Press and hold the 7 button agai nu ntil the
roller sunblind of the panorama roof with
power tilt/sliding panel closes. X

Using KEYLESS-GO The driver's door and the door at which the han-
dle is used, must both be closed. The SmartKey
must be outside the vehicle. The gap between
the SmartKey and the corresponding door han-
dle should not be greater than 3ft(1m ).

are fully closed.

If the respective side window remains closed
after the button is released ,t hen it has been
set correctly. If this is not the case, repeat the
steps above.
Problems with the side windows
G WARNING
If you close as ide window agai ni mmediately after it has been blocked or reset, the side window
closes with increased or maximum force. The reversing feature is then not active. Parts of the
body could be trapped in the closing area in the process. This poses an increased risk of injury or
even fatal injury.
Make sure that no parts of the body are in the closing area. To stop the closing process, release
the switch or push the switch agai ntor eopen the side window.84

Important safety notes In the following section, the term "sliding sun-
roof" refers to the panorama roof with power
tilt/sliding panel.
G WARNING
While opening and closing the sliding sunroof,
body parts in close proximity could become
trapped. There is ar isk of injury.
Make sure that no body parts are in close
proximity during the opening and closing pro-
cedures.
If somebody becomes trapped: R
release the switch immediately, or R
during automatic operation, push the
switch briefly in any direction
The opening or closing procedure will be stop-
ped.
G WARNING
If children operate the sliding sunroof they
could become trapped, particularly if they are
left unsupervised. There is ar isk of injury. When leaving the vehicle, always take the
SmartKey with you and lock the vehicle. Never
leave children unsupervised in the vehicle.
G WARNING
At high speeds the raised sliding sunroof auto-
matically lowers slightly at the rear. This could
trap you or other persons. There is ar isk of
injury. Make sure that nobody reaches into
the sweep of the sliding sunroof whilst the
vehicle is in motion.
If somebody becomes trapped, immediately
pull back the sliding sunroof switch. The slid-
ing sunroof lifts during opening.
! Only open the sliding sunroof if it is free of
snow and ice. Otherwise, malfunctions may
occur.
Do not allow anything to protrude from the
sliding sunroof. Otherwise, the seals could be
damaged.
! The weather can change abruptly. It could
start to rain or snow. Make sure that the slid-
ing sunroof is closed when you leave the vehi-
cle. The vehicle electronics can be damaged if
water enters the vehicle interior.
i Resonance noises can occur in addition to
the usual airflow noises when the sliding sun-

sure fluctuations in the vehicle interior.
Change the position of the sliding sunroof or
open as ide window slightly to reduce or elim-
inate these noises.
Sliding sunroof reversing feature In the following section, the term "sliding sun-
roof" refers to the panorama roof with power
tilt/sliding panel.
The sliding sunroof is equipped with an auto-
matic reversing feature. If as olid object blocks
or restrict st he sliding sunroof during the closing
process, the sliding sunroof opens agai na uto-
matically .H owever, the automatic reversing
feature is only an aid and does not relieve you of
the responsibility of paying attention when clos-
ing the sliding sunroof.
G WARNING
The reversing feature does not react: R
to soft, light and thin objects, e.g. small fin-
gers R
over the last 1/6 in (4 mm) of the closing
movement R
during resetting R
when closing the sliding sunroof agai nm an-
ually immediately after automatic reversing
This means that the reversing feature cannot
prevent someone being trapped in these sit-
uations. There is ar isk of injury.
Make sure that no body parts are in close
proximity during the closing procedure.

Rain-closing feature The rain-closing feature is only available for vehi-
cles with ar ain sensor.
When the SmartKey is in position Z in the igni-
tion lock or is removed, the sliding sunroof
closes automatically: R
if it starts to rain. R
at extreme outsid et emperatures.R
after six hours. R
if there is am alfunction in the powe rs upply.
The panorama roof with powe rt ilt/sliding panel
remains raise datt he rear in order to allow ven-
tilation of the vehicle interior.
If the panorama roof with powe rt ilt/sliding
panel is obstructed whil eb eing closed by the
rain-closing feature, it opens again slightly. The
rain-closing feature is then deactivated.
The panorama roof with powe rt ilt/sliding panel
does not close if: R
it is raise datt he rear.R
it is blocked. R
no rain is falling on the area of the windshield
being monitored by the rain sensor. If the
vehicle ,f or example ,isu nder ab ridge or in a
carport, the field of the sensor may be cov-
ered.
Operating the rolle rs unblind for the
panorama roof with powe rt ilt/sliding
panel
Important safety notes
G WARNING
Parts of the body could become trapped
betwee nt he rolle rs unblind and frame or slid-
ing sunroof during automatic opening or clos-
ing. There is ar isk of injury.
When opening or closing, make sure that no
body parts are in the sweep of the rolle rs un-
blind. If somebod yb ecomes trapped: R

during automatic operation, push the
switch briefl yina ny direction
The opening or closing procedure wil lbes top-
ped.
The rolle rs unblind shields the vehicle interior
from sunlight. The rolle rs unblind can only be
opened and closed when the panorama roof
with powe rt ilt/sliding panel is closed.
Rolle rs unblind reversin gf eatureThe rolle rs unblind is equipped with an auto-
matic reversing feature. If as olid object blocks
or restricts the rolle rs unblind during the closing
process, the rolle rs unblind opens again auto-
matically. The automatic reversing feature is
only an aid and is not as ubstitute for you ra tten-
tiveness when closing the rolle rs unblind.
G WARNING
The reversing feature does not react: R

