d. Remove the 3 nuts and parking brake control pedal sub-assy from the body.
HINT:
To make room for the procedure, separate the instrument panel junction block assy with bracket from the
body.

11.REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSY
a. Remove the screw and parking brake switch assy.
12.DISCONNECT PARKING BRAKE RELEASE CABLE SUB-ASSY
a. Disconnect the parking brake cable from the parking brake control pedal sub-assy.
13.REMOVE PARKING PEDAL PAD
a. Tear off the parking brake pedal pad from the parking brake control pedal sub-assy by hand.

14.REMOVE PARKING BRAKE PEDAL RETURN ABSORBER ASSY
a. Remove the 2 E-rin
gs, parking brake pedal return absorber assy and 2 bushings.

15.INSTALL PARKING BRAKE PEDAL RETURN ABSORBER ASSY
a. Install the 2 bushings, parking brake pedal return absorber assy and 2 new E-rings.

16.INSTALL PARKING PEDAL PAD
17.CONNECT PARKING BRAKE RELEASE CABLE SUB-ASSY
a. Connect the parking brake release cable sub-assy to the parking brake control pedal sub-assy.
18.INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSY
a. Install the parking brake switch assy with the screw.
19.INSTALL PARKING BRAKE CONTROL PEDAL ASSY
a. Install the parking brake control pedal assy with the 3 nuts.
Torque: 13 N.m (130 kgf.cm, 9 ft.lbf)
b. Connect the instrument panel junction block assy with bracket.

c. Install the 2 bolts and parking brake release cable sub-assy to the body.
Torque: 6.0 N.m (61 kgf.cm, 53 in.lbf)

d. En
gage the wire harness to the parking brake pedal control assy.

e. Connect the parking brake switch connector.

20.INSTALL PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSY NO.1
a. Attach the parking brake cable assy No.1 to the parking brake control pedal assy.
b. Using needle-nose pliers, slowly bend the claw.
Be careful not to dama
ge the parking brake cable assy No.1 or the claw.

c. Install the clip to the parking brake control pedal sub-assy.

d. Install the spring and temporarily tighten the wire adjusting nut and lock nut.
