DATA RECORDING
A large number of electronic componentsof your vehicle contain data storagemodules temporarily or permanentlystoring technical data about the conditionof the vehicle, events and errors.
In general, this technical informationdocuments the condition of parts, modules, systems or the environment:
•Operating conditions of systemcomponents (e.g. filling levels).
•Status messages of the vehicle and itsindividual components (e.g. number ofwheel revolutions/rotational speed, deceleration, lateral acceleration).
•Malfunction and defects in importantsystem components (e.g. lighting andbrake system).
•Vehicle reactions in particular drivingsituations (e.g. inflation of an airbag, activation of the stability regulationsystem).
•Environmental conditions (e.g.temperature).
These data are exclusively technical andhelp identification and correction of errorsas well as optimisation of vehiclefunctions. Motion profiles indicatingtravelled routes cannot be created withthese data.
If services are used (e.g. repair works, service processes, warranty cases, qualityassurance), employees of the servicenetwork (including manufacturers) areable to read out this technical informationfrom the event and error data storagemodules using special diagnostic devices. If required, you will receive furtherinformation. After an error has beencorrected, these data are deleted from theerror storage module or they are constantlyoverwritten.
When using the vehicle, situations mayoccur in which these technical data relatedto other information (accident report, damages on the vehicle, witnessstatements etc.) may be associated witha specific person - possibly, with theassistance of an expert.

GenuineFord replacement collision parts meet ourstringent requirements for fit, finish, structural integrity, corrosion protectionand dent resistance. During vehicledevelopment we validate these partsdeliver the intended level of protection asa whole system. A great way to know forsure you are getting this level of protectionis to use genuine Ford replacementcollision parts.
Warranty on Replacement Parts
Genuine Ford and Motorcraft replacementparts are the only replacement parts thatbenefit from a Ford Warranty. Damagecaused to your vehicle as a result of thefailure of non-Ford parts may not becovered by the Ford Warranty. Foradditional information, refer to the termsand conditions of the Ford Warranty.

INFLATABLE SAFETY BELTS
Rear Inflatable Safety Belt (If
Equipped)
WARNINGS
Do not attempt to service, repair, ormodify the rear inflatable safety belt.
If the rear inflatable safety belt hasdeployed, it will not function again. The rear inflatable safety belt systemmust be replaced by an authorized dealer.
The rear inflatable safety belts are fittedin the shoulder portion of the safety beltsof the second-row outboard seatingpositions.
Note:The rear inflatable safety belts areonly compatible with belt positioningbooster seats of Group 2 and 3 whenproperly installed. See Installing ChildSeats (page 17). This is because they aredesigned to fill with a cooled gas at a lowerpressure and at a slower rate thantraditional airbags. After inflation, theshoulder portion of the safety belt remainscool to the touch.
The rear inflatable safety belt consists ofthe following:
•An inflatable bag located in theshoulder safety belt webbing.
•Lap safety belt webbing withautomatic locking mode.
•The same warning light, electroniccontrol and diagnostic unit as used forthe front safety belts.
•Impact sensors located in various partsof the vehicle.
How does the rear inflatable safety beltsystem work?
The rear inflatable safety belts willfunction like standard restraints ineveryday usage.
During a crash of sufficient force, theinflatable belt will inflate from inside thewebbing.

Shows the temperature of the enginecoolant. At normal operating temperature, the needle will remain in the center section. If the needle enters the red section, theengine is overheating. Stop the engine, switch the ignition off and determine thecause once the engine has cooled down.
Note:Do not restart the engine until thecause of overheating has been resolved.
WARNING
Never remove the coolant reservoircap while the engine is running or hot.
Fuel Gauge
Note:The fuel gauge may vary slightlywhen your vehicle is moving or on a gradient.
Switch the ignition on. The fuel gauge willindicate approximately how much fuel isleft in the fuel tank. The arrow adjacent tothe fuel pump symbol indicates on whichside of your vehicle the fuel filler door islocated.
The needle should move toward F whenyou refuel your vehicle. If the needle pointsto E after adding fuel, this indicates yourvehicle needs service soon.
After refueling some variability in needleposition is normal:
•It may take a short time for the needleto reach F after leaving the gas station. This is normal and depends upon theslope of pavement at the gas station.
•The fuel amount dispensed into thetank is a little less or more than thegauge indicated. This is normal anddepends upon the slope of pavementat the gas station.
•If the gas station nozzle shuts offbefore the tank is full, try a differentgas pump nozzle.
Low Fuel Reminder
A low fuel reminder triggers when the fuelgauge needle is at 1/16th.

If the light is blinking, engine misfire isoccurring which could damage yourcatalytic converter. Drive in a moderatefashion (avoid heavy acceleration anddeceleration) and have your vehicleserviced immediately.
WARNING
Under engine misfire conditions, excessive exhaust temperaturescould damage the catalyticconverter, the fuel system, interior floorcoverings or other vehicle components, possibly causing a fire. Have an authorizeddealer service your vehicle immediately.
The service engine soon indicator lightilluminates when the ignition is first turnedon prior to engine start to check the bulband to indicate whether the vehicle is readyfor Inspection/Maintenance (I/M) testing.
Normally, the service engine soon light willstay on until the engine is cranked, thenturn itself off if no malfunctions arepresent. However, if after 15 seconds theservice engine soon light blinks eight times,it means that the vehicle is not ready forI/M testing.
