OPERATION WARNING LIGHTS Anti-lock braking system
(ABS) warning light
This should go out after a
few seconds.
If the warning light remains on
o r c o m e s o n a b o v e 8 m p h ( 1 2 k m / h ) ,
accompanied by an audible signal
and a message on the multifunction
display, this indicates a malfunction of
the ABS.
H o w e v e r , t h e v e h i c l e r e t a i n s c o n v e n -
t i o n a l s e r v o - a s s i s t e d b r a k i n g .
It is linked with the corresponding
warning light on the instrument panel
display.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Emission control system
warning light
This should go out a few sec-
onds after the engine starts.
With the engine running, if
t h e w a r n i n g l i g h t fl a s h e s o r c o m e s o n
permanently, this indicates a malfunc-
tion of the emission control system.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon
as possible. Passenger air bag
disarmed warning light *
This should go out after a
few seconds.
The lighting of this warning light is ac-
companied by a message on the mul-
tifunction display.
If the passenger air bag is disarmed,
the warning light comes on when the
ignition is switched on and remains on
throughout the duration of disarming.
I n a l l c a s e s , i f t h e w a r n i n g l i g h t fl a s h e s ,
contact a PEUGEOT dealer. Low fuel level
warning light
This should go out af-
ter a few seconds.
The lighting of this
warning light is accompanied by an
audible signal and a message on the
multifunction display.
It is linked with the corresponding
warning light on the instrument panel
display.
W h e n t h e w a r n i n g l i g h t fi r s t c o m e s o n ,
y o u h a v e approximately 5 litres of
fuel left in the tank.
I t i s e s s e n t i a l t o fi l l t h e t a n k t o a v o i d
running out of fuel.
This warning light comes on again
each time the ignition is switched on,
u n t i l t h e t a n k i s fi l l e d w i t h a s u f fi c i e n t
quantity of fuel.
N e v e r c o n t i n u e t o d r i v e u n t i l y o u r u n
out of fuel, this could damage the emis-
sion control and injection systems.
The capacity of the fuel tank is approx-
i m a t e l y 8 0 l i t r e s .
Handbrake, low brake
fl u i d l e v e l a n d e l e c t r o n i c
brake force distribution
warning light
This light should go out after
a few seconds.
If the warning light remains on, or if it
comes on when the engine is running,
it indicates:
- a n e x c e s s i v e d r o p i n t h e b r a k e fl u - i d l e v e l , i f l i n k e d w i t h t h e l o w b r a k e
fl u i d l e v e l w a r n i n g l i g h t o n t h e i n -
strument panel display,
- a malfunction of the electronic brake force distribution, if linked
with the STOP warning light on the
instrument panel display,
- an applied or incorrectly released h a n d b r a k e , w h e n t h e v e h i c l e i s
m o v i n g , i f l i n k e d w i t h t h e h a n d -
brake warning light on the instru-
ment panel display.

Display of this warning light is ac-

If the warning light remains on, or

adjustment warning light
Display of this warning light

It comes on if there is a malfunction of
t h e s y s t e m o n v e h i c l e s fi t t e d w i t h x e -
non bulbs.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer. Electronically controlled
suspension warning light
Display of this warning light
is accompanied by an audi-
ble signal and a message on
the multifunction display.
It comes on when there is a malfunc-
tion of the electronically controlled
suspension.
Select the automatic mode and contact
a PEUGEOT dealer.
P a r t i c u l a t e e m i s s i o n fi l t e r
saturation warning light
(Diesel)
Display of this warning light
is accompanied by an audi-
ble signal and a message on
the multifunction display.
When it comes on with the engine
running, this indicates the start of
saturation of the particulate emission
fi l t e r ( e x c e p t i o n a l l y l o n g p e r i o d s o f
t o w n t y p e d r i v i n g c o n d i t i o n s : r e d u c e d
speed, long tailbacks...).
T o r e g e n e r a t e t h e fi l t e r , y o u a r e a d -
v i s e d t o d r i v e a s s o o n a s p o s s i b l e
a n d w h e n t r a f fi c c o n d i t i o n s p e r m i t a t
a speed of 35 mph (60 km/h) or more
f o r a t l e a s t fi v e m i n u t e s ( u n t i l t h e w a r n -
ing light goes out).
If the light remains on, contact a
PEUGEOT dealer.
W h e n i t c o m e s o n w h e n t h e v e h i c l e i s
m o v i n g , i t i n d i c a t e s a l a c k o f d i e s e l a d -
d i t i v e i n t h e r e s e r v o i r f o r b u r n i n g o f t h e
particles.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Note: after prolonged operation of
t h e v e h i c l e a t a v e r y l o w s p e e d o r a t
idle, you may sometimes notice steam
coming from the exhaust during ac-
celeration. This has no effect on the
p e r f o r m a n c e o f t h e v e h i c l e o r o n t h e
e n v i r o n m e n t .

