When /tting a belt-secured child restraint system
on the co-driver seat, alw ays obser vethefo llowing:
O Obser vethe no tes on rear wa rd-facing and
fo rw ard-facing child restraint systems on the
co-driver seat (/ page 48).
O Obser vethech ild restraint system manufac-
turer's ins tallation and operating inst ructions.
O For a child restraint system in the "Universal"
or "Semi-Universal" categor y,make sure that
th e system has been appr oved forth eve hicle
seat.
Obser vethe no tes under "Suitability of seats
fo r attaching belt-secured child restraint sys-
te ms" (/ page 46).
O When using a forw ard-facing child restraint
system in ca tegory I: remo vethe head
re straint from there specti veseat, if possible.
ATer thech ild restraint system has been
re mo ved, replace the head restraint immedi-
ately and adjust all head restraints co rrectl y.
O The backrest of thefo rw ard-facing child
re straint system must, as far as possible, be
re sting on the seat backrest of the co-driver
seat.
O For cer tain child restraint systems in weight
category II or III, there may be restrictions on
th e maximum size setting, e.g. due topossible
contact with thero of.
O Thechild restraint system must not be put
under strain between thero of and the seat
cushion and/or be /t tedfacing the wrong

R pop-out wind ows
The child saf ety loc kson the doors secure each
door separatel y.The doo rscan no longer be
opened from the inside (e xception: electric sliding
door). When theve hicle is unloc ked, the door can
be opened from the outside.
If th e electric sliding door is secured, only the slid-
ing door controls in there ar are deacti vated. The
electric sliding door can be opened at any time
using the switch in the centre console. #
