FRONT SEATS
Front power seat adjustment
Operating tips:
.The power seat motor has an auto-
reset overload protection circuit. If the
motor stops during operation, wait 30
seconds, then reactivate the switch.
. Do not operate the power seat switch
for a long period of time when the
engine is off. This will discharge the
battery.

Forward and backward (if so equipped):
Moving the switch
forward or back-
ward will slide the seat forward or back-
ward to the desired position.
Reclining (if so equipped):
Move the recline switch
backward until
the desired angle is obtained. To bring the
seatback forward again, move the switch
forward.
The reclining feature allows adjustment
of the seatback for occupants of different
sizes for added comfort and to help
obtain proper seat belt fit. (See “Precau-
tions on seat belt usage” (P.1-10).) The
seatback may also be reclined to allow occupants to rest when the vehicle is
stopped and the transmission is in the P
(Park) position or N (Neutral) position with
the parking brake fully applied.

. For cleaning, use a soft cloth,
dampened with water. Never use
a rough cloth, alcohol, benzine,
thinner or any kind of solvent or
paper towel with a chemical
cleaning agent. They will scratch
or cause discoloration to the lens.

SIC3974
TACHOMETER
The tachometer indicates engine speed in
revolutions per minute (RPM).Do not rev
the engine into the red zone
.
CAUTION
When engine speed approaches the
red zone, shift to a higher gear or
reduce engine speed. Operating the
engine in the red zone may cause
serious engine damage.
SIC3975
ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE
GAUGE
The gauge indicates the engine coolant
temperature.
The engine coolant temperature is within
the normal range when the gauge points
within the zone
shown in the illustra-
tion.
The engine coolant temperature varies
with the outside air temperature and
driving conditions.
CAUTION
If the gauge indicates engine coolant
temperature near the hot (H) end of
the normal range, reduce vehicle
speed to decrease temperature. If
gauge is over the normal range, stop
the vehicle as soon as safely possi-
ble. If the engine is overheated,
continued operation of the vehicle
may seriously damage the engine.
See “If your vehicle overheats” (P.6-
17) for immediate action required.

FUEL GAUGE
The gauge indicates theapproximate
fuel level in the tank.
The gauge may move slightly during
braking, turning, acceleration, or going
up or down hills.
Refill the fuel tank before the gauge
registers “E” (Empty).
The low fuel warning
appears on the
vehicle information display when the
amount of fuel in the tank is getting low.
Refuel as soon as it is convenient, pre-
ferably before the gauge reaches “E”.
There will be a small reserve of fuel in
the tank when the fuel gauge reaches “E”. The
indicates that the fuel-filler door
is located on the passenger’s side of the
vehicle.
CAUTION
. If the vehicle runs out of fuel, themalfunction indicator light
(MIL) may come on. Refuel as
soon as possible. After a few
driving trips, the
light should
turn off. If the light remains on
after a few driving trips, have the
vehicle inspected. It is recom-
mended you visit a NISSAN dealer
for this service.

TRIPLE METER
Engine oil temperature gauge
Oil temperature, as well as the rate of
temperature change, will vary based on
ambient conditions and driving pat-
terns. Under normal operating condi-
tions, oil temperature will remain below
280°F (140°C).
If the engine oil temperature gauge
indicates more than 280°F (140°C) while
driving, reduce the engine speed (RPM).
