To use HFL, you need to pair your
Bluetooth-compatible cell phone to
the system.
HFLusesaClass2Bluetooth,which
means, the maximum range between
yourphoneandvehicleis30feet(10
meters).Press the PICK-UP button to go
directly to the Cellular Phone screen.Select ‘‘PHONE SETUP’’ f rom the
Cellular Phone screen. This menu group is f or phone pairing,
and user, phonebook, and speed dial
editing.

To pair a cell phone:On U.S. modelsOn Canadian models
Select ‘‘Setup Bluetooth Phone’’
f rom the Phone Setup screen.
Select ‘‘Pair Phone.’’
HFL gives you a 4-digit pass-key
that you will need to input on your
phone. When your phone prompts you,
input the 4-digit pass-key. Put your cell phone in ‘‘Discovery’’
or ‘‘Search’’ mode, and search f or
a Bluetooth device.
You will receive a notification to
set up an AcuraLink
connection.
If you want to do this, please see
page , or select ‘‘Setup Later.’’
You will receive a notif ication on
the screen and your phone if
pairing is successf ul.

To create your own pass-key, select
‘‘Fixed’’ and f ollow steps 3 and 4.Delete the current pass-key.
Enter a new pass-key, and select
‘‘OK.’’
Select ‘‘Setup Bluetooth Phone’’
f rom the Phone Setup screen.
Select ‘‘Pass-key.’’
The def ault pass-key ‘‘0000’’
is used until you change the setting.
For a randomly generated pass-key
each time you pair a phone, select
‘‘Random.’’
Up to six phones can be paired.
Your phone’s battery may drain
f aster when it is paired to HFL. You cannot pair your phone while
the vehicle is moving.

You can name up to six HFL users.
Each can be PIN protected, and have
its own phonebook, speed dial, and
call history.
Select the user you want to edit on
the Cellular Phone screen.
If the user you selected is PIN-
protected, the ‘‘Speed Dial’’ list on
the right side of the screen will not
appear until the PIN is entered.
To change f rom the currently linked
phone to another paired phone,
select ‘‘Search f or next phone’’ on
the Phone Setup screen.
HFL disconnects the linked phone
and starts searching f or another
paired phone.
If no other paired phone is f ound,
HFL will automatically link the
previous phone.
Select ‘‘Setup Bluetooth Phone’’
f rom the Phone Setup screen.
Select ‘‘Delete a phone.’’
Select the phone you want to
delete. The Bluetooth icon shows
you the currently linked phone.
A trash icon appears next to the
selected phone. Select ‘‘OK’’ to
continue.

Enter a 4-digit PIN, re-enter it, and
select ‘‘OK.’’Follow the prompts to complete
the deletion. Select ‘‘Delete.’’
Select ‘‘Edit User’’ f rom the Phone
Setup screen.
Deleting a user will delete all
settings, such as call history and
phonebook. If the user is already PIN-protected,
you need to enter the current PIN
bef ore creating a new one. If you select ‘‘DO NOT USE PIN,’’
bef ore entering any number, the
user will not have a PIN.
When you set a PIN f or a user, you
will be asked to enter the PIN every
time you select the user on the
Cellular Phone screen.
Select ‘‘Edit User’’ f rom the Phone
Setup screen.
Select ‘‘PIN.’’
Select ‘‘Name.’’
Enter a user name, and select
‘‘OK’’ when complete. Select ‘‘Edit User’’ f rom the Phone
Setup screen.

Select ‘‘Import Cellular
Phonebook’’ f rom the Phone Setup
screen.
HFL begins importing the
phonebook. Select ‘‘OK’’ af ter the
import is completed.Up to three category icons appear
next to the phonebook entries .
These indicate how many numbers
are stored for the name. If a name
has more than three category icons,
‘‘…’’ is displayed.
Availableonsomephones Up to 20 speed dial numbers can be
stored per user, and the f irst f our
numbers are displayed on the
Cellular Phone screen.
Select a ‘‘No Entry’’ f ield to store a
speed dial entry, or use the f ollowing
procedure.
The entire phonebook data (1,000
entries) of the cell phone that is
linkedtoHFLcanbeimportedtothe
system.

To store a speed dial number:
Select ‘‘Edit Speed Dial’’ f rom the
Phone Setup screen.
Select ‘‘Store Speed-dial.’’
Select a number on the speed dial
listwhereyouwanttostorethe
number. When a voice tag is stored for the
entry, you can dial the number by
saying ‘‘Call’’ and the voice tag name.

When the speed dial number is
successf ully stored, you are asked
to store a voice tag f or the number.
