MONITOR THOROUGHLY
1. When the ignition is on, the orange
and red warning lights come on.
2. When the engine is running, these
warning lights should switch off.
If warning lights remain on, refer to the
page concerned.

A. When the ignition is on, the fuel
gauge needle should rise.

associated low level warning light

If the levels are not correct, top up as

Panel which groups together the vehicle operation dials and indicator lights.
4. Speedometer.
Indicates the current speed of the moving vehicle (km/h).
5. Display.
6. Display zero reset button.
Resets the selected function to zero (trip distance recorder or service
indicator).
7. Instrument panel lighting button.
Adjusts the brightness of the lighting of the instrument panel.
Dials
1. Rev counter.
Indicates the speed of rotation of the engine (x 1 000 rpm).
2. Fuel gauge.
Indicates the quantity of fuel remaining in the tank.
3. Cooling temperature.
Indicates the temperature of the engine coolant (°Celsius).

These three functions are displayed in succession when the ignition is
switched on.

Engine autodiagnostics system.
The lighting of this warning light
indicates the occurrence of a
fault in the engine management
system.
Flashing of this warning light indicates
the occurrence of a fault in the emission
control system.
Engine oil pressure.
The lighting of this warning light
indicates the occurrence of a
fault in the engine lubrication
circuit. It is imperative that the vehicle is
stopped as soon as it is safe to do so. Battery charge.
The lighting of this warning light
indicates the occurrence of a
fault in the battery charging cir-
cuit (dirty or loose terminals, slack or
cut alternator belt, ...).
Braking.
The lighting of this warning light
indicates the occurrence of a fault
in one of the braking systems:
- s i g n i fi c a n t d r o p i n t h e l e v e l i n t h e circuit,
- electronic brake force distribution (EBFD) faulty (if lit at the same time
as the ABS warning light).
It is imperative that the vehicle is stopped as soon as it is safe to do so.
If the vehicle is moving, check that the
handbrake has been released fully.
Low fuel level.
The lighting of this warning light
indicates that there is enough
fuel left to drive approximately
30 miles (50 km).
The capacity of the fuel tank is approxi-
mately 50 litres. Maximum coolant
temperature.
The lighting of this warning light
indicates an excessively high
temperature in the cooling system. It is
imperative that the vehicle is stopped
as soon as it is safe to do so.
Door open.
A door, the boot or the bonnet
is still open:
Seat belt not fastened/
unfastened. The lighting of this warning light
indicates that the driver has not
fastened his seat belt or has
unfastened it.
- if the speed is below 6 mph (10 km/h),
this warning light comes on continu-
ously,
-
if the speed is above 6 mph (10 km/h),
this warning light comes on continuously,
accompanied by an audible signal.
Dynamic stability control
(ESP/ASR).
This warning light comes on for
a few seconds each time the
ignition is switched on.
When the engine is running and the
vehicle is moving, it comes on if the sys-
tem is activated.
It comes on continuously accompanied
by a message on the multifunction dis-
play when the system is deactivated.
If the warning light remains on when
the engine is running and the vehicle is
moving, contact a PEUGEOT dealer.

AUTOMATIC AIR CONDITIONING

2. Temperature adjustment
The value indicated on the display cor-
responds to a level of comfort and not
to a temperature in degrees Celsius or
Fahrenheit.
3. Automatic visibility programme
The automatic comfort programme may
n o t b e s u f fi c i e n t t o q u i c k l y d e m i s t o r d e -
ice the windscreen and side windows
(humidity, several passengers, ice...).
This system is designed to operate
effectively in all seasons, with the
windows closed.
When the engine is cold, to prevent
too great a distribution of cold air, the
a i r fl o w w i l l o n l y r e a c h i t s o p t i m u m l e v e l
gradually.
In cold weather, it favours the distribu-
tion of warm air to the windscreen, the
side windows and the footwells only.
The air conditioning can only operate with the engine ru
nning.
Press the "AUTO" button.
The "AUTO" symbol is dis-
played.
Press the arrows 1 (up and
down) to change this value.
A setting around 21 enables
you to obtain an optimum level
of comfort. Depending on your require-
ments, a setting between 18 and 24 is
usual.
On entering the vehicle, if the interior
temperature is much colder or warmer
than the comfort value, there is no need
to alter the value displayed in order to
obtain the required level of comfort. The
system eliminates the temperature dif-
ference automatically and as quickly as
possible.
In this case, select the auto-
matic visibility programme.
The system automatically con-
trols the air conditioning, the
a i r fl o w a n d t h e a i r i n t a k e a n d p r o v i d e s
optimum distribution of the ventilation to
the windscreen and side windows.
To exit this programme, press the
"AUTO" button again.
We recommend that you use this
mode: it provides optimised automatic
control of all of the functions, passenger
c o m p a r t m e n t t e m p e r a t u r e , a i r fl o w , a i r
distribution and air recirculation, in
accordance with the comfort value that
you have selected.
