HOW TO USE THIS MANUAL
HOW TO USE THIS MANUAL
Essential Information
Consult the Table of Contents to determine
which section contains the information you
desire.
Since the specification of your vehicle
depends on the items of equipment ordered,
certain descriptions and illustrations may
differ from your vehicle's equipment.
The detailed Index at the back of this User
Guide contains a complete listing of all
subjects.
Symbols
Some vehicle components have colored
labels whose symbols indicate precautions to
be observed when using this component.
Refer to “Warning Lights and Messages” in
“Getting To Know Your Instrument Panel”
for further information on the symbols used
in your vehicle.
ROLLOVER WARNING
Utility vehicles have a significantly higher
rollover rate than other types of vehicles.
This vehicle has a higher ground clearanceand a higher center of gravity than many
passenger vehicles. It is capable of
performing better in a wide variety of off-road
applications. Driven in an unsafe manner, all
vehicles can go out of control. Because of the
higher center of gravity, if this vehicle is out
of control it may roll over when some other
vehicles may not.
Do not attempt sharp turns, abrupt maneu
-
vers, or other unsafe driving actions that can
cause loss of vehicle control. Failure to
operate this vehicle safely may result in a
collision, rollover of the vehicle, and severe
or fatal injury. Drive carefully.
Rollover Warning Label
Failure to use the driver and passenger seat
belts provided is a major cause of severe or
fatal injury. In a rollover crash, an unbelted person is significantly more likely to die than a
person wearing a seat belt. Always buckle up.
WARNINGS AND CAUTIONS
This User Guide contains
WARNINGS against
operating procedures that could result in a
collision, bodily injury and/or death. It also
contains CAUTIONS against procedures that
could result in damage to your vehicle. If you
do not read this entire guide, you may miss
important information. Observe all Warnings
and Cautions.
VEHICLE MODIFICATIONS/
ALTERATIONS
WARNING!
Any modifications or alterations to this
vehicle could seriously affect its
roadworthiness and safety and may lead to
a collision resulting in serious injury or

Heated Seats — If Equipped
The heated seats control buttons are located
on the center instrument panel below the
touchscreen, and are also located within the
climate or controls screen of the touch-
screen. Heated Seat Buttons
Push the heated seat button once to
turn the HI setting on.
Push the heated seat button a second
time to turn the MED setting on.
Push the heated seat button a third
time to turn the LO setting on.
Push the heated seat button a fourth
time to turn the heating elements off.
NOTE:
The engine must be running for the heated
seats to operate.
The level of heat selected will stay on until
the operator changes it. Vehicles Equipped With Remote Start
On models that are equipped with remote
start, the driver’s heated seat can be
programmed to come on during a remote
start.
This feature can be programmed through the
Uconnect system. Refer to “Uconnect
Settings” in “Multimedia” in the Owner’s
Manual for further information.
WARNING!
Adjusting a seat while driving may be
dangerous. Moving a seat while driving
could result in loss of control which
could cause a collision and serious injury
or death.
Seats should be adjusted before
fastening the seat belts and while the
vehicle is parked. Serious injury or death
could result from a poorly adjusted seat
belt.
Do not ride with the seatback reclined so
that the shoulder belt is no longer resting
against your chest. In a collision you
could slide under the seat belt, which
could result in serious injury or death.
WARNING!
Persons who are unable to feel pain to
the skin because of advanced age,
chronic illness, diabetes, spinal cord
injury, medication, alcohol use, exhaus-
tion or other physical condition must
exercise care when using the seat heater.
It may cause burns even at low tempera-
tures, especially if used for long periods
of time.
Do not place anything on the seat or
seatback that insulates against heat,
such as a blanket or cushion. This may
cause the seat heater to overheat. Sitting
in a seat that has been overheated could
cause serious burns due to the increased
surface temperature of the seat.

EXTERIOR LIGHTS
Headlight Switch
The headlight switch is located on the right
side of the instrument panel. This switch
controls the operation of the headlights,
parking lights, automatic headlights (if
equipped), instrument panel lights, instru-
ment panel light operation, interior lights,
fog lights (if equipped), and headlight
leveling (if equipped). Headlight Switch
Rotate the headlight switch clockwise to the
first detent for parking light and instrument
panel light operation. Rotate the headlight
switch to the second detent for headlight,
parking light, and instrument panel light
operation.
Daytime Running Lights — If Equipped
The Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) are in a
dedicated position below the headlight
assembly. DRLs are active when the Low Beams are not and when the vehicle is
shifted into any position other than PARK.

will turn off automatically when a turn signal
is in operation and turn on again when the
turn signal is not operating.

Turn Signals
Move the multifunction lever up or down and
the arrows on each side of the instrument
cluster flash to show proper operation of the
front and rear turn signal lights.
NOTE:
If either light remains on and does not flash,
or there is a very fast flash rate, check for a
defective outside light bulb. If an indicator
fails to light when the lever is moved, it
would suggest that the indicator bulb is
defective.
Lights-On Reminder
If the headlights, parking lights, or cargo
lights are left on after the ignition is placed
in the OFF position, a chime will sound when
the driver’s door is opened.
Headlight Leveling System — If Equipped
Your vehicle may be equipped with a headlight
leveling system. This system allows the driver
to maintain proper headlight beam position
with the road surface regardless of vehicle load.
The control switch is located on the instrument
panel next to the dimmer control.
Headlight Leveling Control
To operate, rotate the control switch until the
appropriate number, which corresponds to
the load listed on the chart, aligns with the
indicator line on the switch.
0 /1 Driver only, or driver and front passenger.

be sprayed on the windshield. The wash
function must be used in order to spray the

tion. When the vehicle is restarted, the wiper
will resume function at whichever position
the switch is set at.

distribution. The airflow distribution can be adjusted so air comes from the instrument panel outlets, floor outlets,
defrost outlets, and demist outlets.
The Mode settings are as follows:
Panel Mode Panel Mode Air comes from the outlets in the instrument panel. Each of these outlets can be individually adjusted to direct the
flow of air. The air vanes of the center outlets and outboard outlets can be moved up and down or side to side to
regulate airflow direction. There is a shut off wheel located below the air vanes to shut off or adjust the amount of
airflow from these outlets.
Bi-Level Mode Bi-Level Mode Air comes from the instrument panel outlets and floor outlets. A slight amount of air is directed through the defrost
and side window demister outlets.
NOTE:
Bi-Level mode is designed under comfort conditions to provide cooler air out of the panel outlets and warmer air
from the floor outlets.
