engine isrunning. Theairblower willoperate evenif
the engine isturned offand theignition switchis
placed inthe ªONº position.
NO TE:
. Odors frominside andoutside thevehicle
can build upinthe airconditioner unit.Odor
can enter thepassenger compartment
through thevents.
. When parking, setthe heater andaircondi-
tioner controls toturn offairrecirculation to
allow freshairinto thepassenger compart-
ment. Thisshould helpreduce odorsinside
the vehicle.

For models withStop/Start SystemorIdling
Stop System:
While theengine isstopped bythe Stop/Start System
or the Idling StopSystem, switching theairflow tothe
front defogger willcause theengine toautomatically
restart.
While theengine isrunning, selecting airflowtothe
front defogger willprevent theStop/Start Systemor
Idling StopSystem fromautomatically stoppingthe
engine.
When theengine isstopped bythe Stop/Start System
or Idling StopSystem, heaterandairconditioner
performance maybereduced. To keep fullheater and
air conditioner performance, restarttheengine by
pushing theStop/Start SystemOFFswitch orthe
Idling StopSystem OFFswitch, orby placing the
ignition switchinthe ªONº position. Formore details
see ªStop/Start SystemorIdling StopSystemº (P.5-
18) .

When theengine coolant temperature andoutside air
temperature arelow,the airflow from thefoot outlets
may notoperate. However, thisisnot amalfunction.
After thecoolant temperature warmsup,the airflow
from thefoot outlets willoperate normally.

SERVICING AIRCONDITIONER

WARNING:
The airconditioner systemcontains refrigerant
under highpressure. To avoid personal injury,
any airconditioner serviceshouldbedone only
by an experienced technicianwiththeproper
equipment.
The airconditioner systeminyour vehicle ischarged
with arefrigerant designedwiththeenvironment in
mind. This
refrigerant willnotharm theearth's ozone
layer. However, itmay contribute inasmall partto
global warming.
Special charging equipment andlubricant arerequired
when servicing yourvehicle's airconditioner. Using
improper refrigerants orlubricants willcause severe
damage tothe airconditioner system.(SeeªAir

Air conditioner filter

conditioner filter.To make suretheairconditioner
heats, defogs, andventilates efficiently,replace the
filter according thespecified maintenance intervals
listed inaseparate maintenance booklet.To replace
the filter, contact aNISSAN dealer.
The filter should bereplaced ifthe airflow decreases
significantly orifwindows fogupeasily whenoperating
the heater orair conditioner.

. Some cellular phones orother devices maycause
interference orabuzzing noisetocome fromthe
audio system speakers. Storingthedevice ina

Compact Disc(CD) player
