLET
PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: Do not plug optionalelectrical accessories into the cigarlighter socket. Incorrect use of the cigarlighter can cause damage not coveredby the vehicle warranty, and can resultin fire or serious injury.
When you switch the vehicle on, you canuse the socket to power 12 V applianceswith a maximum current rating of 20 A. Donot use the power point over the vehiclecapacity of 12 V DC 240 W or a fuse couldblow. Do not plug in any device thatsupplies power to the vehicle through thepower points. This could result in damageto vehicle systems. Do not hang anyaccessory from the accessory plug. Alwayskeep the power point caps closed whennot in use. Do not insert objects other thanan accessory plug into the power point.
To prevent the battery from running out ofcharge:
•Do not use the power point longer thannecessary when the vehicle is off.
•Do not leave devices plugged inovernight or when you park your vehiclefor extended periods.

Grounding Type
Neutral Floating
The neutral of the inverter generator isisolated from system ground.
Neutral Bonded
The neutral of the inverter generator isbonded to system ground. Connectingloads that also have neutral bonded toground causes the ground fault detectionto trip.
Note:If additional grounding measures arerequired, consult with a qualified electrician.

WHAT IS UTILITY IDLE MODE -
VEHICLES WITH: FLIP KEY
Utility idle mode allows you to remove thekey from the ignition and keep the vehicleand bed power point running.
SWITCHING UTILITY IDLE
MODE ON AND OFF - VEHICLES

Switching Utility Idle On
1.Start the vehicle. See Starting andStopping the Engine (page 233).
2.Press Features on the touchscreen.
3.Press Pro Power Onboard.
4.Press Generator Mode.
5.Press Utility Idle.
6.Turn the key to position 0.
7.Remove the key from the ignition.
Switching Utility Idle Off using theKey
1.Insert the key into the ignition.
2.Turn the key to position III.

1.Start the vehicle. See Starting andStopping the Engine (page 233).
2.Press Features on the touchscreen.

WHAT IS GENERATOR MODE
Pro-Power On-Board
Generator mode uses the vehicle engineto increase power to the bed power outletsup to the rating listed on the power outletlabel.

RESETTING GROUND FAULT
DETECTION
After disconnecting all electrical loads theground fault can be reset using theswitches on the power point, on theinstrument panel or on the touchscreen.
Use the controls on the touchscreen to testthe ground fault detection circuit.

RESETTING THE CIRCUIT
BREAKER - VEHICLES WITH:

Bed Circuit Breaker
To reset the circuit breaker to the onposition after it has tripped, press thebutton on the upper right area of the bedoutlet. There are two circuit breakerbuttons that correspond to the A and Boutlets.
Instrument Panel Breaker
To reset the interior circuit breaker to theon position after it has tripped, press thebutton on the instrument panel.
Note:In certain conditions the breakersmay trip without notification.

WHAT IS THE WIRELESS
ACCESSORY CHARGER
The wireless accessory charger allows youto charge one compatible Qi wirelesscharging device on the charging area.

CHARGER PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: Wireless chargingdevices can affect the operation ofimplanted medical devices, includingcardiac pacemakers. If you have anyimplanted medical devices, werecommend that you consult with yourphysician.
Keep the charging area clean and removeforeign objects prior to charging a device.
Do not place items with a magnetic stripor radio-frequency identification chip, forexample passports, parking tickets,transportation passes or credit cards, nearthe charging area when charging a device.Damage could occur to the magnetic stripor radio-frequency identification chip.
Do not place metal objects, for exampleremote controls, coins and candywrappers, on or near the charging areawhen charging a device. Metal objects mayheat up and degrade the chargingperformance, in addition to causinginterruptions in charging.
Charging could be interrupted, degraded,or could stop if any of the following occur:
•The system detects a foreign object.
•The device is misaligned on thecharging area.
•The device moves on the activecharging area when the vehicle is inmotion.
•The vehicle ambient temperature is toohigh.
•You attempt to charge a non-Qicompatible device on the wirelesscharger.
Note:During charging, the device and thecharger could heat up, this is normal. If thebattery gets hotter than usual, the devicemay stop charging.

The charging area is on thecenter console or in the mediabin below the instrument panel.
CHARGING A WIRELESS
DEVICE
Place the device on the center of thecharging surface with the charging sidedown. The charging stops after your devicereaches a full charge.
You can use the charger when the vehicleis in accessory mode, when the vehicle isrunning, or when SYNC is on.
Displays on the status bar whenwireless charging is in progress.
Note:The charging performance may beaffected if your device is in a case. It may benecessary to remove the case to wirelesslycharge your device.
Note:Software and firmware updates mayaffect device compatibility, including theuse of unofficial software or firmware. Youshould verify charging functionality with yourspecific devices in-vehicle.

1.With your vehicle running and thetransmission in park (P), press thepolice idle button on the instrumentpanel. See Instrument ClusterIndicators (page 173). An indicatorlamp illuminates to confirm the systemis on.
2.Switch the ignition off and remove thekey.
When the system is on:
•The power window switches turn offand the windows remain in their currentstate.
Note:When the system is on, you can usethe key blade or the remote control to lockand unlock your vehicle.
Switching the System Off
•To disable Police Idle and keep theengine running, insert key and turn tothe run position.
•To disable Police Idle and turn theengine off, press the police idle buttonon the instrument panel.
Note:If you switch the system off beforeswitching the ignition to the run position,your vehicle shuts down.
AUTOMATIC ENGINE STOP -

WHAT IS AUTOMATIC ENGINESTOP
Automatic engine stop is a feature thatswitches the engine off if it has been idlingfor an extended period to help you savefuel.
HOW DOES AUTOMATIC ENGINESTOP WORK
Automatic engine stop turns the engineoff. The ignition also turns off in order tosave battery power. Before the engineshuts down, a message appears in theinformation display showing a timercounting down. If you do not intervenewithin 30 seconds, the engine shuts down.Another message appears in theinformation display to inform you that theengine has shut down in order to save fuel.Start your vehicle as you normally do.
SWITCHING AUTOMATIC ENGINESTOP ON AND OFF
1.Press Settings on the touchscreen.
2.Press Vehicle Settings.
3.Switch 30min Max Idle on or off.
Note:You cannot permanently switch offthe automatic shutdown. If you switch it off,it turns on each time you switch the ignitionon.
OVERRIDING AUTOMATIC ENGINESTOP
You can stop the engine shutdown, or resetthe timer, at any point before the30-second countdown has expired bydoing any of the following:
•Pressing the brake pedal or acceleratorpedal.
•Pressing the OK or RESET buttonduring the countdown.
Note: You cannot permanently switch offthe automatic engine shutdown feature.When you switch it off temporarily, it turnson at the next ignition cycle.
