Adjusting the front seat manually and elec‐
trically (without Seat Comfort Package)

The seats can be adjus ted when the ignition is
switched off.
& WARNING Risk of becoming trapped
when adjusting the seats
When you adjust a seat, you or other vehicle
occupants could become trapped, e.g. on the
seat guide rail.
#Make sure when adjusting a seat that
no one has any body parts in the sweep
of the seat.

WARNING Risk of accident due tothe
driver's seat not being engaged
If th e driver's seat is not engaged, it could
mo veunexpectedly while theve hicle is in
motion.
This could cause youto lose control of the
ve hicle.
#Alw ays make sure that the driver's seat
is engaged before starting theve hicle.

WARNING Risk of injury from adjusting
th eve hicle settings while theve hicle is in
motion
Yo u could lose cont rol of theve hicle in the
fo llowing situations:
Rifyo u adjust the driver's seat, the head
re stra int, thesteering wheel or the mir ror
while theve hicle is in motion
Rifyo ufa sten your seat belt while theve hi‐
cle is in motion
#Before starting the engine: adjust the
driver's seat, the head restra int, the
st eering wheel or the mir ror and fasten
yo ur seat belt.

WARNING Risk of becoming trapped if
th e seat height is adjus ted carelessly
If yo u adjust the seat height carelessly, you
or other vehicle occupants could be trapped
and thereby injured.

Automatic eme rgency call
The emer gency call is initia ted:
RWhen an airbag is deplo yed.
RWhen the Emer gency Tensioning Devices are
trig gered.
Yo u can end an automatically initiated emer‐
ge ncy call yourself af ter 60 seconds.
Manual emer gency call
An emer gency call can be initia ted manually via
th e SOS button in theove rhead control panel
(
→page 272).
If yo u lea vetheve hicle immediately af ter press‐
ing the SOS button, youdo not kn owif
Mercedes-Benz mbrace
®has successfully made
th e emer gency call.
Initiated eme rgency call
A vo ice connection between the Cus tomer Assis‐
ta nce Center and theve hicle occupants is es tab‐
lished:
Rif th eve hicle occupants are responsive, the
Mercedes-Benz Cus tomer Assis tance Center asks
for more de tailed information on the
emer gency.
Rif no vehicle occupant answers, an ambu‐
lance is sent totheve hicle immediatel y.

Emer gency call not possible

Notes on care of the interior

WARNING Risk of injury from plastic
parts breaking off af terth e use of sol‐
ve nt-based care products
Ca reand cleaning products con taining sol‐
ve nts can cause surf aces inthe cockpit to
become porous.
When the airbags are deplo yed, plastic parts
may break away.
#Do not use any care or cleaning prod‐
ucts containing sol vents toclean the
cockpit.
& WARNING Risk of injury or death from
bleached seat belts
Bleaching or dyeing seat belts can se verely
we aken them.
This can, forex ample, cause seat belts to
te ar or fail in an accident.
#Ne ver bleach or dye seat belts.
Observethefo llowing information:
Information on cleaning and car eAvoiding vehicle damage
Seat belts Clean withwarm wate r and soap solution.
RDo not use chemical cleaning agents.
RDo not dry seat belts byheating them toove r17 6 °F
(80 °C) or exposing them todirect sunlight.
Display Cleanthe sur face carefully wi tha micro fiber clo thand
TFT/LCD display cleaner.
RSwit choff the display and allow tocool.
RDo not use any other cleaning products.
Plastic trim
RClean with a damp microfiber clo th.
RIfth e trim is very dirty: use a cleaning agent recommen‐
ded byMercedes-Benz.
RDo not apply sticke rs,fi lms etc.
RDo not allow cosmetics, insect repellent or sun cream to
come in contact wi th the plastic trim.
