Turns the brake hold system on
The brake hold standby indicator comes
on. While the system is holding the brake,
the brake hold operated indicator
comes on.
Brake Hold
The brake hold system keeps the brake applied when the shift lever is in D, S or N with the
system on and the brake pedal has been depressed to stop the vehicle. The system
releases the brake when the accelerator pedal is depressed with the shift lever in D or S to
allow smooth start off.

1Ensure that the shift lever is in P and depress the brake pedal.
2Touch the Lexus emblem side of the
electronic key to the power switch.
When the electronic key is detected, a
buzzer sounds and the power switch
will turn to ON.
When the smart access system with
push-button start is deactivated in cus-
tomization setting, the power switch
will turn to ACC.
3Firmly depress the brake pedal and check th at is shown on the multi-information
display.
4Press the power switch.
In the event that the hybrid system still cann ot be started, contact your Lexus dealer.
Starting the hybrid system
Replace the battery with a new one. For instruct ions on replacing the battery, refer to the
“OWNER’S MANUAL”.
