When trouble arises
Indicates that the
amount of accumu-
lated deposits in the
DPF catalytic con-
verter has reached the
specified level.
To clean with DPF cata-
lytic converter, drive the
vehicle at a speed of 65
km/h (40 mph) or
greater for 20 to 30
minutes as much as
possible until the mes-
sage goes off.
Do not turn off the
engine as much as
possible until the mes-
sage goes off.
If it is not possible to
drive the vehicle at
speeds of 65 km/h (40
mph) or greater, or the
DPF system warning
light does not turn off
even after driving for
more than 30 minutes,
have the vehicle
inspected by any
authorized Toyota
dealer or repairer, or
another duly qualified
and equipped profes-
sional.
Indicates that Toyota
parking assist-sensor is
dirty or covered with
ice.
A buzzer also
sounds.
Clean the sensor.

When trouble arises
Vehicles without a multi-information display: The high engine cool-
ant temperature warning light (P. 480) comes on or a loss of
engine power is experienced. (For example, the vehicle speed
does not increase.)
Vehicles with a multi-information display: The engine coolant tem-
perature gauge (P. 95) enters the red zone or a loss of engine
power is experienced. (For example, the vehicle speed does not
increase.)
Steam comes out from under the hood.
Stop the vehicle in a safe place and turn off the air conditioning sys-
tem, and then stop the engine.
If you see steam:
Carefully lift the hood after the steam subsides.
If you do not see steam:
Carefully lift the hood.
After the engine has cooled
down sufficiently, inspect the
hoses and radiator core (radia-
tor) for any leaks.
Radiator
Cooling fan
If a large amount of coolant
leaks, immediately contact any
authorized Toyota dealer or
repairer, or another duly quali-
fied and equipped professional.
If your vehicle overheats
The following may indicate that your vehicle is overheating.

Are the driver and the front passenger wearing the seat belts?

The brake system warning light is on
Is the parking brake released? (P. 212)
Depending on the situation, other types of warning buzzer may also
sound. (P. 479, 492)
Did anyone inside the vehicle open a door during setting the
alarm?
The sensor detects it and the alarm sounds. (P. 79)
Vehicles without a smart entry & start system
To stop the alarm, turn the engine switch to the “ON” position or start
the engine.
Vehicles with a smart entry & start system
To stop the alarm, turn the engine switch to IGNITION ON mode or start
the engine.
A warning buzzer sounds during driving
An alarm is activated and the horn sounds
