If the lever is set to the locked position, therear door cannot be opened using the insidehandle, but only with the outside handle.If the lever is set to the “Unlock” position, thechild protection mechanism does not func-tion.

The tailgate can be locked or unlocked byusing the central door lock switch (driverside).
After unlocking the tailgate, push the tailgateopen switch (A) and pull up the tailgate.Pull the tailgate grip (B) downward as illus-trated. Gently slam the tailgate from the out-side so that it is completely closed. Alwaysensure the tailgate is securely closed.

protection to prevent
accidental door opening which may cause anaccident.