Service warning light
Display of this warning light,
accompanied by an audible
signal and a message on the
multifunction display, indicates
either:
- a fl a t r e m o t e c o n t r o l b a t t e r y ,
- an engine management system fault.
I n t h e fi r s t c a s e , r e p l a c e t h e r e m o t e
control battery.
In the second case, contact a PEUGEOT
dealer as soon as possible.
T y r e u n d e r - i n fl a t i o n
system warning light
Display of this warning light
is accompanied by an au-
dible signal and a message
on the multifunction display indicating
and locating the cause of the warning:
- a fl a t u n d e r - i n fl a t i o n s e n s o r b a t t e r y ,
- a f a u l t y u n d e r - i n fl a t i o n s e n s o r ,
- a m i s s i n g u n d e r - i n fl a t i o n s e n s o r .
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer. Automatic gearbox
warning light
Display of this warning light
is accompanied by an audi-
ble signal and a message on
the multifunction display.
It comes on if there is an abnormality
in the automatic gearbox.
The gearbox will continue to operate in
downgrade mode (locked in 3rd gear).

Speed control system
warning light
Display of this warning light
is accompanied by an audi-
ble signal and a message on
the multifunction display.
It comes on if there is a malfunction of
the cruise control or speed limiter.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Parking assistance
system warning light
Display of this warning light
is accompanied by an audi-
ble signal and a message on
the multifunction display.
I n r e v e r s e g e a r o r i n f o r w a r d g e a r a t
a speed below 6 mph (10 km/h), it
comes on if there is a malfunction of
the parking assistance system.

INSTRUMENT PANEL DISPLAY
After switching on the ignition, two
functions are shown in succession:
- s e r v i c e i n d i c a t o r ,
- total distance recorder (total and trip distances).
Note: the total and trip distances are dis-
played for 30 seconds when the ignition
i s s w i t c h e d o f f , o n o p e n i n g t h e d r i v e r ' s
door, as well as on locking and unlock-
i n g t h e v e h i c l e .
Engine oil level indicator
When the ignition is switched on, the
e n g i n e o i l l e v e l i s i n d i c a t e d o n t h e
instrument panel display for approxi-
mately 7 seconds.
T h i s l e v e l i s i n d i c a t e d a t t h e s a m e
t i m e a s t h e s e r v i c e i n f o r m a t i o n w h i c h
appears on the display located in the
speedometer dial.
Oil level correct
Lack of oil
Flashing indicates a lack
of oil which may damage
the engine.
If the lack of oil is con-
fi r m e d b y c h e c k i n g u s i n g
t h e d i p s t i c k , i t i s i m p e r a t i v e t h a t t h e
l e v e l i s t o p p e d u p . C h e c k t h e o i l l e v e l u s i n g
the dipstick.
I f t h e l e v e l i s c o r r e c t , t h e
fl a s h i n g i n d i c a t e s a n e n -
g i n e o i l l e v e l g a u g e m a l -
function.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
T h e l e v e l o b s e r v e d o n t h e d i p s t i c k i s
o n l y v a l i d i f t h e v e h i c l e i s p a r k e d o n
l e v e l g r o u n d a n d t h e e n g i n e h a s b e e n
off for more than 15 minutes.
Dipstick
T h e r e a r e 2 l e v e l m a r k s o n t h e
dipstick:
- n e v e r e x c e e d l e v e l A ,
- i n p o s i t i o n B , t o p u p t h e l e v - e l v i a t h e o i l fi l l e r c a p , u s i n g
the type of oil suited to your
engine.

off for more than 15 minutes.
Dipstick
T h e r e a r e 2 l e v e l m a r k s o n t h e
dipstick:
- n e v e r e x c e e d l e v e l A ,
- i n p o s i t i o n B , t o p u p t h e l e v - e l v i a t h e o i l fi l l e r c a p , u s i n g
the type of oil suited to your
engine.

Trip recorder zero reset button
Lighting rheostat button
With the ignition on, press the button
until the zeros appear.
With the headlamps on, press button B to
increase the brightness of the lighting of
the instruments and controls or button A to
reduce it.
As soon as the lighting reaches the required
l e v e l o f b r i g h t n e s s , r e l e a s e t h e b u t t o n .
7 seconds after the ignition is switched
on, the total distance recorder resumes
normal operation and the spanner re-
mains lit. The display shows the total
and trip distances.
Note: the spanner may also be lit if the
t w o - y e a r i n t e r v a l h a s b e e n e x c e e d e d .
Service indicator zero re-set
The service is overdue.
Each time the ignition is switched on
and for 7 seconds, the spanner and
t h e e x c e s s d i s t a n c e fl a s h .
Example: t h e s e r v i c e i s o v e r d u e b y
3 0 0 m i l e s / k m . T h e s e r v i c e s h o u l d b e
c a r r i e d o u t v e r y s h o r t l y .
When the ignition is switched on and
for 7 seconds, the display shows:
Your PEUGEOT dealer carries out this
o p e r a t i o n a f t e r e a c h s e r v i c e .
H o w e v e r , i f y o u c a r r y o u t t h e s e r v i c e
yourself, the re-set procedure is as fol-
lows:
Switch off the ignition,
Press and hold the trip recorder re-
set button,
Switch on the ignition.
The display begins a countdown.
When the display shows "=0" , release
the button; the spanner disappears.
After this operation, if you wish
to disconnect the battery, lock
t h e v e h i c l e a n d w a i t f o r a t l e a s t
fi v e m i n u t e s , o t h e r w i s e t h e z e r o
re-set will not be registered.
