Display lighting rheostat
On opening the driver’s door or unlocking with the remote control, for approximately 30 seconds the instrument panel is activated, dis-playing the mileage recorders and if applicable, the maintenance indica-tor spanner.

After the fi rst press on control C, only the top part of the display remains illuminated.
A second press on control C triggers black panel mode.
This function switches off certain of the displays, for night driving. It can be activated:
- either by 2 presses on control C
- or by 1 press on control D if this control has been programmed with the black panel function.
DARK BUTTONBLACK PANEL (with headlamps on)
The instrument panel continues to show vehicle speed as well as the cruise control and speed limiter functions if these are activated.
If there is an alert or a modifi cation of functions or adjustments, black panel is interrupted.
To programme control D:
- give a long press on control D,
- then select the black panel function on the multifunction screen using the arrowed buttons on your radio/CD or Navidrive system. Validate with a press on "OK".
Note: the dashboard lighting rheo-stat still operates in black panel mode.

This driving assistance function allows you to drive at the speed of your choice without the need to action the accelerator.
This system is available above 40 km/h (25 mph), with 4th gear or higher on a manual gearbox or 2nd gear or higher on an automatic gear-box.
Note: Information relating to the cruise control is displayed in zone A of the instrument panel.
To select the function
Turn control 1 to position "REG".
To select a cruising speed
At the time you select the function via the control 1, there is no cruise speed previously memorised:
Note: you can use successive presses to modify the cruise speed in steps of 1 mph and a continuous press to jump in steps of 5 mph.
Accelerate to the desired speed, then press button 2 or button 4. The cruise speed will then be memo-rised and displayed in zone A on the instrument panel.
You can then release the accelerator pedal. The vehicle will automatically keep to that chosen speed.
Note: The vehicle speed may vary slightly from that memorised.
CRUISE CONTROL
Adjustment of the memorised speed while cruise control is in operation
To adjust the memorised speed, dis-played in zone A, press on:
- button 4 to increase the speed,
- button 2 to decrease the speed.
To exceed the cruise speed temporarily
While cruise control is in use, it is always possible to go above the cruise speed simply by pressing the accelerator pedal (for example to overtake another vehicle). The speed displayed in zone A fl ashes.
You have only to release the acce-lator pedal to return to your cruise speed.
Note: if during cruise control the sys-tem cannot keep to the cruise speed (e.g. on a steep descent), then the speed fl ashes. If necessary, brake to curb your speed.

Deactivation of cruise control with memorised speed
- Either by pressing the brake pedal or the clutch pedal.
- Or with a press on button 3.
- Or when ESP or ASR is active.
Note: cruise control is disengaged when the gear lever is in neutral position.
These actions bring up the display "OFF" in zone A in the instrument panel.
These actions do not cancel your cruise speed which remains dis-played on the instrument panel.
Cruise control must only be used where road conditions permit driving at a constant speed.
Do not use it on congested roads or when weather and road conditions are poor.
The driver must still remain attentive and in complete con-trol of the vehicle.
You are recommended to keep your feet within range of the pedals.To avoid any interference with the pedals:To avoid any To avoid any
- ensure that any over-mats are correctly fi tted,
- never superimpose one over-mat on another.
Reactivation of cruise control
- by recalling the memorised speed:
Following a deactivation, press on button 3. Your vehicle auto-matically resumes the memorised cruise speed displayed in zone A.
- by selecting the current speed:
Press on button 2 or 4 as soon as the desired speed is reached. The information "OFF" will then disap-pear from zone A.
In the event of a malfunction, a message is displayed, accompanied by a sound signal and lighting of the SERVICE warning lamp.
Consult your CITROËN dealer.
To cancel the function
- by moving the control from posi-tion "REG" to position 0.
- by stopping the engine.
The cruise speed chosen pre-viously is no longer memorised.
