GENERIC FAILURE INDICATION
(where provided)
The symbol appears on the display together with the
events shown below.
Engine oil pressure sensor
The symbol appears when a failure is detected in the
engine oil pressure sensor. The display shows the
dedicated message. In this case, go to a dedicated
Alfa Romeo Dealership as soon as possible to have the
fault corrected.
Clutch overheating message
The
symbol, together with a message on the display,
lights up to indicate clutch overheating.
If you continue driving, the symbol
will disappear and
the warning light will come on (on some versions
together with a message on the display) to indicate a
gearbox fault.
If the symbol comes on together with a message on
the display, limit the gear shifting and/or change the
condition of use, until normal operating conditions are
restored.
If the warning light lights up (a message will appear on
the display, on some versions) stop immediately, operate
the handbrake, switch off the engine and wait 5 minutes:
after this, normal transmission operating conditions will
be restored.
Should the transmission failure condition persist, contact
the dedicated Alfa Romeo Dealership.
FUEL CUT-OFF SYSTEM
The symbol and the corresponding message are shown on
the display in the following cases:
❒ fuel cut-off system intervention:
the yellow symbol lights up;
❒ fuel cut-off system failure:
the red symbol lights up.For reactivating the fuel cut-off system, refer to the
description in the
“Fuel cut-off system” section in the “In an emergency”
chapter. If it is not possible to restore the fuel supply,
contact a dedicated Alfa Romeo Dealership.

BOOT OPEN
The symbol and the corresponding message are shown on
the display.
POSSIBLE ICE ON ROAD
The symbol and corresponding message appear on the
display when the outside temperature is below or equal to
3°C.
IMPORTANT In the event of outside temperature sensor
failure, the digits that indicate the value are replaced by
dashes.
BRAKE LIGHT FAULT
The symbol and the corresponding message are shown on
the the display when a brake light fault is
detected. The fault may be caused by a burnt bulb, a blown
protection fuse or an interruption of the electric
connection.
PARKING SENSOR FAULT
The symbol and corresponding message appear on the
display if there is a parking sensor failure.
DISPLAY OF SELECTED DRIVING MODE
(Alfa DNA system)
A letter (d, n, or a) corresponding to the active driving
mode (dynamic or race, normal, all weather) and an
associated message are shown on the display.

IMPORTANT NOTES
81)
8)
During parking manoeuvres, pay the
utmost attention to any obstacles that
could be located above or below the
sensors.
Under certain circumstances, objects
close to the vehicle are not detected by
the system and could therefore cause
damage to the car or be damaged
themselves.
The following conditions may influence
the performance of the parking sensors:
❒ the presence of ice, snow, mud or
think paint on the sensor surface may
cause reduced sensitivity of the sensor
itself and therefore reduce the system
performance;
❒ the sensor may detect a non-existent
obstacle (“echo interference”) due to
mechanical interference, for example
when washing the vehicle, in rain (strong
wind), hail;
❒ the signals sent by the sensor can also
be altered by the presence of ultrasonic
systems (e.g. pneumatic brake systems
of trucks or pneumatic drills) near the
vehicle;
❒ the variation in sensor position,
caused by variation in ride (due to
suspension component wear), changing
tyres, overloaded car, or tuning that
lowers the car, for example, may affect
parking sensor system performance.
81)The responsibility for parking and
other dangerous manoeuvres always and
in every case lies with the driver.
While carrying out these manoeuvres,
always make sure that no people
(especially children) or animals are in the
area concerned. The parking sensors are
used to assist the driver, who must never
allow his attention to lapse during
potentially dangerous manoeuvres, even
those executed at low speeds.
IMPORTANT
8)The sensor must be clean of mud, dirt,
snow or ice in order for the system to
operate correctly. Be careful not to
scratch or damage the sensors while
cleaning them. Avoid using dry, rough or
hard cloths. The sensors must be washed
using clean water, with the addition of
vehicle shampoo if necessary. When using
special washing equipment such as high
pressure jets or steam cleaning, clean the
sensors very quickly keeping the jet more
than 10 cm away. Also, do not apply
stickers to the sensors.
