push it down. #

Push the seat as farfo rw ards as it will go.

Foldthe seat backrest back until it engages.
Do so as smoo thly as possible.
If th e seat backrest is not engaged, this will be

inst rument cluster. A warning tone will also
sound. #
ATer the seat backrest has been folded bac k,
ch eck the position of the head restraint and
set it tothe cor rect position.
If th e set seat position can no longer be reached,
e.g. because of lug gage inthere ar foot we ll or
because occupants ha veentered there ar of the
ve hicle: #
Pull seat release handle 1again and return
th e seat backrest toan upright position.
The seat will lock in the new fore -and-aT posi-

switching on the seat heating
Re peatedly switching on the seat heating can
cause the seat cushion and seat backrest pad-
ding tobecome very hot.
In particular, the health of persons with limited
te mp erature sensitivity or a limited ability to
re act tohigh temp eratures may be a.ected or
th ey may even su.er burn-like injuries. #
Do not repeatedly switch on the seat
heating. To
protect against overheating, the seat heating
may be temp orarily deactivated aTer it has been
switched on repeatedl y.

objects or documents when the seat
heater is switched on When
the seat heater is switched on, over-
heating may occur due toobjects or docu- ments placed on
the seats e.g. seat cushions

are on the seats when the seat heater is

AIRSCARF uses hea
ted air towa rm the head and
neck area of vehicle occupants. The warm air
0o ws out of theve nts in the head restraints. #
Press button 1repeatedly until the desired
heating le vel is set.
Depending on the heating le vel, up tothree
indicator lamps will light up. If all the indicator
lamps are o., AIRSCARF is switched o.. %
When switching on, the blo wer will start up
only aTer a preheating phase lasting a few
seconds.
ATer switching o., the blo wer will continue to
ru nfo r a few seconds tocool down the heat-
ing elements.
% Ifth eve hicle battery voltage is too lo w,AIR-
SCARF may switch o.. #
Adjust the AIRSCARF vent (/ page 152).
Make sure that no objects are co vering the air
inlet grille on the back of the head restraints.

va te the easy entry‑ and exitfeature, particu-

When leaving theve hicle, alw aysta ke the
ke y with you and lock theve hicle. If
th e easy entry and exitfeature is active, the
stee ring wheel will mo veupwards and the driver's
seat will mo veback in thefo llowing situations:
R You switch o. theve hicle when the driver's
door is open.
R You open the driver's door when theve hicle is
switched o..
% The steering wheel will then mo veupwards
only if it is not already as high as it will go.
The driver's seat will then mo vebackwards
only if it is not already at there ar of the seat
adjustment range. The steering wheel and
the driver's seat will mo ve
back tothe last drive position in thefo llowing
cases:
R You switch the po wer supply or theve hicle on
when the driver's door is closed
R You close the driver's door when theve hicle is
switched on.
The last drive position will be sa ved when:

cle is in motion
The cup holder cann othold a container secure
while theve hicle is in motion.
If yo u use a cup holder while theve hicle is in
motion, the container may be 0ung around
and liquids could be spilled. The vehicle occu-
pants may come into contact with the liquid
and if it is hot, they could be scalded. Yo u
could be distracted from tra1c conditions and
yo u may lose control of theve hicle. #
Only use the cup holder when theve hicle
is stationar y. #
Only use the cup holder for containers of
th eright size. #
Always close the container, particular lyif
th e liquid is hot. *
