order. “Acura Stor e,” “Navigation DVD
Updates,” “Shop Navi gation DVDs,” and
“View Current Coverage Map.” Enter
your vehicle model and model year, then
select the state in which you want to check
map coverage.
Operation in Alaska
If the vehicle was purchased in the
Lower 48 states and driven to Alaska,
the system cannot display maps. The
map screen will be blank and only
display the red Vehicle position icon.
Operation in Hawaii
This section describe s the differences in
Navigation System operation for
vehicles delivered in Hawaii.
XM Radio
Vehicles delivered to Hawaii are not
equipped with XM hardware; therefore
sections of the manual that mention XM
audio, traffic displays, and AcuraLink
features, do not apply. Vehicles
originally delivered to the US mainland,
and shipped to Hawaii have XM, but will
not function because the XM satellites
(located above the US mainland) are too
far away to obtain reception.
Map coverage
All roads displayed on the Hawaii map
screens are detailed coverage roads.
Text related to “unv erified” roads are
not applicable. The fo llowing topics do
not apply in Hawaii:

The map legend “Traffic” descriptions
are unavailable.
Shipping a Vehicle To or From
Hawaii
Although the DVD in the vehicle
contains maps for both US mainland
and Hawaii, the dealer must perform the
selection of “US mainland” or “Hawaii”
for you.
NOTE:
 When your dealer makes the switch from US mainland to Hawaii or vice
versa, the system clears all user data.
Make sure to record any information
that you do not want to loose.
 Vehicles delivered to Hawaii dealers
lack XM receivers. Therefore if your
vehicle is shipped to the continental
US, there is no XM or Traffic
coverage available. In this case,
sections of this manual that discuss
XM or Real-Time Traffic are not
applicable.
 If a US mainland delivered vehicle is shipped to Hawaii, there is no XM
reception. It is necessary to see your
Hawaii dealer to allow viewing of
local Hawaii maps. If the vehicle is
shipped back to the continental US,
return to your dealer for access to US
mainland maps.

Traffic
Problem Solution
My Real-Time Traffic is mi ssing and is not displaying
properly. What is wrong? Verify the following:
 Check the traffic icon on the icon bar,
and the icon options for traffic.
Page65 walks you through the verification steps.
 Ensure that you have the correct remo te (the settings for Driver 1 and
Driver 2 are set independently by each driver).
 Your XM “Nav Traffic” subscription may have expired. Call XM at (800)
967-2346 and verify your account status . If your subscription has lapsed,
you may need to request a “rapid re fresh” after XM performs the refresh,
then leave the vehicle running outsi de for 30 minutes to receive the
refresh.
 It is possible that there is a te mporary technical problem with your
metropolitan area traffic. You can call Acura Client Services to see if there
is an outage (page
116) .
 If the situation persists, see your Acura dealer for assistance.

terms of this EULA shall apply.
 If MS, Microsoft Corporation or their affiliates make av ailable Supplemental
Components, and no other EULA terms
are provided, then the terms of this
EULA shall apply, except that the MS,
Microsoft Corporation or affiliate entity
providing the Supplemental
Component(s) shall be the licensor of the
Supplemental Component(s).

reserve the right to di scontinue any Internet-
based services provided to you or made

SOFTWARE. RECOVERY MEDIA.

and labeled “Recovery Media” you may use
the Recovery Media solely to restore or
reinstall the SOFTWARE originally

SOFTWARE TRANSFER ALLOWED

permanently transfer rights under this
EULA only as part of a permanent sale or
transfer of the Device, and only is the
recipient agrees to this EULA. If the
SOFTWARE is an upgrade, any transfer
must also include all prior versions of the
SOFTWARE.
EXPORT RESTRICTIONS. You
acknowledge that SOFTWARE is of US-
origin. You agree to comply with all
applicable international and national laws
that apply to the SOFTWARE, including the
U.S. Export Administrat ion Regulations, as
well as end-user, e nd-use and country
