warning light
Linked to the warning lights:
- engine oil pressure and temperature,
- handbrake,
- l o w b r a k e l u i d l e v e l ,
- electronic brake force distribution fault.
Linked to the coolant temperature in-
dicator.

warning light
Linked to the central (STOP) warn-
ing light.
Y o u m u s t s t o p .
This warning light indicates one of
the following:
- i n s u f i c i e n t o i l p r e s s u r e ,
- a lack of oil in the lubrication circuit. Top up the level,
- an oil temperature which is too high. The warning light is
accompanied by an audible
signal. To lower the
oil temperature, reduce your
speed.

warning light
Linked to the central (STOP) warn-
ing light.
This indicates one of the following:
- that the handbrake is applied or not fully released,
- a n e x c e s s i v e d r o p i n b r a k e l u i d level (if the warning light remains
on even when the handbrake is
released),
- a fault in the Electronic Brake Force Distribution, if lit at the
same time as the ABS warning
light.

light
This indicates one of the fol-
lowing:
- faulty operation of the charging circuit,
- slack battery or starter terminals,
- a cut or slack alternator belt,
- an alternator failure.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
E m i s s i o n c o n t r o l
s y s t e m w a r n i n g l i g h t
( a c c o r d i n g t o m o d e l )
This comes on for a few seconds each
time the ignition is switched on.
If it comes on with the engine running,
this indicates incorrect operation of
the injection, ignition or emission
control system.
I f t h e w a r n i n g l i g h t l a s h e s , t h e r e i s a
risk of damage to the catalytic con-
verter on petrol engines.

warning light
Wait until the warning light
goes out before starting the engine.
If the temperature is high enough,
the warning light comes on for less
than one second. You can start the
engine without waiting.
L o w f u e l l e v e l
warning light
W h e n t h i s l i g h t i r s t
comes on, you have enough fuel to
drive at least 30 miles (50 km). The tank
capacity is approximately 50 litres.
S p e e d l i m i t e r / c r u i s e
c o n t r o l i n d i c a t o r l i g h t
This comes on when the
speed limiter or cruise con-
trol is activated.
D y n a m i c s t a b i l i t y
c o n t r o l s y s t e m ( E S P /
ASR) warning light
This comes on for a few seconds each
time the ignition is switched on.
With the engine running and when
the vehicle is moving, it comes on if
the system is activated.
It lights permanently accompanied by
a message on the multifunction dis-
play when the system is disarmed.
If the warning light remains lit with
the engine running and when the ve-
hicle is moving, consult a PEUGEOT
dealer. A n t i - l o c k b r a k i n g
s y s t e m ( A B S ) w a r n i n g
light
This comes on for a few seconds each
time the ignition is switched on.
If the warning light remains on or
comes on above 8 mph (12 km/h),
this indicates an ABS malfunction.
However, the vehicle retains conven-
tional servo-assisted braking.
Illumination of this warning light,
accompanied by an audible signal
and a message on the multifunction
display, indicates a fault in the ABS
system.

warning light
When the ignition is switched on, this
indicator light comes on if the driver
has not fastened his seat belt.
Above 12 mph (20 km/h), the warning
l i g h t l a s h e s f o r a b o u t t w o m i n u t e s
accompanied by an increasingly au-
dible signal and a message on the
multifunction display. This warning
light remains lit until the driver's seat
belt is fastened. P a s s e n g e r a i r b a g
d i s a r m e d w a r n i n g
light
Illumination of this warning light ac-
companied by a message on the
multifunction display, indicates that
the passenger air bag is disarmed.
The warning light remains lit as long
as the passenger air bag is dis-
armed.
Always consult a PEUGEOT dealer if
t h e w a r n i n g l i g h t l a s h e s .
A i r b a g s w a r n i n g l i g h t
The light will come on for a few seconds
when the ignition is switched on.
With the engine running, illumination
of this warning light, accompanied by
an audible signal and a message on
the multifunction display, indicates a
fault in the air bags.

TOTAL DISTANCE
RECORDER
Pressing button 1 alternates bet-
ween:
- the total distance display,
- the trip distance display,
- the speed limiter or cruise control display when one of
these systems is selected with
the engine running.
To reset the trip recorder to zero,
when it is displayed press button
1 until zeros appear.
LIGHTING RHEOSTAT
With the lights on, press the button
to vary the intensity of the lighting of
the instruments and controls. When
the lighting reaches the minimum (or
maximum) setting, release the but-
ton then press it again to increase (or
reduce) the brightness.
As soon as the lighting is of the re-
quired brightness, release the button.
HAZARD WARNING
LIGHTS
Press the button, the direction indica-
t o r s l a s h .
They can operate with the ignition
off.
A u t o m a t i c l i g h t i n g o f h a z a r d
w a r n i n g l i g h t s
When braking in an emergency,
depending on the deceleration, the
hazard warning lights come on auto-
matically. They switch off automati-
c a l l y t h e i r s t t i m e y o u a c c e l e r a t e .
It is also possible to switch them off
by pressing the button.

Opening the doors from
inside Locking / Unlocking from
inside
"Door open" warning
With the engine running, you are
warned if a door is not shut properly
by an audible signal and a message
or graphic on the multifunction dis-
play, indicating the door in question.
When the vehicle is moving , if the
courtesy light button is in the "light-
ing on opening a door" position, the
c o u r t e s y l i g h t l a s h e s .
Without central locking
To lock, press button
A. The button
locks the door in question.
The button on the driver's door locks
the door and the tailgate.
To unlock, pull button A or operate
the handle. With central locking
Press button
B to lock/unlock.

LOCKING / UNLOCKING THE
TAILGATE
Without central locking
To lock, turn the key from A to C.
To open, turn the key from A to B,
press the handle then lift the tail-
gate.
TAILGATE RELEASE
This enables the tailgate to be un-
locked in the event of a central lock-
ing fault:
- Fold back the rear seats to gain access to the boot from inside
the vehicle,
- Pull the tailgate trim to release it,
- Pull the opening catch 1 upwards.
"Boot open" warning
If the tailgate is not shut properly:
- with the engine running , you
are warned by an audible signal
and a message or graphic on the
multifunction display,
- when the vehicle is moving ,
t h e c o u r t e s y l i g h t l a s h e s i f t h e
courtesy light button is in this
position.
With central locking
Locking and unlocking of the tailgate
is simultaneous with the doors.
The lighting is activated on open-
ing the tailgate.