Problems with the panorama roof with power tilt/sliding panel
G WARNING
If you do not reset the sliding sunroof after am alfunction or voltage supply interruption, then the
backing up function will malfunction or not work. The sliding sunroof closes with increased or
maximum force. Parts of the body could be trapped in the closing area in the process. This poses
an increased risk of injury or even fatal injury.
In such or similar situations always make sure that no parts of the body are in the closing area.
Always reset the sliding sunroof after am alfunction or voltage supply interruption.
! If the sliding sunroof still cannot be opened or closed as ar esult of am alfunction ,c ontact a
qualified specialist workshop.

Problems with the seat heating Problem

The seat heating has
switched off prematurely
or cannot be switched
on. The on-board voltage is too low because too many electrical consum-
ers are switched on. X
Switch off electrical consumers that you do not need, such as the
rear window defroster or interior lighting.
Once the battery is sufficiently charged, the seat heating will switch
back on automatically.
Steering wheel

G WARNING
You could lose control of your vehicle if you do
the following while driving: R
adjust the driver's seat, head restraint,
steering wheel or mirrors R
fasten the seat belt
There is ar isk of an accident.
Adjust the driver's seat, head restraint ,s teer-
ing wheel and mirror and fasten your seat belt
before startin gt he engine.
G WARNING
Children could injure themselves if they
adjust the steering wheel. There is ar isk of
injury.
When leaving the vehicle, always take the
SmartKey with you and lock the vehicle. Never
leave children unsupervised in the vehicle.
Adjusting the steering wheel
G WARNING
If the steering wheel is unlocked while the
vehicle is in motion, it could change position
unexpectedly. This could cause you to lose
control of the vehicle. There is ar isk of an
accident.
Before startin go ff, make sure the steering
wheel is locked. Never unlock the steering
wheel while the vehicle is in motion. C

The exterior mirror on the front-passenger
side reduces the size of the image. Visible
objects are actually closer than they appear.
This means that you coul dm isjudge the dis-
tance from road users traveling behind, e.g.
when changing lane .T here is ar isk of an acci-
dent.
For this reason, alway sm ake sure of the
actua ld istance from the road users traveling
behind by glancing over you rs houlder. X

The indicator lamp in the K button lights
up or goes out.
The indicator lamp in the button indicates that
the respective function is activated.

Air vents
Important safety notes
G WARNING
Very hot or very cold air can flow from the air
vents. This could resul tinb urns or frostbite in
the immediate vicinity of the air vents. There
is ar isk of injury.
Make sure that all vehicle occupants always
maintain as ufficient distance to the air out-
lets. If necessary ,r edirect the airflow to
another area of the vehicle interior.
In order to ensure the direct flow of fresh air
through the air vents into the vehicle interior,
please observe the following notes: R
keep the air inlet between the windshield and
the hood free of blockages, such as ice, snow
or leaves. R
never cover the air vents or air intake grilles in
the vehicle interior.
i For optimal climate control in the vehicle,
open the air vents completely and set the
adjusters to the central position. Setting the air vents

Ignition lock
As soon as the ignition is switched on, all the
indicator lamps in the instrument cluster light
up.
For further information on situations in which an
indicator lamp either fails to go out after the
engine is started or lights up while driving,
please refer to "Warning and indicator lamps in
the instrument cluster" ( Y
page 219).
If Start/Stop button C has not yet been
pressed, this is the same as the SmartKey being
removed from the ignition. X
To switch on the power supply: press
Start/Stop button C once.
The power supply is switched on. You can now
activate the windshield wipers, for example.
The power supply is switched off again if: R
the driver's door is opened and R
you press Start/Stop button C twice when in
this position X
To switch on the ignition: press Start/Stop
button C twice.
The ignition is switched on.
If you press Start/Stop button C once when
in this position, the ignition is switched off
again.
Removing the Start/Stop button
You can remove the Start/Stop button from the
ignition lock and start the vehicle as normal
using the SmartKey.
You can only switch between Start/Stop button
mode and SmartKey operation when the vehicle
is stationary. You must also engage park position ] .X
Remove Start/Stop button C from ignition
lock D .
You do not have to remove the Start/Stop but-
ton from the ignition lock when you leave the
vehicle. You should, however, alway st ake the
SmartKey with you when leaving the vehicle. As
long as the SmartKey is in the vehicle: R
the vehicle can be started using the Start/
Stop button R
the electrically powered equipment can be
operated
Starting the engine

If children are left unsupervised in the vehicle,

open the doors, thus endangering other

leave children or animals unattended in the

gases such as carbon monoxide. Inhaling
these exhaust gases leads to poisoning. There
is ar isk of fatal injury. Therefore never leave
